Chapter 6

No one's POV

The next morning Lucy and Sting were sent into town to get more supplies for camp. Sting sulked as they walked through the forest upset that he lost to Rogue in a battle.

They were deciding who would accompany Lucy to town. And decided who ever won the battle would stay and the loser would go. They had been neck and neck through most of the fight until Rogue surprised Sting with a new skill he developed over training called Dark Night. He surrounds him and the opponent in a cube of shadows then uses the darkness to his advantage and knocks the opponent out. Sting sulks because of this.

"Come on Sting don't get so down about that lose. You'll get him next time." Lucy said in an attempt to cheer him up. Sting sighed "Alright Lucy I'll challenge him when we get back and then kick his arse." his voice filled with determination at the last statement. Lucy smiled at that but it was not like her smile when she first joined her ex guild but a smile nonetheless. He grinned back at her then quickly snatched her hand and took off toward their destination.

When they arrived the two walked to a market near by. "Okay, so what are we gonna buy…?"

"Well we should get some fruits and vegetables, then...uh...Sting what are you doing?"

"I smell something fishy." He said as he crouched on the ground to sniff it better. "Hurry Blondie I smell fresh fish we could buy for Frosch and Lector!"

"Wait for me!" They ran for a few moments and stopped at a stall that looked to just have opened. Lucy stood beside Sting as he ordered the fish. "Hey Blondie hold the basket."

"What…? Did you call me Blondie…? Wait! You want me to hold the basket of fish that probably weighs over a hundred pounds! NO WAY!" Sting huffed a fine and kept walking. They picked up the supplies and headed back to the camp. By the time they got there it was two in the afternoon. They set the bags and baskets down and rested for a while.

"Hey Yukino you wanna head over to the pond and train with me?" Lucy asked as she'd got up from the log she'd been sitting on. "Yeah, sure Lucy" Lucy smiled and they walked the path chatting. They did the usual run and stretches then started on their magic. Meanwhile on the other side of the pond. Rogue and Sting were in battle.

The fight started out with only fists then gradually became a magic fight. Sting dodged a Shadow dragon roar before being caught in the Dark Night again. Sting let out a deep sigh.

"Come on Sting think." He said to himself under his breath. He closed his eyes and listened for a shift in the wind. He could hear Rogues chuckle as he watched him. He threw magic attacks at the places he thought he was but missed and would get hit by Rogue instead. "Come on Sting I know you've thought of a plan use it already." Rogue said as he whizzed past Stings ear. "Alright I'll use it." He said between pants. Sting summoned his magic to surround his figure as a source of light the cube of black shadows slowly started to turn a greyish color. "Smart move Sting"

"Thanks buddy!" He said as he turned in the direction of Rogue. Simultaneously they sent a roar and got sent back from the aftershock breaking the Shadow Night. They lay motionless a few feet away as the girls and the exceeds run towards them. Lucy arrived a second before Yukino and put Sting on her right shoulder as Yukino did the same for Rogue. It took them a few minutes but they arrived at the camp and set Rogue and Sting in their tent. Lucy, Yukino and Virgo Helped bandage their wounds.

"Sting, Rogue this is training so try to tone it down a bit okay?" Lucy said as she wrapped Stings biceps

"Ow Lucy not to tight that hurt." Sting complained. Lucy sighed

"You two are lucky Sting and I went to the market today or else you would have had to stop training for a while." Everyone in the tent other than Lucy let out small chuckles because of how motherly she was being. Sting sat facing Lucy as she cleaned a cut on his cheek. She looked better than from when they first met but she still seemed pretty sad as if something was eating at her emotions. She had scars not to visible but there if you knew where to look. Her most visible one is the one on her hand that he was sure was never going to disappear. Jeez I hope Lucy knows she's strong because, damn is mental and physical pain a tough pill to swallow.
