Grissom and Sara ran into the hospital when they arrived and headed to the desk to ask where their son was. After being told what room he was in they raced to him. Sara ran straight over to her son who was sitting on the bed crying, Betty trying her hardest to comfort him.
"I want my mama" the young boy cried.
"Mummy's here baby" Sara said taking her little boy into her arms.
"Me have a boo boo mama" he cried.
"I know baby, but you're okay" Sara told him, kissing his head softly.
Leo laid in Sara's arms, his head was now bandaged. Grissom and his family were standing by the door talking and watching the mother and son interact.
"What happened?" Grissom sighed, a single tear fell down his cheek.
"Gil, he must have climbed out his bed and down the stairs. We found him in the kitchen by the fridge, I think he got hungry. I'm so sorry son" Betty said as some tears fell down her face.
"It's okay mum, it wasn't your fault. He likes to investigate, always escapes at home and ends up in our bed" he laughed.
"He's going to be fine, the doctor said it was just a cut and a bump. There will be some bruising but he'll be fine, I think he just needs his parents" James told him son, hinting Grissom should go to his son.
Grissom smiled and thanked his parents before joining his wife and son.
Leo's tears had stopped and became sniffles, Grissom joined his family on the hospital bed and wrapped them both up in his arms.
"I gotta a boo boo dada" Leo told his father.
"I know, but you're okay. Mummy and daddy are here now and we're not going to leave you" he said kissing his son's forehead.
Betty, James and Mia waved goodbye to the three, saying they'd stop by in the morning and left for home. The small family of three lay in the hospital bed the rest of the night in each others arms, although they knew Leo was fine they were still worried and scared. They knew in a moment their life could have changed for the worst.
"What a wedding night" Sara joked after Leo had fallen asleep.
Grissom let out a chuckle "Think he missed us too much"
Sara smiled, the two adults fell asleep with their little boy safely secured in their arms.
The couple took their son home the next day after he was released by the doctors. Grissom's father picked the two up and took them home after collecting their things from the hotel. The next few weeks went by without any other Leo incidents, the little boy was back to his happy and investigative self in no time and the two parents were as happy as they had ever been. Grissom continued to work and go to university, Sara too continued to work. Sara's bump continued to grow and before they knew it she was 8 months gone.
Sara was spending the day sorting through the baby clothes they had bought. They had been washed and now she was hanging them up and folding them, putting them in their places. They had decided not to find out the sex of the baby, wanting it to be a surprise. Leo was on the floor playing with some of his toys he had received at Christmas.
"Mama, wook at me" Leo giggled to her.
Leo had dressed up in his pirate outfit, he had a fake moustache on along with an eye patch and a pirate hat.
Sara laughed at her son's look.
"Arrrrg" he shouted to her causing Sara to laugh more.
"Will the baby play pirates with me when it comes?" Leo asked as he walked over and sat next to where Sara was standing.
"Not straight away baby, the baby will be too little to play. But I promise when the baby gets bigger they will want to play with you all the time" she reassured her son.
"Good cause I don't want a boring one" he said as he went off to play again.
Sara laughed to herself and continued to put away the baby clothes.
Later that night after Grissom had arrived home from work the family sat at the table eating dinner.
"Dada" Leo said with his face covered in food.
"Yes Leo" Grissom laughed, seeing his sons face.
"Can you watch a movie wif me?" the boy asked while stuffing his face.
The two parents smiled at their son.
"Of course I will buddy"
"Just you and me though, no mama. Me want a boys night" Leo told him.
Sara giggled, she knew her son had been around her brother too much when Leo started talking about having 'a boys night'.
"Of course we can buddy, you pick the movie and then we can watch it in the living room. Just you and me"
"Can we make a den too?"
"Sure we can"
"It's gonna be the bwst den ever" Leo squealed, clapping his hands in excitement.
The two adults laughed again then went back to eating their meal. Sara cleaned everything away while Grissom bathed their son and the pair changed into the pyjamas.
"Lets go make the den now dada" Leo said as they made their way back into the living room after changing.
"Sure thing buddy"
The pair began making their den using pillows from the couch and blankets from the cupboard. While they were doing this Sara got herself ready for bed before making some hot cocoa for them all. She walked into the living room to give the boys their cocoa and found them both in the den with 'Finding Nemo' their choice of movie on.
"Here's some hot cocoa for your boys night and I've got some popcorn too if you's want it" Sara said to them, standing at the entrance of the den.
"Yummy, fanks mama" Leo said while drinking his drink, some of the whipped cream getting on his nose.
"Thanks babe, you okay?" he asked, pausing the movie for a moment.
"Perfect, I'll be back in just a second with your popcorn then I'll leave yous for your boys night" she said leaving to grab the popcorn.
Once she returned and gave the boys the food she made her way to bed, telling her boys she loved them and to enjoy their night once again.
"Love you too mama"
"Love you too babe"
They both shouted back to her before settling down to watch the movie once again.
While the boys continued to watch their movie and enjoy their boys night, Sara was upstairs in her room watching the TV. Her phone began to ring, she saw it was Catherine and quickly answered it.
"Hey Cath, what's up?" she answered.
"Hey Sar, you busy?"
"Nope, the boys are downstairs having a boys night watching movies. I'm not allowed to join cause I'm a girl Leo says"
Catherine laughed "Well since they're having a boys night, how about I bring some snacks and we have a girls night. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages without everyone else, we need to catch up"
"Sure, make sure you bring ice cream" Sara laughed.
"Of course I will, I'll be round soon" Catherine said ending the call.
Catherine arrived an hour later, knocking on the door then entering.
"Hello Grissom family!" she announced as she arrived.
"Aunty Cat!" Leo shouted as he ran over to her.
Catherine put down the bags she was carrying and lifted the little boy into her arms.
"What are you doing here?" Leo asked hugging her.
"Coming to see your mummy while you and your daddy have a boys night"
Grissom made his way over to the pair.
"Hey Cath, Sara's upstairs in our room. She might be asleep but just wake her when you go up" Grissom told her.
"Thanks Griss, I'll leave you boys to your movie night" she said passing the little boy over to his father before heading to the kitchen to grab some spoons for their ice cream and making hr way upstairs.
Catherine entered the room where Sara was fast asleep on the bed. Catherine laughed as her friend was still sitting up with a bag of chocolate still on her bump. Moving over to the bed Catherine moved the chocolate off Sara's bump before waking her up.
"Sara, its Cath. I've brought ice cream" she said while waking her friend up.
"Ice cream? What kind?" Sara asked as she began to wake.
"Mint choc chip" Catherine said taking in out of the bag and handing Sara a spoon.
"Yummy, give me"
Catherine laughed and handed Sara the tub of ice cream.
"So, I know what you're like Cath, what is it you want to talk about?" Sara asked while eating.
"Nick purposed to me last night" Catherine said smiling.
"OMG! Cath! That's amazing, did you say yes? Where's your ring? How'd he do it?" Sara asked.
"Of course I said yes silly, it was too big so it's getting resized and we were watching the notebook, you know it's my favourite and he turned to me when it finished and got down on one knee and asked me if I'd marry him"
Sara hugged Catherine "I'm so happy for you guys!"
"So you going to be my maid of honour then?" Catherine asked Sara as they pulled back from their hug.
"As long as it's after this baby then of course I will be" Sara smiled.
"Great! Now, what movie we watching?"
The pair decided to watch 'Bride Wars', chatting throughout the movie and watching the baby kick Sara's stomach. It was nearing 10 when the two head a noise come from the other side of the bedroom door.
"Mama! Me come in pwease" Leo said pushing the door open.
"Of course baby, come here" Sara said patting the bed.
Leo ran over and climbed onto the bed with the help of Catherine.
"Where's your daddy Leo?" Catherine asked as she watch the boy settle between the two of them.
"He snoring in our den, too loud" Leo laughed.
The two adults laughed along with the little boy.
"It's way past your bedtime baby, if you're not going to sleep in the den with daddy then it's time for you to go to your own bed" Sara told the little boy after she had stopped laughing.
"No bed mama, me sleep with you" Leo said while pouting.
"Sorry baby, but you need to sleep in your own bed, you're a big boy now and you can't sleep with me and daddy all the time. Okay?"
"Just tonight mama, then me sleep in my bed tomorrow?" Leo suggested with a smile on his face, one he knew his mother could never resist.
Catherine giggled, knowing Sara was about to give in.
Sara sighed "Fine, you can sleep with mummy tonight but tomorrow night you have to sleep in your own bed. Promise me"
"Promise mama" Leo said hugging Sara.
Sara hugged her son back before telling him to go brush his teeth.
"You give in far too easily to that boy Sara" Catherine laughed.
"I know, its just that face, that smile. I can't resist him. What am I going to when this one comes along and starts doing the same" Sara laughed.
"Are you going to tell me what you're having yet?" Catherine asked, annoyed that she still didn't know what her friends baby was going to be.
"Nope, you'll have to wait till after the birth" Sara giggled as she got up off the bed to go check on her son.
Catherine rolled her eyes and began to clean up the messy they had made. Sara returned to the room a few minutes later with Leo who was now ready for bed.
"Okay little man, climb on up" Catherine said while helping the boy onto the king sized bed.
"Thanks Cath" Sara said to her friend, being so far along in her pregnancy Sara was struggling to pick her son up nowadays.
"Don't worry about it, now is my favourite nephew going to give me a goodnight hug?" Catherine asked her nephew.
"You don't got another nephew auntie Cat, I hafta be your favourite" Leo giggled.
Catherine rolled her eyes and laughed "Are you going to give me a hug?"
Leo wrapped his chubby arms around his aunt and said his goodnights to her.
"Okay baby, you lie down. I'll be back up soon, just gotta say goodbye to auntie Cath, okay?" Sara said tucking her son in and kissing his forehead.
Leo yawned and nodded his head. Catherine and Sara left the room quietly and made their way downstairs. They said their goodbyes and Catherine left to go back to her house, Sara then locked up the house and turned everything off while tidying up some of the mess the boys had made earlier. She then moved to the den where Grissom was still fast asleep and snoring.
She knelt down beside his and softly stroked his cheek.
"Griss baby, bedtime. Your backs going to kill you in the morning if you sleep down here like that" Sara said while trying to wake him.
Grissom continued to snore making Sara laugh.
"Gilbert, wake up" she said a bit louder.
Still no response.
"Gilbert Grissom, wake up" she laughed loudly.
Grissom finally woke, jumping slightly.
"Evening Mr Grissom, you know your son is not impressed by your snoring" she giggled.
"I don't snore" Grissom huffed.
"Yes you do babe, now come on, bedtime" Sara said kissing him on the cheek.
The pair got themselves ready for bed and joined their son, who was already fast asleep in bed.
"I wonder if we'll ever get the bed to ourselves ever again" Grissom laughed.
"He promised to sleep in his own bed tomorrow" Sara told her husband smiling, while stroking her sleeping sons head.
"And if he smiles at you and asks to sleep in our bed we both know you'll say yes" Grissom laughed quietly.
"Shut up" Sara said rolling her eyes and letting out a giggle.
"I love you Sar" Grissom said leaning over to kiss her softly.
"I love you too Gil" she said kissing him back.
The pair settled down, both had an arm wrapped around their son as they fell into a peaceful sleep.
