Little Henry- part 2
Effervescent Dreamer asked for a oneshot of (you made the choice easy for me, you only gave chapter name and number for one ;) ) a sequel to Ch2010 "Little Henry" where Emma shows him off to Snowing. Snow comments that she hasn't seen him this small since she held him as a baby. Will contain a season 6 spoiler.
"This is so strange." Snow whispered as Henry played around with some of Neal's toy trains. "He's just so little."
"I know." Emma sighed, smiling. She didn't take her eyes off the little boy, her little boy. Snow's heart almost broke for her daughter. She knew that look. That's the look Snow and Charming had when they found Emma with the pixie dust. When they found her as a child, rather than a fully grown woman. Unfortunately, Snow also knew what Emma would experience when Henry changed back. She would always love him, no matter how big he was, but having her baby grow up in the blink of an eye…that would take a while to heal.
"He kinda looks like Neal." Charming commented, watching his grandson play. Snow and Emma nodded in agreement.
"He always has. He looked really like Neal when he was a newborn." Snow commented. She was aware of Charming and Emma looking at her oddly. She realised then that neither of them knew. "Regina brought him in because he wouldn't stop crying. Mary Margaret was doing her volunteering rounds. I got to hold him for a few seconds…he stopped crying." Snow explained. Emma bit her lip, trying to hold back the emotion.
"He got to have a cuddle from his grandma." Charming said, smiling. He wished he'd got to hold Henry, to see him grow up like Snow did. But that was its own curse. She had to see the little boy grow up, only to realise a decade later that he was her grandson. That she should have been playing with him for all those years like they were doing now. That she had a teenaged daughter who had just made the toughest decision of her life and given away her son. But she couldn't really complain, seeing as she was the only member of the family to be part of Henry's life in any way, shape or form. But that didn't mean she didn't have her own regrets from it.
