No need for a saviour- part 2
Maritza asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2703 "No need for a saviour" where Snowing are explaining to Emma who they are. She's angry at first, but ends up being happy that they came and got her.
Emma looked up when she heard footsteps in her room. She was confused as she hadn't heard the door open at all. Whoever it was, they weren't taking her Walkman. But instead of a sneaky foster sibling, what Emma saw just about made her fall off the bed completely. Where the chest of drawers had been, there was now a mysterious doorway that seemed to lead right outside. But it didn't look like anywhere around here. It didn't look like any place Emma had ever seen before. But the weird doorway wasn't the only strange thing. No, as well as that, there were now two strange adults in Emma's bedroom. A man and a woman, holding hands. They were both smiling at Emma. She was so shocked she didn't notice the tears in either of their eyes. She ripped her headphones off, leaving Boyz II Men still blaring out them on her bed.
"Who are you?" Emma questioned them. "How did you get in here?" Snow and Charming froze. This was it. This was their moment. How did they answer such big questions in so little time before the portal closed?
"We will answer all your questions, Emma." Charming promised her. He reached his hand out. "But we need you to come with us." Emma backed away.
"No way! Stranger danger!" She screamed. Snow and Charming began to panic. If someone came up here, they would never get their daughter back.
"Emma, please." Snow said calmly. "Can you trust us?" Emma looked between them both. She knew when people were lying, or when they were going to hurt her. She knew a bad foster home before her social worker even left. She wasn't getting any triggers from these two. Aside from the weird door to nowhere. She quietened down and listened to what they had to say. Snow and Charming relaxed slightly.
"Emma, we know this is going to be hard to understand…but we're your parents." Charming said. Emma's eyes became big as dinner plates. She felt like her heart plummeted to her stomach. She shook her head in denial.
"No, you can't be." She croaked. "My parents never wanted me." Snow and Charming shook their heads frantically.
"No, Emma, that's just not true." Snow told her. "We were made to give you away. We had to so you would be safe."
"But it's safe to take you back now." Charming added. "We can be a family. Will you come with us? We promise, if you're not happy, we'll take you back home." Emma winced. Home? She'd been here four months. She had no home. How could they not know that when they gave her away supposedly for her own safety this was the life she would lead. Didn't they know anything about the system or the kids that got lost in it?
"You left me." Emma said quietly, not able to look at either of them. "Why should I trust that you won't do it again?" Snow and Charming both felt their hearts shatter into tiny pieces. Was this the lot their daughter had been dealt thus far? So bad that she couldn't trust at all?
"We didn't have a choice then." Charming answered her. "We do now. We choose you, Emma. We never want to leave you alone again." He held his hand out. He knew the portal would close soon, but he didn't care if it did. If he and Snow had to run and hide in some remote corner somewhere, then so be it. At least they'd be together. But as it happened, Emma hesitantly took his hand. They promised they'd take her back if it didn't work out. She figured she ought to give them a chance. Charming wrapped his hand around Emma's as she scrambled off the bed.
"Come on." Snow said, grinning as she placed a hand between Emma's shoulder blades and guided her towards the doorway. Emma dragged her feet slightly, scared of the unknown.
"It's ok." Charming promised her. "This door will take you home." Emma nodded. Home. The last time she'd had a home she was three years old. Maybe it was time to remember how nice that felt. She picked up her feet once more and, with her parents on either side, walked through the door to Storybrooke. To home.
