Jamie snapped up on his childhood twin mattress, his breathing rapid, he looked around seeing his childhood bedroom, he tried to calm himself a bit, the nightmare he had just experienced just seemed so real. The collar of his t-shirt was soaked in sweat.

"Agh" Jamie groaned annoyed. Jamie used his uninjured hand running it through his hair. A soft knock at the door then it opened.

"Good to see you awake." Frank entered seeing Jamie already up.

"Hey." Jamie triedly mumbled.

"You're engulfed in sweat." Frank took closer steps. "Are you-"

"I'm okay, I just need to wash up." Jamie stood up.

"Let me change your bandages first." Frank mostly ordered than asked. Jamie struggled removing his shirt but he was able to do it soon after Frank changed his bandages for him. "Here's your medicine for the day." Frank handed him a bottle of water and a small cup with six pills inside.

"Thanks dad." Jamie gratefully replied.

Jamie took care of what he needed to and made his way downstairs, he walked into the kitchen and he noticed Eddie sat at the table. When their eyes met she immediately looked away, she was embarrassed, she kissed him last night and then ran off like some scared little girl. Jamie opened the fridge grabbing the carton of milk.

"You sleep well?" He sat at the table directly across from her with his favorite cereal. Her face blushed like hell. 'Why is he playing it so cool as if last night didn't happen.' she thought to herself

"Um yeah I did." She replied, Jamie nodded after her awkward response. "You?"

"Nope," She looked at him worried. "I couldn't sleep on my left side, I love sleeping on my left side. She laughed, his humor definitely lightened her mood.

"Listen-" They both began.

"Go ahead," Jamie put his spoon down, giving her his full attention.

"I apologize for kissing you, it was weird and… I'm sorry for that." She laughed awkwardly. Jamie sat there looking at her waiting for the go ahead. "You can talk now."

"Eddie it's fine okay, I'm not worried about it and neither should you." Eddie nodded. "We're good?"

"We're good." Eddie smiled agreeing. "I should get going, I have work."

"Safe tour." Jamie smiled.

"Thanks, take it easy today." Jamie nodded. Eddie left the home accompanied by one of Frank's security. Jamie continued eating his cereal, he laid his spoon down resting his face in his un-injured hand.

"Was it just nothing?" He asked himself in a whisper. It was something about last night or the intimate moment with her that's driving him crazy. After him and Eddie broke up in their freshman year of college it took Jamie awhile but he did start small intimate relationships with other women that just didn't do it for him, he even had a potential serious relationship with a girl he met at Harvard and still, in those months and all that time he didn't come close to feeling what he feels now, then.

"Was what nothing?" his father repeated snapping him out of wherever his mind had just gone, still with his father aging, his ears were sharp as ever.

"Nothing." Jamie slightly laughed. "You're heading out?" Frank nodded, pouring himself another cup.

"Okay great, i should probably get going-"

"You're not going anywhere." Henry appeared walking into the kitchen.

"What-" Jamie again couldn't finish his sentence.

"You will be confined to this house." Frank interrupted.

"So, what is this, I'm grounded?"

"I've got people up on the O.C. wires trying to find out more details, but for right now, yes, you are confined to this house."

"For how long?" Jamie felt like a kid.

"As long as it takes." Jamie's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Do I have a curfew? Can I stay up and watch Jon Stewart?"

"You think this is funny?"

"No, I think it's ridiculous; you wouldn't do this to any other cop caught in the same situation." Jamie argued

"I damn sure would. I just wouldn't have them move in with me."

"There's got to be something I can do besides just sit here."

"Well, my dining room chairs are a little wobbly. I have some Gorilla Glue in the garage. I'll see you tonight." Jamie growled irritated.

"You'd think it was him they put a hit out on."

"Take your worst fear, multiply it by 100, you're not even in the ballpark. You're not even in the parking lot next to the ballpark."

"Thanks. Big help." Jamie spat sarcastically.

"Look, you have to understand the way your father thinks. He's got such a deep sense of responsibility that when something goes wrong, he takes it personally. And his job is to put 30-odd thousand people in harm's way every day. Try juggling that."

"Okay, well, sometimes around here, it's like Danny's made of armor, and I'm made of toothpicks." He childishly compared

"Come on, he's an equal opportunity worrywart." Henry responded.

"How am I supposed to walk around with that on my shoulders?"

"That's for you to figure out. He's not gonna change…" Jamie sat in thought. "You clear, I'll clean."

"Bobby" Phil greeted, Noble stood beside his uncle watching his whole plan play out.

"What's going on Phil, I heard it involves sweet little Edit." Noble rolled his eyes, 'She's far from sweet' Noble thought to himself.

"Noble tells me she's being taken advantage of by one of her superiors." Phil looked to his left at Noble. All Noble could do is nod, he wanted Bobby involved but now that he's here, he's not sure if this was the right decision.

"We'll they're the same rank in the NYPD, he's just not a rookie." Bobby was about to say something. "But, I didn't want to tell Edit about you guys because she would be mad if I did."

"So we'll take the little bastard out." Bobby shrugged, dropping his bag." Phil nodded agreeing.

"You're not going to, you know…" Bobby's eyes squinted

"It's none of your business at this point." Bobby spat.

"His father is NYPD Commissioner Reagan." Noble's words brought a blank look to their eyes.

"Frank Reagan's kid?" Noble gulped.

"That changes things." Phil spoke in deep thought.

"I don't think it changes a damn thing," Bobby added, gaining their attention. "Edit father would want us to do this, I have a plan."

"Danny, we've looked over this ten times already." Baez complained.

"We're missing something." Danny was completely overwhelmed, how can he not find one thing to get Noble Sanfino at least in a room.

"I don't think we are." Baez said truthfully.

"O.C is on the wires trying to pick up chatter and you mean to tell me there's nothing, not a parking ticket, littering? hell i'll even settle for a truancy letter." Baez laughed.

"We're not going to get him this way, we have to be smarter.. he's one step ahead, we have to be two."

"And how the hell do we do that?" Danny eagerly asked.

"Give me some time to think about it." Danny rolled his eyes."But in the meantime you should reach out to him."

"Who?"

"Your brother Danny." Baez said

"And why would I do that?" Baez rolled her eyes, turning back to her computer.

"Tell me." Danny demanded.

"You're brother is probably scared not to mention he's hurting."

"Jamie is not scared."

"Did he tell you that?" Baez replied

"No but-"

"Exactly, just check in on him, I know you went to see him that night it happened but he was in shock of course he says he's fine."

"Nah, you don't know my kid brother, he doesn't need me." Danny was in denial. "Even if i reached out he'd ignore me."

"I don't think so." Danny rolled his eyes, who was Baez? his shrink? "That night he told you how he was working with Eddie again and the drama there."

"That was a little different." Danny tried to shoot her point down. "I tried to give advice and he ignored me and now he has third degree burns on his arm."

"Still Danny, it wouldn't hurt to try again." She turned back to her work. 'Was she right?' Danny thought, Danny does want to reach back out to Jamie, but for some reason unexplainable he can't, Joe would be ringing his neck if he was here to witness his failures over the years as Jamie's only surviving brother.

Jamie opened the door to Vinny's goofy smile. "I would think the president lived here with all the security out front." He handed Jamie the case of beer.

"Come in." Jamie smirked. "I can't drink."

"Shit." Vinny looked at him disappointed, he forgot Jamie is on pain medication. "Anyways, how is it being a housewife?" Vinny looked around his childhood home entering the kitchen.

"Incredibly boring, thanks for coming to hang out." Jamie and Vinny found themselves entering the backyard taking seats on the patio furniture.

"No problem... it's hell not having you as a partner." Jamie raised his brow. "Coleman is killing me." Jamie laughed.

"It's funny too, when we first met I couldn't stand you." Jamie honestly admitted.

"Back at you golden boy." Jamie's smile slowly disappeared. "But you're my brother now." Vinny spoke reacting to Jamie's reaction, Jamie hadn't said anything. "Are you good?" Vinny sat up.

"I'm- good." Jamie swallowed the lump in his throat. Vinny didn't buy it for a second. "You just said 'Golden boy'." Jamie finally looked at him. "It's been years since i've heard that."

"Joe." Vinny spoke his name, Jamie nodded. Vinny sat his beer down. "I'm sorry man."

"Me too." Jamie's emotions overcame him. Moments in silence showed that Jamie didn't want to carry the conversation topic.

"Talk to me." Vinny asked.

"Vinny," Jamie broke. "This stress man it's…" Jamie tried to calm himself. "It's driving me insane."

"Noble?"

"Not just him Vinny, it's everything. My brother, my mom, my childhood best friend… Eddie." Vinny didn't know how to respond. "I just feel so alone, man."

"You're not alone Jamie." Vinny reminded him. "I'm here for you."

"I know you are and i'm grateful for you, truly."

"Why do you feel alone." Vinny asked.

"The lost." Jamie answered keeping his tears at bay. "I lost four of the greatest people to me."

"One of them is back." Vinny interrupted.

"But the other three i will never get back, and I need them… I know death is an inevitable part of life. I get that, but when you lose so many of those you hold so close in a five year span. it's contradicting isn't it? i have another brother left and I can hardly even speak to him." Jamie's hands covered his face. "It's all tearing me to pieces Vin." Vinny stood up walking towards Jamie. Jamie looked up at him confused.

"Stand up." Vinny said in a way that wasn't asking. Jamie slowly stood up.

"What?" Jamie asked awkwardly. Vinny put a hand on Jamie's shoulder.

"We haven't known each other for long, at first we were partners but you're my brother now Jamie, I don't ever want you to feel alone, I'm sorry you're carrying all of this alone." Jamie nodded, "Give me a hug." Vinny hugged him, it definitely was a hug Jamie needed. "Family is far more than just blood Jamie." Vinny broke the hug.

"Thanks Vinny." Jamie nodded sitting back down. Vinny returned to his seat.

"Jamie, you have to make things right with the only brother you have left… Danny." Jamie looked around.

"You know, me and Danny are brothers, yes, but he doesn't care."

"How could you tell." Vinny asked, sparking a reaction from Jamie.

"How can i tell? Jamie repeated. "History! Danny was never there when I needed him, from the time I lost my Mom to Joe, he's ignored me, Vinny."

"You do realize you're not the only person who's lost someone," Vinny spoke the painful truth, maybe pushing you away and outing you is his way of grieving."

"That's a real shitty way." Jamie replied, not at all understanding the point that he was trying to make.

"But you do the same in a similar way no? with the rest of your family." Jamie sat there in silence. "People can only do so much for someone when it's obvious that person doesn't want their help." Jamie's looked at him, his eyes glazed.

"I didn't make myself this way Vinny."

"And i know but one thing i do know is… Jamie, you need your brother." Jamie became Irritable.

"He doesn't need me, he never has." Jamie held on to his version of reality. "Even after our mom died Vin, he excluded me, Joe's death was no better, he really doesn't care."

"I hope that isn't true."

"Me too." Jamie stood up, walking off.
