3rd Person POV

White Clouds

Garland Moon

There are new places to explore in the monastery. Bambietta receives 2,000 G from the Church of Seiros as funding for this month's activities

Day 1

Audience Chamber

Bambietta was talking to Rhea and Seteth. "Professor Bambietta, I have a new mission for your students." Rhea declared.

"We have received reports that Lord Lonato has rallied troops against the Holy Church of Seiros." Seteth said.

"Who is Lord Lonato? Why would he do that?" Bambietta asked.

"Lord Lonato is a minor lord of the Kingdom. He has been showing hostility toward the church for some time now." Rhea answered.

"A vanguard unit from the Knights of Seiros is already on its way to his stronghold, Castle Gaspard. Lord Lonato's army is nothing compared to the knights. It is quite possible the rebellion has already been suppressed." Seteth boasted.

"Even so, I would like for your class to travel with the knights' rear guard to deal with the aftermath." Rhea asked of.

"War zones are unpredictable. We do not expect you will have cause to battle, but be prepared for the worst." Seteth told.

"Excuse me. You sent for me, Lady Rhea?" A woman with tanned skin and blonde hair asked as she appeared.

"This is Catherine. She will be leading the knights whom you will be accompanying." Rhea introduced to Bambietta.

"Nice to meet you. We heard a lot about you. If you need anything, just ask." Catherine offered.

"Y-Yeah. Sure." Bambietta stuttered out.

"She is one of our bravest knights, and that is no small feat. Only an exceptional few have what it takes to join the Knights of Seiros. This mission should prove useful in demonstrating to the students how foolish it would be to ever turn their blades on the church..." Rhea pointed out.

Day 5

It's Sylvain's birthday. Bambietta buys him flowers.

Day 8

Bambietta has free time this day.

Since Claude is now strong enough for a beginner exam, Bambietta decides to put him through one. "Let's see... Myrmidon or Fighter... Myrmidon's no guarantee, but Fighter is... Heh. Fighter it is, then." She said to himself. So she put Claude in the Fighter Class.

Since Hilda is now strong enough for a beginner exam, Bambietta decides to put her through one. "Ooh... Soldier or Fighter... both are guarantees... Hmm..." She hummed as she looks at one of the gold pieces she obtained from the Church of Seiros to see if it has a heads and a tails side. Sure enough, it does. She flips one and it lands on its tails side. "Fighter it is, then." She declared as she puts Hilda in the Fighter Class.

"Hmm... If I get one of my students to become an MVP, I might have enough to instruct for two weeks... IF I choose to battle... If I choose a Seminar first, I could potentially have three more... I'll just have to change Claude's goals for the time being." Bambietta declared as she does so. She participates in Alois's seminar.

Raphael learned Brawling Prowess Lv 2.

Caspar learned Helm Splitter.

The motivation of attendees increased by 50.

Day 9

"Class is in session, everyone." Bambietta declared. She calls Claude up to her first. "Okay, Claude. Let's work on your axes first."

Claude reaches E+ on his axes, granting him the ability Axe Prowess Lv 1. He obtains a perfect, earning him more motivation from Bambietta's praise. After two more instructions on axes, Bambietta moves on to swords, raising his sword rank and granting him the combat art Wrath Strike.

Bambietta calls Lorenz to her side and works on his Bow work. It was raised to E+, giving him the Ability Bow Prowess Lv 1.

Bambietta calls Raphael to her side and works on his Authority. He obtains a perfect, allowing Bambietta to praise him, getting him motivated again. After that, a minor work on axes and she calls it a day on instructing.

Bambietta returns Claude's goals to normal and begins her lecture.

Leonie approaches Bambietta. "Question, Professor!"

"Shoot."

"I don't care about being pretty or anything, but it bothers me that some people don't even realize I'm a girl." Leonie said.

"...That's not a question. Don't worry about it. They're wrong. Pay them no mind." Bambietta replied.

"Yeah! Absolutely!" Leonie exclaimed.

'Eh. She seemed motivated enough...' Bambietta thought.

Caspar approaches Bambietta. "I wanna blast through battle, cutting my enemies down left and right, and the best way to do that is with an axe! Help me train my axe skills so I can be a great Warrior!" He asked of.

"...You're already doing axes AND brawling, now you want JUST axes? Sure, you won't be as proficient, but no thanks. We gotta be diverse, you know?" Bambietta replied.

Bambietta notices that it's Anna's birthday. She's not going to recruit Anna, so, she won't buy her flowers.

Day 13

It's Lorenz's birthday. Bambietta buys him flowers.

Day 14

Claude and Marianne finish their duty, only doing good. Bambietta received 500 G and 3 Smithing Stones. Marianne's Flying level is now at E+.

Lorenz and Sylvain retreat from the two magic users after them.

Marianne heals Leonie.

Leonie retreats from the two magic users after her and Raphael while Raphael does the same.

Caspar waits for the two magic users.

Petra was attacked by one of the magic users, but avoids their attack.

"Yeah, Professor. You're definitely the MVP." Sylvain answered.

"Huh? But I barely did anything..." Bambietta pointed out.

Bambietta's renown was increased.

Day 16 of the Garland Moon

Monastery

Bambietta POV

Well, how I managed to get MVP in that fight, I'll NEVER know. Not that I'd want to. Anyway... Time for instructing. "Ignatz, come up, please." I asked of Ignatz who does so. Let's see... He's got a budding talent in Reason, huh? Better work on that.

So we did. Managed to get it to rank E+, giving him Reason Lv 1.

I call Hilda up and worked on her Heavy Armor skills.

I finish up with Leonie, working on her lances, Reason, Riding, and Brawling skills. I then begin my lecture.

Leonie comes up to me. "I love bows, of course, but archery alone will never make me an elite mercenary. If I want to follow Captain Jeralt's example, I need to hone my riding and lance skills." She told me.

Hmm... ...Nah.

Day 21 of the Garland Moon

Marianne and Claude did good. I received 500 G and three Smithing Stones. ...Wonder when I'm going to use these Smithing Stones... Either way, Claude got his Flying skills to D rank.

The students report their training findings to me.

Ignatz learned the ability Sword Prowess Lv 2.

So did Marianne.

Ferdinand learned the combat art Helm Splitter.

Caspar learned the combat art Rushing Blow.

Petra learned the ability Bow Prowess Lv 2.

Day 22 of the Garland Moon

It's Edelgard's birthday. Can't recruit her, so... I won't buy her flowers.

Suddenly, Seteth came by. "Hello, Professor. Remember that Intermediate Seal I told you about? Well, I've brought you another one in case you might need it." He said as he puts the silver seal on my desk.

"Sure, but, uh, what for?" I asked him.

"Why, for an intermediate exam, of course. You DO have someone in your house, which might include yourself, that can take such an exam, do you not?" Seteth answered.

"Yeah, I guess." I sighed.

"Well then. Until next time, Professor." He said as he leaves.

Might as well get quite a bit of people involved in getting their stuff.

Let's see... I can take an intermediate exam and do really well in... let's see... I can be a Mercenary, a Thief, a Cavalier, an Archer (FUCK YEAH, I WANT TO BE AN ARCHER), a Mage, a Priest, or a Pegasus Knight.

...I REALLY want to be an Archer. I really do. But I do need to heal... Gah! This is such a hard choice! Ugh... ...I should probably use another Intermediate Seal on me. It'll probably do me some good to register for something like... Thief, or something... For now, though... I'll go with... Priest.

And then I passed. I probably shouldn't change to this class. Not yet.

I sell the Bullions we obtained from the fight and buy the six Beginner Seals I needed to get.

First up, Lorenz. He can be a Soldier, a Fighter, or a Monk. The soldier and monk classes are guaranteed, but not Fighter... ...Monk.

Raphael can only be promoted to a Fighter. Not surprising, given that he's only been doing axes and brawling. Ooh! He passed and grew in Resistance!

Ignatz can be promoted to Myrmidon, Fighter, or Monk. Myrmidon and Fighter are guaranteed, but not Monk... Crap. Oh well. Myrmidon it is.

Marianne... Come on. You guys know who I'm promoting her to. Monk.

Leonie can be promoted to Soldier, Fighter, or Monk. Soldier and Fighter are guaranteed, but not Monk. Dammit. I flip another coin. It's heads. Soldier it is, then.

Next is Ferdinand. Myrmidon, Soldier, or Fighter. Myrmidon isn't guaranteed, but Soldier and Fighter are. I flip another coin. It's tails. Fighter it is, then. Oh, but he hasn't mastered his Noble class yet. ...Eh.

Caspar can only be promoted to Fighter. Again, not surprising.

Lastly, Sylvain. ...Again, Monk is not guaranteed... Fucking... Ah... I'll make due. I flip another coin. Heads. Soldier it is, then.

Well, time I get to exploring more. I should probably talk to that Jeritza guy. I go and do so. "Yo." I greeted him.

"What? I desired fresh air." Jeritza said.

"That's not like you." I pointed out.

"True..." Jeritza agreed.

An awkward silence filled the air. "So, uh, can I help you?" I asked him.

"Yes. I have a favor to ask. There is solitude on the battlefield...but there are limits to what one can achieve alone. To be stronger, more efficient...visit the battalion guild." He answered. I accept his request. I go to the battalion guild. The owner of this shop said I can hire battalions for anyone in my Golden Deer House and even replenish or dismiss battalions. I replenish the battalions that Claude, Hilda, and I have that took a beating.

For Lorenz, I hired the Church of Seiros Soldiers.

For Raphael, I hired the Seiros Mercenaries.

For Ignatz, I hired the Seiros Brawlers.

For Lysithea, I hired the Alliance Magic Corps.

For Marianne, I hired the Seiros Sacred Monks.

For Hilda, I hired the Seiros Holy Monks.

For Leonie, I hired the Alliance Brawlers.

For Ferdinand, I hired the Alliance Duelists.

For Petra, I hired the Alliance Infantry.

Guess that's it, huh? ...Wait a minute. Where'd I get all this money from? Ain't from the Church of Seiros, that's for sure... ...Huh... Lucky me.

I reported to Jeritza and he gave me a Steel Lance, some Poultry, some Noa Fruits, and some Renown.

On the way to the Cathedral, I spotted Ingrid. "We are truly blessed with how fertile the monastery grounds are. Every day, there's something new to harvest!" Ingrid pointed out to herself.

"I'm sure there is." I said to her, passing by.

"Good timing, Professor. there's actually something I want to speak with you about." Ingrid told me, stopping my advances to the cathedral.

"Go on." I urged.

"Will you put me in your class too?" Ingrid asked, making me raise one of my eyebrows in interest. "There are so many things I want to learn from you. Being in another class makes it especially challenging."

"Okay, Ingrid. I'll put you in my Golden Deer House." I declared to her.

"Thank you, Professor! I look forward to studying under you. I will be extra diligent with my studies. Thank you for this opportunity." Ingrid thanked. With that, Ingrid joined my House!

At the cathedral, I spot Ashe. "What's going to happen to Lonato? If he's killed, I... I don't know how I'll live with that." Ashe said to himself.

"Maybe if I take you with me, maybe you'll bear it a little more?" I offered him.

"What do you mean?" Ashe asked.

"Come to my Golden Deer House, Ashe." I asked of him.

"Huh? You're inviting me to join your class? I'm really flattered, honestly, but I still have a lot left to learn in my current one!" Ashe put down.

"Then... can you help us out in our mission at least?"

"Yes!" He nodded.

I went to the Dining Hall and did some cooking with Ashe. I feel like I can do more instructing and exploration. I also feel like I'm gonna get more money~! In that case...

I order Today's Special.

"Today's Special is Pickled Rabbit Skewers. Hunks of rabbit meat are pickled in bacchus, skewered, and roasted over an open flame to create this flavorful dish." The Dining Staff told me.

...Rabbit cruelty aside... I order the skewers with Claude and Lysie.

The bell tolls for my end of free time. Let's see if I can't recruit anybody else to my House...

Sure enough, I couldn't recruit anybody... Dammit... "Teach!" I suddenly heard. Claude was in front of me. Looks like he wants to say something.

"Hey, Teach. I see you're as stony-faced as usual." Claude said. Dude. I tried to recruit people only to be turned down almost EVERY SINGLE TIME. "Hmm. I can't tell if you're feeling resigned or if you're just lost in thought. Or maybe you simply don't care about anything that's going on. Oh... Sorry. I really didn't mean to be rude. I just find you fascinating. Actually, there's something I'd like to talk to you about. Can you spare some time?"

"Sure."

"That's just the sort of attitude I'd expect from a new teacher! Speaking of, before you came here, you were a mercenary, right? Always getting your hands dirty on the battlefield and whatnot? It's a bit unusual that you suddenly decided to become a teacher one day. In any case, I've been meaning to ask. Did your father teach you how to fight?" Claude asked.

"No, he didn't." I answered.

"Is that so? Well, I'm sure you grew up watching his fighting style, even if he didn't teach you directly. It must have been hard on your mother when you followed in your father's footsteps and became a mercenary too."

"I never knew my mother..." I grimaced.

"I see. I suppose you grew up moving from battlefield to battlefield with your father then... You know, for someone who's right around the same age as me, you certainly have an unusual amount of composure." Claude told. "I guess it's only natural that you'd be different from young nobles who grew up in the lap of luxury."

"You don't seem like a noble either."

"Ha! Well, even so, I am heir to House Riegan, the leading family of the Alliance. But I didn't exactly grow up in luxury like most people of noble blood. Hey, maybe that's why you and I get along so well. Folks like us should stick together. As house leader, I'll do all I can to help you out. We can start by making time for little chats like this." Claude suggested. I nod.

Now for the day to end...

Day 23 of the Garland Moon

Time for the Lesson Plan to begin again. I call Claude over first and told him to work on axes. He managed to get a perfect on one instance, making me praise him and allowing one more instruction. Sure enough, he got his axe skill up high enough for him to learn the combat art Smash. I instructed him on Reason as well, so he can learn magic.

I called Lysie over and told her to work on swords. She did perfectly on one instance, making me praise her to keep her motivated.

Next up, Ferdinand. I had him work on Heavy Armor. He gets a perfect and I praise him. After four instructions on heavy armor, I instructed him once on brawling.

Lastly, Caspar. I instructed him on Brawling.

After that, I began my next lecture. Ferdinand came up to me. "A noble must know how to ride a horse, to be certain, and should know how to wield a lance, as that is the most obvious weapon choice for a rider. As a noble among nobles, it seems natural that I focus on these two skills."

Narcissism aside... "Sure."

Day 28 of the Garland Moon

Marianne and Claude did a perfect job. I received 1,000 G and 5 Smithing Stones.

My students report their findings in their training.

Raphael learned the combat art Rushing Blow.

Ignatz learned the ability Close Counter.

Lysie learned the Magic Luna A. ...Or does that stand for Delta? She also learned the ability Authority Lv 2.

Hilda learned the combat art Helm Splitter and the ability Lance Prowess Lv 2.

Petra learned the combat art Bane of Monsters and the ability Sword Prowess Lv 3.

Ingrid learned the combat art Knightkneeler.

Day 29 of the Garland Moon

Okay. Let's go ahead and try another battle like the one at the plains. This time, in the forest. First, though, I gotta go through another Intermediate exam. This time, for Thief.

And so, I passed that exam.

After that, me and my Golden Deer went out to battle.

I went ahead and bought Lorenz a Training Sword, Lance, and Axe.

And so, we go to fight.

My students and I advance as carefully as we can, as to not incur the wrath of anyone that might be stronger than any of us.

One of the Fighters attacks and hits Raphael who counters.

One of the thieves attacks Lorenz who counters but gets struck a second time. Lorenz grows in strength and dexterity. ...Good lord, not again!

Another thief attacks Leonie who counters critically. She grows in maximum life energy, dexterity, defense, and charm.

Petra defeats the thief that attacked Raphael with Wrath Strike. She grows in maximum life energy, strength, and speed.

Leonie hits a Bishop and the Bishop beside him with Disturbance. Not bad, girl!

Ignatz hits the Bishop and the thief behind him with the same Gambit. He grows in dexterity and luck. Oh come on!

Ferdinand defeats the damaged Bishop with Tempest Lance. He grows in maximum life energy, strength, magic, luck, defense, and resistance. Now we're talking!

Sylvain, after getting hit, finishes off the Fighter Ignatz rattled. Sylvain grows in dexterity, speed, and resistance.

Mari finishes off another thief with her Training Lance. She grows in maximum life energy, magic, dexterity, and defense. She also obtained a White Verona.

Lorenz finishes off a thief. He grows in maximum life energy and luck. ...Maybe it's just him... or specific people... Either way, he's getting the short end of a stick...

Raphael attacks a Fighter twice and hits him twice before getting countered. Raphael grows in maximum life energy, strength, and dexterity.

Caspar takes Raphael's hand axe and throws it at the fighter that was attacked by Raphael and finishes that fighter off. He grows in maximum life energy and strength.

I hit a thief with Bolganone. I grow in speed, resistance, and charm. Another step forward.

The thief I attacked attacks Raphael twice. Raphael gets in a hit.

Raphael finishes off that thief with Smash. He grows in maximum life energy, strength, luck, defense, and charm.

I heal him with Recover, getting his life energy back to full.

The rest of my students advance carefully or wait for the enemy.

Ferdinand attacks and hits a Bishop, but the Bishop heals with Nosferatu, which means Ferdinand got hit by that. Ferdinand grows in maximum life energy, strength, and luck.

Mari finishes off that Bishop with some added help from her Crest. She grows in speed and luck. Come on, girl...

Leonie hits the fighter in the forest with her Steel Bow.

Sylvain finishes off that fighter.

The rest of us advance.

One of the archers attacks Sylvain who gets hit by the attack.

The rest of the enemies advance.

Sylvain gets revenge on the archer by striking him four times with his gauntlets. Sylvain grows in strength, magic, and defense.

Ignatz finishes off the archer. He grows in maximum life energy, strength, magic, dexterity, speed, resistance, and charm.

Leonie, after hitting another fighter, scores a critical on that fighter. She grows in maximum life energy, dexterity, and speed. She also received a Bullion which she sent to the convoy.

Mari attacks a mage with Wrath Strike but gets countered by fire.

Ferdinand shoots at the mage with his bow, but gets countered.

One of the fighters attacks Sylvain who dodges from the bushes. After scoring a hit, Sylvain scores a critical one, defeating the fighter. He grows in maximum life energy, strength, and defense.

The mage that was getting attacked attacks Leonie who dodges his fireball.

Ignatz finishes off the mage.

Mari attacks a mage with Nosferatu but gets countered twice.

Leonie shoots at the mage with Curved Shot.

I heal Sylvain.

Ferdinand uses a Vulnerary.

The rest of my students either wait or advance.

One of the mages attacks Lorenz twice. He hit him the first time, but Lorenz dodged the second fireball.

Real smooth of this guy to hide in the bushes. But Petra was able to beat him with Grounder. She grows in strength, dexterity, luck, and charm.

Mari heals Ferdinand. She grows in maximum life energy, magic, speed, and resistance.

The rest of us Golden Deer advance.

The enemies advance.

I attack one of the fighters with Fire twice. Lorenz finishes that fighter off with Fire.

Sylvain shoots another fighter twice.

Ferdinand finishes that fighter off. He grows in maximum life energy, dexterity, and speed.

Mari heals Lorenz.

Ignatz shoots at another Fighter. He grows in strength and speed. Dammit...

Petra gives Raphael her Training Bow and he uses that bow to shoot at the fighter Ignatz attacked and finish him off.

The rest of my students advance.

Ignatz attacks and hits an archer, Raphael finishes that archer off. Raphael grows in maximum life energy, strength, luck, and defense.

The rest of my students and I advance.

The leader, a fighter class, attacks me, but I'm so cool, I avoided it and shot a fireball at him twice. I finish him off for daring to attack me. I grew in speed, resistance, and charm. All right.

I received 6,400 G.

"Now this is more like it, everyone. Great job. Especially you, Ignatz. You were shooting a lot of our enemies down." I complimented Ignatz.

"No, I just got lucky..." Ignatz blushed gleefully.

"Lucky? Pfft! Luck is as much a part of the battlefield as... well... anything!" I told him.

Day 30 of the Garland Moon

All right. It's mission time.
