Author's Note:Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter out later, I was hoping to pump this out sooner, but it took longer than expected. Chapter 10
~Inuyasha~
"I'm just gonna go straight to the point," Inuyasha explained, he was frustrated with the first two girls, and their shitty answers. He was ready to get to the bottom of this, no more bullshit. "Did you set Kagome up with a guy?"
Yuka gave a devilish smile and flicked her short hair back. She was loving the attention. "I did mention to her there is a guy who wanted to meet her."
Inuyasha waited for her to continue but she reached for the pitcher of water on the table, slowly pouring it into the glass before her, and taking the slowest sip ever. He let out a long sigh, he wanted to grab the front of her shirt and shake some sense into her but that would definitely get him fired.
"And? Who IS this guy?" He asked, irritation slipping into his voice. The mother hadn't said a single word, and appeared to be nervous when she first entered the room. But as soon as Inuyasha showed some irritation. Mama bear mode was activated and she gave him a stern glare in warning.
"This guy at a local convenience store. He was interested in Kagome when he first saw her." Yuka cooly replied and took another sip of water. Inuyasha balled his hands into fists, shaking in frustration.
"Are you able to give us more details? Did you get his name? Do you know if he met up with Kagome?" Miroku jumped in and asked once he saw his partners anger flaring.
"I think his name was Nariaki? No, that doesn't sound right...Naoki? Naraku? I think it's Naraku." She tapped her finger against her lips, as she 'tried' to remember the name.
"You think or you know?" Inuyasha growled out through clenched teeth.
"I can't remember," she venomously spat, holding her head high.
"Yuka, how did you meet this man? Was it at school or did you run into him at a mall?" Miroku asked.
"We ran into him at a convenience store, he works as a clerk there." Yuka explained.
Miroku pulled out his cellphone and brought up the maps. He dropped a pin for Higurashi shrine and looked at the convenience stores close by. Holding the phone out to Yuka, he asked, "Is this the one?".
She looked at the phone and nodded, "Yeah, that's the one."
Miroku put his phone away and wrote down the name of the convenience store.
"When Kagome went into the store, did they talk a lot? Did she say anything about this guy?" Miroku asked when he was done writing.
"No, not really. Kagome said the guy gave her the creeps. I don't know why though, the guy is HOT." Yuka laughed and fanned herself with her hand.
"YUKA! Please! The police are questioning you." Her mother snapped, Yuka stopped fanning herself and rolled her eyes.
"It's quite alright ma'am." Miroku reassured as he gave the mother a soft smile. "Has he ever visited Kagome at the shrine?"
Yuka thought for a moment and shrugged her shoulders. "I know I gave him the address, I don't know if he actually visited her."
"Why did you give him the address? Did Kagome tell you to do so?" Inuyasha ranted, he was at his boiling point with this selfish girl.
"Look, I forgot an item at the counter and the guy is really interested in Kagome. I didn't see any harm in giving him her address. I mean, she lives at a shrine! If people want to visit they can. It's not like its private property."
"You most likely lead the assailant to Kagome, making her his victim! DON"T YOU FEEL ANY SHAME IN THAT?" Inuyasha roared, he stood up and slammed his hand on the table. Yuka and her mother jumped, caught off guard by the gesture. Her mother grabbed Yukas arm, forcing Yuka to stand up with her.
"I never expected the police to behave this way. We are LEAVING, if you want anything else, CONTACT OUR LAWYERS!" Her mother yelled, as she led her daughter out of the interrogation room.
An awkward silence fell over the room, Inuyasha slumped into the chair, letting his arms hang by his sides he stared at the wall before him. He forgot Miroku was beside him until he felt him patting his arm in reassurance.
"Well, Yuka gave us some information, it's a start." Miroku sighed as he closed the notebook. "Let's go home for now, get some rest. We have to wait for the phone records and at least go to this convenience store at a decent time to talk to the owner."
Inuyasha nodded in agreement, the two of them stood up and walked out of the interrogation room. They walked down the hallway back into the office area, Inuyasha waited for Miroku as he dropped off his stationary. They headed towards the exit when a man called out to them, both turned around to see the same man from earlier running after them with a manila envelope stuffed full.
"This is the phone record you asked for." The man huffed, trying to catch his breath handing the envelope to Miroku .
"You didn't have to run after us, we could have waited for you." Miroku laughed as he pulled the records out. He quickly looked through them and saw multiple pages highlighted, he stopped and gave the man a stern look.
"Did you already go through the record?"
The man gave a big smile. "Yeah, I thought I would help you out by going through them. And when I saw Detective Inuyasha messaging the victim, I reported it to the commissioner right away. Now you can get some rest for the evening."
Miroku shot Inuyasha a worried look and Inuyasha shook with rage.
"You did what?" He growled through clenched teeth, people really just wanted to test him today. The man's face paled realizing his honest work to help was not appreciated at the moment and gave Miroku a worried look.
"I was only trying to help, I'm so-"
"Just fucking GO! YOU ALREADY DID ENOUGH!" Inuyasha snapped at the man, flinching, he gave a solemn nod and walked away quietly. The office went quiet and Inuyasha looked around the room, suddenly realizing the scene he caused. "Fuck." He mumbled and left Miroku behind as he stormed out of the building.
He hoped to Kami he had a shovel somewhere, he was 100% sure death was in the forecast.
