Chapter 5 Dinner between two old friends.
Right now, Dylan is lying in his bed struggling to fall into a slumber. This has been new occurrence to him right now. One that has been bugging him from the start. He has no idea. What is causing all of this, he assumes this is the whole memory problem keeping him awake. But that can't be all. There was something here in town, something he hasn't sensed before now. Or maybe he was just imaging things. He should be happy his aunt Snow and Emma have returned safely. Every part of him, is aching and all he can do is pray that it would stop.
Meanwhile, Monroe and the powerful witch Cora are now dining at a small local restaurant. Cora decided to take a different form one to keep her true identity hidden until the time was right. The two are sat at a small table close to a window. In truth Cora wasn't fond of her current surroundings. It was filled with commoners. She wasn't oblivious to her past as a miller's daughters. But still in her eyes, she has rose a lot higher since then.
"You haven't aged a day since our last meeting, sweetheart," Monroe said.
"And you haven't lost your roughness," Cora replied.
"Perhaps, but you've always appreciated my personality to that of previous men in your life. What were their names again, Lewis, Lenard, Harry, Harold?" Monroe said. Cora rolled her eyes before taking a sip of red wine from her glass.
"You have your moments, but you could never fully provide me with what I wanted," Cora replied.
"I provided for you many times across the years, you just never wanted to commit to me, at least not by marriage," Monroe pointed out.
"Our marriage couldn't help me climb the social ladder," Cora reminded Monroe.
"And what did you get out of your marriage to Henry, a loveless marriage. A man with no spine and let's not forget your beautiful but traitorous daughter. Who only had ambition when she found out a ten-year-old couldn't keep a secret," Monroe said.
"All true, but a lot has changed for Regina this time. She's put herself into a dangerous and vulnerable position now. With the curse broken what power she had over the people in this town is lone gone. The only one in town that could possibly love her is Henry. Who may not love her just as much as she loves him," Cora pointed out.
"So, you plan on playing on her insecurities how wonderfully unoriginal. But I suppose if it works why not use it," Monroe replied.
"Now, old wolf what are your plans?" Cora asked actually interested.
"Just three little things spend time with an old flame. Find a little magical cloak and meet some distant relatives," Monroe answered.
"What cloak? Red Riding Hood's cloak can't be of any use to you, it can only suppress one's transformation into a wolf. Something, I know wouldn't be in your interests," Cora questioned further.
"True, but the cloak, I'm searching for is much more important it is rumoured to hold incredible magic," Monroe replied.
"Perhaps, I've heard of it," Cora said.
"A Oracle called it, the Crescent Cloak, a terrible name I admit, the oracle told me, it would eventually find its way to a land without magic if it's anywhere it's in this town," Monroe explained.
"I've never heard of such a cloak, I'm afraid the oracle has been feeding you false truths," Cora said.
"Perhaps, but if it does exist, I plan on acquiring it," Monroe replied.
