Emma in the middle- part 15

neongenesisevang asked for a oneshot of another instalment of "Emma in the middle" (the last being part 14, Ch2665) where… read and see.

Emma had to resist the strong urge to snap her bow in two. She never wanted to do archery ever again. She had humiliated herself out there on the field. She missed the target completely a couple of times. Emma didn't know if it made it worse or better that her parents hadn't been there, like the promised they would. All she knew when she got home was that her parents were still in the house. They were cosying up with Marali and Neal. This did not help Emma's urge to snap the bow, especially since neither seemed to notice what they had forgotten. The only person who really noticed that there was a problem with Emma, was Marali. She followed her little sister up to her room and badgered her until she got an explanation.

"I'm sure they didn't mean to forget." Marali said, sticking up for their parents. Emma snorted. "Oh come on Emma. Don't be a brat about it…"

"Be a brat about it?" Emma spat. She then laughed, of course Marali would suggest she was being a brat.

"Yeah, Emma, being a brat." Marali repeated herself. "This is the childish way to deal with it. What's the point in holding a grudge when they don't even know what the problem is? Why don't you actually try telling them what's wrong…"

"Oh you would suggest a nice, cosy little chat, wouldn't you?" Emma snapped. "That would be the easy way for perfect Princess Marali to solve it all. Especially seeing as you're their favourite." Emma snapped.

"Hey." Marali replied, offended. "Emma that is neither fair nor true." Emma snorted again. How could she not see it. Marali rolled her eyes. She was clearly wasting her time here.

"You're your own worst enemy sometimes. You know that?" She sighed, leaving the room and leaving Emma to feel more alone than ever before.
