A battle of words- part 2

FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch27 "A battle of words" where Snowing are, without really realising it keeping their next child away from Emma when she seems to be close to talking.

"Sorry honey, she's got a bit of a temperature. Best avoid tonight. I'll come round and see you tomorrow." Snow promised.

"Oh, alright then." Emma said, feeling a bit disappointed. "Will you be bringing Rosie with you?"

"Oh, um, no, your dad's taken the day off to have a daddy/daughter day with her. Speaking of which, he wants to know if you're free on Saturday?"

"Um, yeah, sure." Emma answered. "Just tell him to text me. I'll see you tomorrow then?"

"Already looking forward to it!" Snow said before hanging up. Emma frowned down at her phone. She didn't understand what was going on. She hadn't seen her baby sister in almost two weeks. Every time she was meant to, something randomly came up. At least she was picking up Neal from preschool later and taking him to the park. Maybe she was just overreacting.

Neal was thrilled, as always, to see his big sister.

"Hey kiddo, how was school?"

"Good." Neal answered before telling Emma all about his day, and how he could zip his jacket up all by himself now.

"Wow, what a big boy you are." Emma praised him. Neal nodded happily.

"Rosie's becoming a big girl too." He commented.

"Yeah, I'll bet she is." Emma sighed. Not that she would actually know.

"Mommy and daddy say she's going to talk real soon." Neal mentioned. Emma looked down at him. She hadn't realised Rosie was showing signs of being ready to speak. Now things started to make sense! She rolled her eyes above Neal's head.

"Well, let's hope she talks real soon then." Emma told him. That way she might be able to see her baby sister before the year was out!
