New Chapter

Conflicted

After Christmas, Blaine felt like he'd really gotten to know Burt so much better. Blaine knew, since first meeting him, he was a great guy, full of love for his son, that was evident in how he talked with him. He had patience and understanding he'd shown towards, not only Kurt, but Blaine as well. With all things considered, It had been a lovely Christmas. All three of them had spent a lot of the end of the month at Kurt's dads, trying to find any information about why Kurt continued to get overly hot when he and Blaine would connect physically.

They found, from experience, that the break they took several weeks earlier, had helped. Kurt and Blaine had been intimate 5 times after that break, and in those 5 times, Kurt had been okay. There was heat, but only the expected and best kind of heat, during their play, but by the 6th time, his temperature spiked again. It scared and disappointed both of them. Kurt had been so upset at himself, blaming himself for not being able to control his stupid body's reaction, and being so concerned that it might hurt Blaine somehow, that he moped around the house for three days, only talking when totally necessary. Blaine hadn't heard him excited about his line, K Enterprises, when he spoke over the phone with Brittany, his secretary and second in command, in over a week. Usually, when Kurt would talk with anyone about his designs, he'd smile and bounce on his toes in excitement for any new piece that was coming to fruition, or a design that was being completed. Blaine hadn't seen Kurt sketch any new designs, for far to long, and he began to miss the old Kurt. That was when he called on the other Dom in his life, Burt, and asked for him to come over and to help. He needed him to help him, help Kurt. Blaine had been, and continued to be, so thankful for Burt's dominance, it really helped. It amazed Blaine to know that Burt had never taken on a Sub of his own. Burt had only ever been with Kurt's mom, and she had been an Unlabeled. Blaine figured that Kurt had adopted much of his ideas , about owning a Sub, from his father. It was the barbaric way in with society allowed Subs to be trained in facilities, such as the one Blaine had been at, and the stripping of their identities down to nothing, but a Dom's property in the world, that had kept them from wanting to own a Sub of their own. Blaine considered his good fortune once again. He was brought into this family with open arms, as Kurt's Sub, as if it was not a big deal or going against their beliefs whatsoever. Burt not only accepted Blaine, he'd taken the time to get to know him and love him, for the Sub he was. He knew it had been the man's deep love for his son, that opened Burt up to Blaine, because Blaine was what Kurt wanted. But, through all this, Blaine and Burt had developed a special relationship of their own. Burt learned to trust Blaine's instincts about Kurt. Blaine was typically able to pick up on what Kurt was dealing with, and his overall mood, more quickly than others could. It wasn't like Burt couldn't still read his son, but Blaine seemed to have an uncanny knack of knowing when Kurt was really struggling. Today was one of those days.

Blaine had used one of his many gifts, he'd received that Christmas, to call Burt. Kurt was really not doing well that day. He'd been despondent all morning, not even getting himself up and out of bed. They were both struggling with having to take another break from sex with each other. It had been two weeks, and Kurt was taking it the worse this time around. Blaine was doing his best to encourage Kurt, reminding him that it wasn't his fault and that he loved him regardless of their needed breaks. He apologized profusely to Blaine about not being himself, but he just wasn't able to pull himself out of his funk. Blaine really missed his Dom.

Burt had picked up the call after the second ring, he'd seen the incoming caller ID on his screen, and was thankful, once again, that he'd purchased the phone for his son's Sub. He knew it was something he would need, especially to call Burt anytime he'd need to. "Hey Kiddo, what's going on? Kurt ok?"

Blaine explained the state Kurt had been in and asked him to please come over, when he could. They both could use his help. Burt told him he'd be there shortly and he could hear the relief in Blaine's voice. He packed a quick bag, just in case he'd need to stay over the night, and headed out of his house shortly after that. On the drive over, Burt went over his tentative plans for his son and Sub.

Kurt laid his head on his pillow that felt too warm. He wasn't burning up, but Kurt knew he wasn't back to normal either. He'd been keeping it to himself, not letting Blaine get close enough, to feel that he hadn't cooled down as quickly as he previously had, when they'd remedied it with a break before. He couldn't decide which was worse, the intense pull towards his Sub, that he had to unwillingly quell, or the secretive worry about what was still happening to him physically and inadvertently to Blaine. It was becoming to much to bare, and Kurt was sadly becoming lost in the depths of despair. If he couldn't figure this out, and if he couldn't find an answer to all of this, he didn't know what he'd do. He wanted to push himself to be better, to be the Dom he knew Blaine needed him to be, but he didn't know how to then. When he'd been learning his new role, as a Dom to Blaine, he'd thought he'd been starting to get it - starting to understand what he should do in certain circumstances as a Dom, but since the issue of their true pairing had shown itself to be, not just a blessing, but a curse as well, Kurt had lost his way. He felt horribly about leaving Blaine afloat on his own, without his guiding hand, but how could he guide when he, himself, felt lost and questioned where to go from there? He was waiting in the dark for a lighthouse to appear, on the seaside of hope, and guide them to shore. It just so happened that that beacon of light showed up in the form of a knock on Kurt's front door.

Burt looked up expectingly at Blaine, who was sitting next to him on the downstairs couch, silently asking if he was expecting anyone. Blaine shook his head and Burt told him to get up and get the door. When he opened the door, a Mail delivery guy stood there with a large manila envelope in his hand. It was addressed to Kurt Hummel and it needed a signature to be delivered. Just then, Kurt made his way down the stairs, surprising the men with the sound of his voice.

"Who's there?" He asked aloud to anyone willing to answer him. Burt was the first to look back at him. "Delivery of some sort." Burt stated. Kurt nodded his head and headed towards the door at the same time Blaine was walking the envelope over to him. Kurt didn't take the envelope right away, he just stared straight ahead as if he was still waking up.

"It's for you, Sir." Blaine told Kurt and handed it to him. Kurt thanked him and looked down at it. It was addressed to him from the Sub-house's address. Blaine looked expectedly at him, both staring down at the envelope. Burt then walked over to them, when neither of them moved to open it. He read the sender's name: Hunter Clarrington.

"What do you think this is all about?" Burt asked.

Kurt sat up a bit straighter, where he'd sat down on the edge of the coffee table. "I'm not sure, Dad. But, I hope it's some more information that can help us with the whole true pairing stuff." He flicked his eyes up to meet Blaine's.

Blaine looked undisturbed in finding that Hunter had again corresponded with Kurt. Hunter had surprisingly proved himself extremely useful in helping them find out as much as they had, so far, about True Pairing relationships. Blaine had to admit, that and he was thankful for that, and for anything new he might have to share with them then.

"I emailed him earlier this week." Kurt spoke more to the opened paperwork than to either Blaine or his dad. Inside he read a brief greeting and a statement that Hunter hoped the enclosed documents would be of some assistance to Kurt. He also included a request to please keep in touch after he read through it, to let him know how they were doing, and if he could be of anymore assistance to please not hesitate to email him again. When Kurt flipped to the next page the heading read: Submissive 5222 Documentation : Levels

Browsing it quickly, Kurt realized What he was looking at. He held the record of Blaine's touch points, levels and counts. His touch points were documented items and events that had turned him on the least to the greatest. There was a list of what activities and scenes, that brought about the most submission from him, and check points and line graphs of his endurance levels and stamina counts.

Kurt began to feel conflicted, as if he were intruding on something that he didn't yet have permission to be seeing. He looked over to Blaine and surmised that Blaine had probably not removed his eyes from Kurt the entire time he had been reading. Kurt flicked his eyes over to his dad, Burt just waited patiently to hear more from Kurt. "I think it's best that I talk with Blaine first before I read any further into this." He told them both.

Blaine looked concerned, and bit his bottom lip, but nodded his approval. Before following Kurt upstairs, he asked that Burt stay, and wait for them to finish. Burt assured them both that he'd stay and wait for them to return.

In their room Kurt explained what it was, that Hunter had sent, and that Blaine should examine it, and should decide what, if anything, that Kurt should be privy to. If Blaine decided to let Kurt see any of the intimate details, then he would look closer at them then, but not before Blaine had his say about them first. Blaine thanked Kurt and tentatively took the envelope from Kurt. He wanted to dive in and kiss Kurt, like he'd been wanting to do for the last 10 days, but Kurt had shied away from that. He had explained that it was too heartbreaking to not be able to take things further. Blaine felt like there was probably more to it though, when Kurt had also shot him down about holding hands, as they so often had before Kurt's last heat episode. Kurt got up to leave Blaine to the paperwork, but Blaine stopped him.

"Kurt?" He spoke to Kurt's back.

"Yes?" Kurt turned around, looking defeated.

"You're going to have to let me touch you soon. You know that right?" Blaine's eyes pleaded with Kurt.

"I know." But the absence of any anticipation was evident in his response. He softly closed the door behind him, leaving Blaine alone with his thoughts and the Sub-house paperwork.

Blaine looked at what Hunter had sent. He thumbed through it, seeing the report but not getting any further into it than Kurt had downstairs. He tossed it aside and buried his head in the pillow. He held it tight to himself and cried. He cried for Kurt. He cried for what they'd been missing together, and he cried for not knowing any answers to how to fix things. He hoped Burt would talk with Kurt and come up with some sort of a new game plan for them. He needed his Dom and he needed Kurt to participate in their relationship that they'd built so far. Mostly he wanted to feel Kurt's touch again, and the opportunity to hold and comfort one another. He cried until he was all cried out.

Kurt knew his dad was right, he couldn't keep this up for much longer. His dad had told him that he had to find a way to pull himself out of his funk and to care for Blaine. Kurt looked into his dads eyes, from the chair he chose to sit in, that was far enough from Burt that he wouldn't notice Kurt's temperature. He nodded his agreement and told his dad that maybe there'd be something in what Hunter sent to lead them in the right direction. He wasn't sure of that, though.

"I just want to be able to be with Blaine without fear of what that could mean to either of our health, Dad." Kurt cried out.

"I know that, Bud." Burt said sympathetically. Burt got up, approaching his son, but Kurt was quick and stood and walked off towards the kitchen. "I'm going to make lunch. I've got ham for sandwiches and salad makings. You hungry?"

Burt acknowledged that he could eat, and moved to sit at the counter, while Kurt prepared the food. He watched Kurt and thought about how peculiar Kurt had been acting. It was not like him to avoid physical contact with Burt, and even more strange that he'd been so obviously avoiding his Sub's touch as well. He was two bites into his sandwich when Burt finally figured it out. "You're still running a temperature and you're trying to hide it, aren't you, Kurt?"

Kurt shot his eyes up to his and stared.

"The look on your face is a good enough answer for me." Burt sighed, "Why Kurt? You should be telling us and letting us help you. I think it's better if we all knew exactly what we're dealing with." He reached across the counter, to where Kurt stood, eating his food, and grabbed his hand to hold it.

Kurt didn't flinch back this time, there was no reason too, not now that his father had figured out what he was trying to hide. It was a relief, to not be hiding it from him anymore, and he squeezed his father's hand in return. "I don't want to give you guys another reason to worry, I'm afraid it will scare Blaine and, I don't know, I was just hoping it would run its course and I wouldn't need to mention it."

"Stop trying to carry all of this on your shoulders alone." Burt looked poignantly at Kurt, but with a kind, understanding, and soft expression.

Kurt sighed and took back his hand to lift his fork full of salad, "Now you sound just like Blane."

"The kid's smart, Kurt; why don't you listen to him?"

"It's my job to protect him and..."

"And what, Kurt? You don't think Blaine's already worried? Worried just as much as you are? As I am? I'm here to tell you he is, Kurt, and you pulling away from him, to try to hide this, is not helping. Actually, it's probably doing more damage than any good. Blaine needs you and you need him, especially right now."

"I know." Kurt conceded. "I just didn't want to admit that it's worse this time, when all I wanted was for it to get better, or... go away all together. I do miss him dad, I miss him a lot and I just want to hug him and, and more..."

"Well, why don't you start with the hug, but hold off on the 'more' for just a little bit longer." Burt said understandingly.

"Til when, though? If the temperature doesn't break soon, when I dominate Blaine it's only going to make me burn him when I do. I'm more concerned about hurting him, than I am with what the heat could do to me - to my brain."

"I'm concerned enough for the both of us as to what it could do to you. Kurt, do you even know how high your temperature reached the last time?" Burt was concerned.

"I don't know, dad. But I was hotter than any other time I can ever remember running a temperature." He answered sadly. "The strangest thing is, I don't ever feel sick, or bad at all. It's the exact opposite, actually. I feel physically excellent and strong, never better even."

"Yeah, I remember you telling me that the last time too. Still, it's something we don't know anything about. You need to continue to be careful. What we do know, is the True Pairing is something great, something wonderful that you two share, as long as you don't let it get out of hand. As long as you control it and you don't let it control you."

"That's what I'm trying to do, dad." Kurt pouted.

"I know you are, son, but you'll do so much better by including, and listening to, your Sub. Stop pushing him away. Where's Blaine anyway? He's taking awhile."

Kurt explained that he left Blaine upstairs to look over the packet and to decide what he felt comfortable sharing with Kurt. He grabbed the extra sandwich and bowl of salad, he made earlier for him, and told his dad to make himself comfortable and suggested he watch the game on the TV, then he headed upstairs to find Blaine.

Blaine was laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling. He acknowledged Kurt with a quiet hello and a thank you for the food Kurt laid down on the side table. The two stared at each other for a bit, neither knowing how to start the conversation. Kurt sat down next to Blaine, and held out his hand to him, which surprised Blaine, but he gladly accepted it. Kurt didn't need to say a word, Blaine felt the the heat radiating from Kurt's hand. He just squeezed it hard and looked at him with understanding eyes. They sat like that for awhile and Kurt felt comfort in Blaine's touch. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I'm afraid, because it hasn't broke yet, and I was just hoping it would, and that I wouldn't need to upset any you further."

Blaine shook his head and reminded him that he was there for him. They sat quietly as Blaine ate. Kurt eventually excused himself to take a cool shower. Blaine called to him when he reached the door. "Miss you, Sir."

Kurt understood that he meant so much more than just then, and told him he loved him as he left to take that shower.

When Kurt returned he was wearing a towel around his waist. He maneuvered around the room getting the articles of clothing from his dresser drawers. Afterwards, he sat at his vanity and did his moisturizing routine. Over halfway through, he commented on the quietness in the room. "I can feel you thinking from over here."

Blaine could only blush and nod.

"Ok, Blaine, Sweetheart, you've been lost in your head since I gave you the paperwork. Please tell me what you're thinking." Blaine felt the soft command behind Kurt's request. Kurt patiently waited, staring at Blaine, until Blaine met his gaze. His Dom's eyes were demanding, but still held warmth. Blaine opened his mouth to reply, "What if I fuck you?" came spilling out of his mouth. Kurt sat stone still, for longer than Blaine felt comfortable with, and he stammered.

"I...I.."

Kurt motioned to him to stop talking with his hand. He fidgeted in his chair. It's not that he was opposed to the idea of Blaine topping, there just hadn't been a reason to consider this an option, until now. Blaine tentatively walked over to the chair, and stood next to Kurt, watching his Dom intently for any signs of frustration or anger. He found none, so he stood and waited for Kurt to think things through. After sitting quietly for over a minute, Kurt reached for Blaine's hand, and they held each other's hands atop the vanity for several more minutes. Kurt recalled what his father had said, 'listen to your Sub.' Maybe this could work, maybe Kurt could be close to Blaine without his temperature rising out of control if he wasn't the one controlling and dominating Blaine.

"I think we could try that." Kurt said, to Blaine's great relief, and he fell into his Masters lap. Kurt held him there and hoped, against hope, that this would work out for them. He was so hungry for anything between him and Blaine. He kisses him and then Blaine couldn't help asking, "When?"

"Tonight." Kurt figured they might as well try it as early as possible.

Blaine's cock jumped in his pants in agreement. "Yes, Sir!"

They both got up and walked downstairs to be with Burt, leaving the paperwork laying open, mostly unread, on the side table nearest the bed.
