When Eric stepped through his apartment door, he hadn't expected for someone to be behind it. His hand got caught midair, and he let out a shriek when suddenly his fingers were intertwined with a set of others. Eric had missed the smirk on Brian's face though, as he turned the blond around and blindfolded him, making sure he couldn't even peak past the material.
"So-." Brian leaded him Eric away from their hallway, and into their living room. Eric's coat and bag had been handed off to the other man beforehand, but he'd dumped them on the stairs. Brian would take care of those later, he just hoped he'd remember to. More important matters were at hand now. "I've notice how you haven't been feeling quite like yourself lately. Shush, Eric, I can sense if there's something wrong with you, we're married for a reason, remember?" He silenced the man's attempt at protesting before Eric could even open his mouth.
"So I took the job of trying to make you feel a bit better upon me, it's the least I can do as your husband. Besides, I hate to see you sad in any way, even if it's just a little. So, I went out shopping today, got you a few things, and even made your favorite dinner. Now don't start on how it was my first day off in a while, I enjoyed doing this for you, E, it wasn't that much of a big deal. After dinner, we can cuddle and watch all of your favorite movies, although you have quite a lot, but I'm sure we'll make it at least halfway through without falling asleep. I'm even willing to light some of those horrible scented candles you somehow can't get enough off, even if I hate the smell of them."
Brian gently removed blindfold from Eric's head, and it took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but when they did, he was blown away. The most beautiful thing was standing in front of him, Brian really had pulled all the stops to make him feel better.
And he succeeded, by far.
The table was completely covered with rose petals, a small bouquet of roses placed in the center, and numerous candles were lit. In other words, it looked absolutely gorgeous. Eric simply couldn't believe his eyes and had trouble wrapping his mind around what his view looked like. Brian had gone above and beyond to help him get his feelings back in track, even though he had no clue of what's been going on in Eric's head for the past few days. The man really couldn't believe any of this, and couldn't help but wonder what he did to deserve someone as amazing as his husband was.
"Brian, I-." Eric tried to speak, say anything to thank Brian for doing this, but was left speechless. Instead, he chose to turn around and threw his arms around him, holding the brunet as tight as he could. For his luck, he'd been aware Brian already knew what his next move was without even having to speak up, and for that reason he held him even tighter. "It looks stunning, thank you so much. I love you, B. Thank you for knowing me."
In return to his words, a soft kiss was placed on the spot just behind his ear, and Eric could barely keep a moan from escaping. Afraid of breaking the moment, Brian whispered. "Always. I love you too, Eric, so much. It killed me knowing you were in pain but didn't bother talking about it. Just know I'm always there for you, just like you're there for me at all times. I've wanted to do this for over a week, but couldn't find the time. Whether it was work or something else interrupting, every free moment got taken away. I'm sorry I couldn't do it sooner, sweetheart."
"Are you kidding me? Honey, this is amazing. I can't thank you enough for doing this." Eric moved away from his lover's hold, but never left completely, only letting Brian's arms drop from his back to his waist. His hands gently caressed the brunet's cheeks, staring right back into those beautiful honey colored eyes. Eric loved this man so much he was afraid his heart was going to burst, and yet the man couldn't see how amazing he was himself. The only thing Brian could think about was of not being able to do this sooner? God, this man was mental.
A chuckle left Eric's lips before he placed them upon Brian's. Of course, Brian was already aware of this action as well, and it didn't take long for him to reciprocate the feelings. Eric couldn't help but roll his eyes, sometimes he wondered if there even were secrets left that Brian hadn't discovered yet. Both men melted in the kiss, completely losing track of time as they breathed in each other's air.
"Now, we don't want for this amazing dinner to grow could, do we?" Eric was the first one to pull away reluctantly, knowing full well of where things might lead if they kept kissing. Not that he minded, he certainly didn't, but the sight of all this food had left him extremely hungry. It'd be a waste of all the time Brian spent on this if they simply threw it out just to have sex. The blond chuckled as he saw a pout grow on Brian's lips of the loss of his, and placed one soft kiss on the before completely moving away.
"Shall we then, my dear?" Brian hooked his arm around Eric, and smoothly moved them to the table. He even pulled out Eric's chair before he sat on it, a gentleman as always.
Hours late the two found themselves wrapped up in a blanket, some old musical playing on the background. Neither paid attention to it though, they only had eyes for each other. Eric silently thanked whatever God was listening for blessing him with such a wonderful husband. Words didn't even have to be spoken for Brian to understand what he meant or needed. The brunet somehow sensed every mood shift Eric went through, and was happy to assist him with whatever he needed.
Eric couldn't imagine what life without Brian was like anymore, but luckily he never had to again. His husband would be there for him, until the end of the line.
