Emma in the middle- part 16
A guest asked for a oneshot of a further instalment to the "Emma in the middle" series (the last being Ch2674, part 15) where…read and see.
Sorry to the other guest who asked for one, if I can't combine the requests it's first come, first served!
Emma's head was pounding. Her mouth had never felt so dry. The only reason she opened her eyes was to find out why there were other people lying down either side of her. She groaned when she realised it was her parents. Slowly, the events of the previous night started to come back to her. The started to come back a whole lot quicker when the thumping from her head moved to thumping coming up the stairs. Emma groaned as it got closer. It was Emma's groaning that woke her parents up just before Marali burst the door open with Neal close behind her.
"I am going to kill you!" Marali yelled. Charming quickly leapt out of bed, holding her back.
"Calm down." He ordered Marali and Neal.
"Calm down? She locked us in a damn closet!" Marali screeched. The volume made Emma feel like her ears were bleeding.
"Could this conversation wait a few hours?" Emma mumbled, rubbing her temple. "I have a killer headache."
"I'm not surprised." Neal scoffed. "You made an absolute fool of yourself yesterday. As if it wasn't bad enough to be the sister of the drunk, you locked us in a closet so everyone was laughing at us. It's not good enough, Emma." Neal told her off. Emma sighed. She wasn't in the mood for a lecture from her little brother.
"Whatever." She grumbled. With a flick of her wrist, she disappeared in a cloud of silver smoke. Marali looked ready to explode.
"Take some time, cool off." Snow instructed Marali and Neal. "Your dad and I will talk to Emma. She's in a fragile state just now." She explained. Marali stormed off, and the parents heard her slamming her bedroom door behind her. Neal trudged off behind her, heading towards his own room. Snow and Charming then made their way to Emma's room. As they suspected, she was curled up on her own bed.
"Well, at least you've learned the consequences of over-drinking." Charming commented. Emma groaned in response. "Emma, that was not the right way to react to your siblings. Like it or lump it, what you did to them last night was wrong."
"Can you blame me? Pair of goody-two-shoes…"
"Emma." Snow said warningly. "The right thing to do is apologise to Marali and Neal."
"The right thing to have done would have been to treat us equally, but that ship has sailed now, hasn't it?" Emma quipped back. Snow bit her lip. Emma wasn't feeling well and was still emotional. Now wasn't the time to have this conversation. They left Emma to be by herself and calm down. But Emma wasn't ready to calm down. All she could do then was cry. It was time for her to get out years of feeling less important.
When Marali and Neal tried to come up and talk with her two hours later, Emma was still crying. This hit home for her siblings. Deep down, they both had known for a long time Emma got less time than both of them. They should have put a stop to it instead of being selfish. But they hadn't. Now it was their turn to deal with consequences.
