~Kagome~

She couldn't remember where she heard this, but Kagome remembered hearing when you have been kidnapped, you always take any food or drink they offer you. Starving yourself is useless, you will need the energy to help you escape, or in case you need to protect yourself against the kidnapper. The older woman, Kagura, rarely showed herself, it was always the younger girl, Kanna, coming in to bring food and drink to Kagome.

The girl is timid, she never spoke when Kagome would press her for questions or help, she didn't even react when Kagome kicked over the bowl of water when Kanna tried to help her tend to her wounded face. She also noticed Kanna isn't as cautious as her sister, being new to this, Kagome had been asking her to undo the handcuffs around her wrists. Kanna would obediently do so, allowing Kagome the freedom to stretch her wrists and to eat the food provided.

Sitting in the dark Kagome came up with a rough plan, she would only have one shot to make this work. Kagome laid in the dark room, she couldn't tell how long it was but she knew deep down that it's been a few hours since the last time they checked on her. As if on cue, she heard the keys jingling outside the door, light shone through the opened door illuminating the room. Kagome pushed herself up with her handcuffed hand, she slowly inhaled, mentally preparing herself for what was about to come.

Kanna entered the room, lantern in one hand and in her other hand she carried a bucket with a bottle of water tucked closed to her chest. Silently, Kanna walked across the room to where Kagome is chained up. Kanna sat the bucket down and put the bottle of water close to Kagome. Kagome opened the bottle and took a big swig of it, eyeing the bucket closely. Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, she nodded at the bucket and asked, "What's the bucket for?".

Kagome had a sneaking suspicion what the bucket is supposed to be used for, but she needed the confirmation to make the plan work. Kanna stared at Kagome, her eyes staring down Kagome as to answer the question. Kagome nodded in response, understanding the purpose of the bucket. She stuck her hands out and Kanna brought out the ring of keys from her pocket. She gently unlocked the handcuffs and sat them down on the cement floor. Kanna tucked the keys back into her jeans pocket when she cocked her head gently and looked to see Kagome grabbing her sweatshirt.

"Can you undo the ones on my feet too? I want to move the bucket to the far corner of the room, I can't pee in front of you." Kagome stated, she put on the biggest puppy eyes she could muster. Kanna yet again didn't say anything. She brought the keys out yet again, unlocking the cuffs around Kagome's feet. Kagome rubbed her ankles quickly, stood up grabbing the bucket and lantern with her. She walked over to the corner of the room, gently swinging the lantern in her one hand. It weighed quite a bit, Kagome studied it as she realized it was one of the gas burner lanterns with a metal base.

She sat the bucket down, looking over her shoulder she could see Kanna's back to her. The young girl was fixing the futon Kagome laid on, tightening the grip around the lantern, Kagome sharply inhaled as she charged across the room. Bringing her right arm back, she swung the lantern as hard as she could, the metal base of the lantern connecting to the back of Kanna's head. A sickening crack echoed in the room as the young girl silently fell face first into the futon. Harsh breathing was the only sound Kagome could hear in the room, she fell onto her knees and raised the lantern up. Red liquid stained the once white futon, Kagomes hands trembled as she reached over into Kanna's jeans pockets, snatching the key ring.

Kagome stood up, her trembling hands jingling the keys scared she was going to alert her kidnappers, she tried to steady her hands by placing them close to her chest. She looked at Kanna one last time before running up the stairs, at the top of the stairs is another door. Carefully, Kagome tried the door handle slowly turning it to see if it was unlocked. She exhaled a breath of relief when it turned willingly. Kagome slowly opened the door, just enough for her to see out of but her eye stun with the bright light of the sun. Kagome had to blink a few times before her eye somewhat adjusted to the light. Looking around, she noticed the door from the basement led into the living room.

Holding her breath, she listened as hard as she can, trying to hear if Naraku or Kagura were around. Kagome didn't hear anything which surprised her, but she opened the door slowly. The door began to creak, panicked, Kagome scrambled out of the opening she made and quickly turning around to close the door. She didn't hear anything, and looked around the room.

The living room had a TV sitting on a cardboard box, a couch with a few tears on the cushions and major stains on it. There was one large window that had grey curtains pulled across, covering most of the window, except where someone left a gap to allow some sunlight in. The walls were bare and white which ran past Kagome on her right flowing into the kitchen. Carefully taking a step she peered and looked into the kitchen. There was no one in there, looking back over to her left in the living room she saw what she was looking for. The front door.

Kagome ran over to the door, turning the handle to open it. She tried to open the door but the handle wouldn't budge. Her eyes ran up the doorframe and she let out a gasp when she saw what was keeping the door closed. A hinge over the door attached to the door frame had a padlock over it, locking her in. She brought up her trembling hands as she fumbled with the keys, she put one key in and tried to open the lock. She then tried the next one, she was fumbling with the third key when a voice called out, "Kanna?"

"Shit," Kagome hissed as she dropped the keys, her eyes scanning the room, they stopped on a closet by the kitchen she hadn't noticed earlier. Kagome scrambled and picked up the keys ran across the living room to the closet. She opened the door as the voice called out again, her heart pounding in her chest, she pushed the broom and mop over making space for her to stand in the tiny closet. Kagome closed the closet door as quickly and as quietly as she could. Her hands shook with terror as she heard footsteps coming down the top floor. Kagome still had the keys in her hand, the keys jingled loudly as it moved with her shaking hand. Tucking her hand under her pajama sweatshirt and folding the sweatshirt over them to muffle the sound of the keys.

"Kanna?"

Kagome recognized the voice as Kaguras. Kagura took a couple steps and Kagome could hear her pulling on the padlock on the front door. Kagura's footsteps walked closer to where Kagome was hiding. Her breathing sped up, as terror rose in her, with her other hand she clamped it over her mouth, muffling the loud breathing.

A door creaked open, as Kagura called out, "Kanna?"

Silence was the only reply Kagura received. "Kanna, are you down there? Answer me!"

Kagura steps could be heard going down the stairs into the basement, Kagome carefully opened the closet door, looking into the kitchen Kagome could see a glass sliding door, which opened to the outside. She ran over to the door, pulling it open. The door wouldn't budge. Fumbling with the keys yet again she tried to use them to open the door. Kagura's high pitched scream cut through the silence of the house. She found Kanna.

"FUCK," Kagome hysterically sobbed as the keys wouldn't open the door. Loud footsteps came running up behind her as she looked over her shoulder, Naraku's hand clamped over her mouth, Kagome screamed into the cloth he pressed onto her mouth and nose. Kagome struggled against his ironclad grip, using her weight in an attempt to throw him off balance.

"Just stay still bitch!" Naraku growled out as his grip around her torso became tighter. Kagome could feel the adrenaline coursing through her, moving her head forward she swung it back as hard as she could slamming her head against Naraku's nose. He shrieked as he dropped her, his hands at his nose trying to catch the blood spurting from it. Kagome pushed herself up off the floor, running back into the living room, she tried to run up the stairs going to the top floor when she slid across the hardwood floor slamming into the front door.

Kagome tried to push herself off the floor but her arms grew weak and slid it from under her. Landing roughly onto the floor, she could feel her eyes starting to close as drowsiness called to her. Naraku stood before her, he looked down at her as his nose still bled, running down his face and into the crooked smile he wore.

"Night night bitch," Naraku chuckled as her eyes closed and sleep overcame her body.
