Hullo, everyone. I'm not sure if I asked this last chapter or not:
If Reyna, Khione, Drew and Rachel formed a band, what would their band name be? Given this situation. Like they're a bunch of assholes. Same question for Percy, Jason, Nico and Frank.
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson.
Annabeth's POV
Did it surprise me when Thalia pulled us into the entertainment room? Not one little bit. I'd asked Percy and he said when he'd told Thalia and the other about what Rachel did, Thalia had a certain fire in her eyes. She'd always seen me as sort-of a little sister, which would always get on my nerves. After Luke, though, it was almost comforting to know there was still someone to lean on.
"Are you gonna tell me?" Percy said doubtfully when I stepped out of the room.
"Nope," I said, popping the 'p', trying to play off that lying to him was hard.
"Not even if I do this?" He asked and started looking at me like a cute baby seal. I had to use all my willpower not to tell him.
"I won't tell you... but I'll do this," I gave him a quick kiss on his cheek.
"I will accept this!" Percy declared, but I could still see that this disappointed him. I looked around and saw that all the other boys were having conversations with their respective girlfriends. Hazel turned around and caught my eye. I silently gave her a thumbs-up, questioning whether she'd done the same with Frank as I'd done with Percy. She nodded in return and hesitantly sent back my thumbs-up.
Thursday
The rest of the week was great, you know, except for the detention. At least I wouldn't have to deal with Rachel in detention until the last 3 days. I was still pretty pissed I'd gotten detention too. It was pretty obvious Mr Perez believed me and Percy versus someone who probably doesn't know the alphabet. But, of course, punching, or attacking, another student is 'against the rules'. Detention was from 4:30-6:00 every day, which was fine because our concert on Friday wasn't until 8 o'clock.
"Chase! Stop day-dreaming and do your work!" Triton ordered. I rolled my eyes, Triton was more than happy to see me in detention and wasn't afraid of showing it. I looked down at my English homework and tried to read the paragraph. My dyslexic brain couldn't place which words went where and the text ended up making little sense. I let out a soft groan of frustration.
"Is there a problem?" Triton asked immediately.
"Nothing," I replied sweetly. And rolled my eyes yet again. Man, I couldn't stand this guy.
I stared at my paper for a few more minutes, making barely any progress until I looked up and saw the clock say: 5:59. I grunted in a strained way.
I watched the clock slowly tick time away. The speed of the numbers turning from 5:59 to 6:00 was maddeningly slow.
Finally, it was 6:00 and I quickly gathered my things and headed toward the door.
"Oh, and, Annabeth," Triton spoke and I had to stop to listen, "It was lovely seeing you here today."
I scowled and turned on my heel. I walked to the parking lot and spotted my car, which was weird. I didn't drive to school in my car. I was too lazy to want to drive so I had gotten a ride with Thalia in her car. I speed-walked toward my Porsche, getting more confused with each step. I saw the silhouette of a person in the driver's seat.
"Percy?" I asked as I neared the door.
Percy opened the door and stepped out. "Fancy meeting you here."
"Fancy how you have my car. How did you get the keys?" I cut straight to the point.
"Well, you see, I just asked Thalia for the keys," Percy explained.
"And she just let you have them?" I asked sceptically.
"Well, no, after a lot of explaining, begging and just a few punches on the arm she let me have them," Percy said triumphantly.
"So, am I going to get in or are we going to stand here?" I asked.
"It's up to you. If you want to walk, I'll take your car and race you," Percy said sarcastically.
"Mmmm... I think I'd stand a pretty good chance," I pretended to think about it.
"Just get in," Percy said as he kissed me.
We were driving in a semi-comfortable silence when Percy awkwardly tried to break it.
"So... you know what songs you girls are gonna sing tomorrow?" He asked casually.
"Well, I've been working on some songs..." I trailed off, I knew he was trying to get me to tell him.
"Cool, cool, cool. What're they about?" Percy tried (and failed) to be indifferent, but I could tell he really wanted to know.
"Sorry, Seaweed Brain, but you're not gonna know before anyone else," I told him firmly.
He sighed and then shrugged. "Didn't think I was gonna get it out of you, anyway."
"It's touching how much you know about me," I said dryly.
"Isn't it though?" Percy put his arm around my seat.
"This is kinda nice," He remarked.
"Yeah, yeah I guess it is. This day has been pretty nice," I replied. "Except for the detention. And when we get home I'll kill Thalia for giving you the keys."
Crappy ending number 14! Wow.
I am so sorry for the extended absence but I do hope that you all have had nice and safe holidays. Very nice to say good-bye to 2020 and raise a glass to 2021.
I feel like this chapter is a bit anti-climatic, with the long wait and then this chapter was basically just a filler. So, I apologise.
Read the question in the top A/N and tell me what you think of this chapter.
Thank you to all who viewed, reviewed, followed or favourited.
