Sara was now 4 days overdue and very uncomfortable, Grissom tried his best to help her around the house and with Leo but was busy with both work and his studies. Sara and Grissom's parents had been around as much as they could, as well as their friends. Leo who didn't fully understand anything other than there was going to be a new baby and his mummy now had a very big tummy. He was constantly following his mother around the house, sitting with her on the couch, lying by her side in bed, never leaving her.
Sara was currently lying on her bed with Leo watching 'Peter Pan' for what felt like the millionth time.
"Mama, can I be wike Peter Pan?"
"How do you mean baby?"
"Be a wittle boy and fwy" he asked as he lay his head on her chest.
Sara smiled and ran her fingers through her sons hair.
"Maybe one day baby you'll be able to fly and you will always be my little boy"
"Even when the baby cwmes?"
"Even when the baby comes" she smiled.
"Forwver and wver?"
"Forever and ever baby, I love you"
"I wove you too mama, I wove you and daddy and my papa's and nana's and aunties and uncles! Uncle Gweggo's my favouwite though but don't tell anyone" he giggled.
"I won't baby" Sara giggled back.
"Oh and I wove the baby mama" Leo said smiling as he looked towards his mother.
"And the baby loves you too, you're going to be the best big brother ever and I'm so proud of you" she told him, kissing his head softly.
Leo then moved to her stomach and gently laid a kiss on it, laughing when the baby kicked back.
While this was happening Sara's father was busy making them some lunch, he was just about to dish it up when he had a sudden gut feeling something wasn't right. Placing everything down he quickly ran upstairs to make sure his daughter and grandson were both okay.
"Sara princess, are you's okay?" he asked breathless as he entered the room.
Sara looked at her dad and smiled, "Yeah, we're both great, how come?"
"Nothing, I just had a feeling but it doesn't matter, you's are okay so it's all good. Now, lunch is ready so are you two coming down to eat?" he asked, holding out a hand to help his daughter up and out of bed.
"Thanks daddy" Sara said while getting out of bed with the help of her father.
Leo jumped down off the bed and made his way down to the dinning room with his mother and grandfather behind him. As they sat down to eat Roberts cell phone began to ring.
"Excuse me guys" he smiled as he left the table to answer it.
"Mama, look at me" Leo giggled.
He had made himself a moustache out of his pasta, Sara laughed and shook her head.
"You're too funny little man, but you need to eat it silly not play with it"
"Sorry mama" the small boy giggled.
Robert came back into the room, his face full of shock, Sara noticed.
"Daddy, you okay?" she asked concerned.
"Sara honey" he took a deep breath.
"What I'm about to tell you, I uh, I need you to stay calm for the sake of the baby, Leo and yourself. You promise?" he asked taking her hand.
"I promise daddy, now tell me what's wrong"
"There's been an accident, we need to go to the hospital" he sighed.
"What kind of accident, who was there?" she asked worried.
"Princess, it's Greg. He was hit by another car on the way home. He's at the hospital, I need to go sweetie"
"Okay, right um, let me get my bag and can you get Leo's stuff while I get him ready and then we can go. Oh and I need to get um, my phone and call Gil so he doesn't worry when he comes home and we're not here. OMG! What about mum, where is she? Does she know yet?" Sara ranted as tears streamed down her face.
"Sara, princess. You need to calm down. Now go get your stuff and I'll get Leo sorted, you can call Gil in the car and your mother is on her way there already."
The two got themselves and Leo into the car and headed off to the hospital, Sara phoned Grissom on the way who was going to meet them there. They quickly found a parking space before heading into the hospital, Robert carrying Leo for Sara.
"Hi there, my son was in a car accident. He's been brought here! What room is he!" Robert asked frantically when they reached the receptionist.
"Okay sir, I need a full name and ID before I can let you know where your son is" the receptionist told him.
Robert quickly did as was asked, he was then told where to go. Before the receptionist could finished Robert and Sara were already off. Laura Sidle was pacing the hall when they arrived.
"Laura, what's going on? What happened? How is he?" Robert asked as they approached her.
Laura who had tears rolling down her face began to tell them what had happened.
"He was just leaving, we had lunch at the dinner he loves, a guy just drove right into him. I watched it all happen, I, if I had just agreed to get pudding then maybe he wouldn't be here."
Robert passed his grandson to Sara and wrapped his arms around his wife, "Laura, sweetheart, it is not your fault. Don't even think that, he's Gregory Sidle, he is going to be fine"
Just then the doctor who was treating Greg approached them.
"Hi there, are you Gregory Sidles family?"
Robert extended his had to shake the doctors, "Yes we are, how is my son?"
"He is very lucky, has a concussion, a broken arm, has lots of cuts and bruises but is very lucky" the doctor explained.
"Thank you, when will we be able to see him?" Robert asked, relieved that nothing serious was wrong with his son.
"You can go in and see him now, he is in room 225" the doctor told them while pointing in the direction of the room.
Thanking him again the family left to go see Greg, entering the room they saw Greg awake and smiling at them.
"Hey guys, how is everyone doing" he laughed.
"Hey dork, trust you to get yourself roughed up just before your niece or nephew is born" she joked.
"Well what can I say, I was getting bored of waiting, thought we needed some excitement in our lives" he joked back.
"Hi unca Gweg, you gotta boo boo?" Leo asked as he noticed Greg in the hospital bed.
"Sure do buddy, why don't you come over here and sign my cast for me?" he suggested to his nephew.
"Yeah!" Leo cheered, Sara placed him on the bed next to her brother and passed him a marker pen.
While Leo was drawing on Greg's cast Laura and Robert made their way over to their son.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Laura asked while stroking her sons forehead.
"Been better, but the doc gave me some good drugs" he joked.
Laura rolled her eyes at her son and laughed, kissing his forehead.
"Has anyone spoken to Morgan yet and told her what happened?" Greg asked his family.
"I did when we first got here, she will be here as soon as possible, I told her not to worry" Laura told him.
"Thanks mom" Greg yawned.
"Maybe we should go?" Robert suggested as he noticed his son getting tired.
"No stay, I'm fine, please stay" Greg asked them.
Smiling Robert agreed they would stay a while longer. An hour later Grissom had both shown up, Morgan behind him worried about Greg. After calming Morgan down and reassuring her that everything was okay, Morgan signed Gregs cast next to Leo's picture he had attempted to make.
A little while later just as the Sidle and Grissom families were about to leave Greg ad Morgan, Sara stopped at the door.
"Sara honey, are you okay?" Grissom asked as he noticed something wasn't't right with his wife.
"Um, yeah, I just think my waters broke" she laughed as she looked down to see a puddle at her feet.
The pair looked at each other and smiled.
"We'll take Leo" Robert said as he took his grandson from Grissoms arms.
"Thanks daddy" Sara smiled and kissed her sons cheek as if to say goodbye.
"Lets go have a baby" Sara said as she took Grissoms hand and smiled.
The pair left to go to the maternity ward, their family shouting their good lucks to them. Baby Grissom number 2 was on its way.
