Darkness in the family- part 2

Oncefan123 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2684 "Darkness in the family" where Snow and Emma are hiding away from everyone. Snow decides she wants to have some quality time with Emma before they bring the rest of their family to be with them. Snow wants to make up for the lost years with Emma with some mother/daughter bonding. Emma goes along with her mom's plans for the time being.

Now that everyone remembered, Snow understood the dark urges she had been having since they got back from Camelot. She had put it all down to the tiny spot of blackness she had on her heart from Cora's death, but it all made so much more sense now.

Originally, she had been angry at Emma. How could her daughter not have told her? How could she have made this decision on Snow's behalf? But after a few days past, Snow saw it more as an opportunity. She was now equally as powerful as Emma. Their dark powers were forged from the same magical sword. For the first time, Emma would be unable to run from her. Snow was going to use that to her advantage.

She and Emma had been hiding out in an uninhabited house in Storybrooke. Together, they had been working on ways to control both their powers and their dark urges, as well as working out a plan to bring their family back together again. Snow decided they could take a few hours off from those tasks. It was time for she and Emma to have a heart to heart.

"You're still angry at me for giving you away." Snow said one evening. It wasn't a question, it was a statement. Emma looked up from the potions book she had been studying. Snow stared back at her. Emma sighed, putting the book down.

"Really?" Emma snapped. "You're choosing to do this now?"

"Well Emma, you don't exactly respond any time I bring the subject up." Snow pointed out. Emma rolled her eyes. She didn't have to deal with this.

"Whatever." She grumbled. She flicked her wrist, trying to teleport away, but found she stayed in the same spot. Her eyes widened.

"That's not going to work. Not this time." Snow told her. "We're equally as strong magically now. For once, you can't avoid this." Emma jumped off the couch and tried (both manually and with magic) to open the door. It wouldn't budge.

"You've locked me in here?!" Emma squeaked. "Let me out!"

"No." Snow responded simply. "I don't know for how long we're going to be on equal pegging when it comes to magical strength, so I intend to use the time wisely. You're not leaving until we talk this through." Emma sighed. She stomped back into the living room and began pacing.

"Fine." She growled. "Ask your stupid questions." Snow raised an eyebrow. She wasn't a fan of this attitude, but it was better than nothing.

"Well you heard me the first time, I'm sure." Snow stated. "You're still angry at me and your father for giving you away."

"Well of course I'm angry at that. No matter the circumstances, a small part of me will always be angry at that. Can you blame me? I was an orphan for twenty eight years and I didn't even have to be. I know it was to protect me from the curse, but don't lie, part of it was so the curse would be broken as well. You both knew I was the only one who could break it, so you sent me away. Of course that's going to sting." Emma responded. Snow stayed cool. She had been expecting this reaction. She just had to tease it out of her.

"We did what we had to do to keep you safe, alive." Snow told her. "The part of you that will always be angry at us is the same part of me that will forever be angry with Regina for making me have to do it." Snow told her. "Believe me, since we got back from Camelot the temptation to kill her in revenge has been even stronger. I guess I understand why now. But even still, I haven't. Killing her won't change the past. Being angry at your father and I won't change a thing either. I can't make you stop being angry. Only you can control that. The only way that's ever going to happen is if you stop running from all your problems." Snow told her. Emma shot her mom a look.

"Maybe I would never have had to run if there had actually been someone there for me when I needed them most. When I was vulnerable and scared. But what would you know about that? For twenty eight years you had the luxury of forgetting about the baby you abandoned. Some of us didn't have that cosy little option." Emma hissed before storming up the stairs. She was grateful to find that at least her bedroom door had remained unlocked. She went inside, slamming the door behind her. Snow didn't follow after her. No, she knew that Emma needed some space. She was glad Emma had gotten some of this anger out, finally. It was about time.
