Die Mortal asked for a oneshot of Snow being overprotective of Emma (before Neal was born). Emma gets sick of it and complains to her dad, but he takes Snow's side. This makes Emma even more annoyed.
"Yes, I'm still at the station." Emma sighed as she answered her phone. She didn't even have to check the caller ID to see who it was. She knew it was her mom. She had called three times today already. Ignoring her did no good, she just called her dad since he was at the station too. She was scared that Regina was going to come after her. Emma didn't even pay attention as her mom rambled once again about keeping an eye out for danger. "Right. Got it. Don't go running up to Regina and alerting her to my presence. See you once our shift's over. Assuming Regina doesn't get me first…yes, I'm just kidding. I'll be careful." Emma sighed. Whatever got her mom off her case. Emma ended the call and placed her phone back on her desk.
"You don't need to be so rude to her, you know." Charming said quietly from his desk. "She's just looking out for you."
"She's calling me almost hourly now." Emma pointed out. "It's ridiculous! Surely you can see that?" Emma pleaded to his good sense. Charming sighed. This wasn't going to be easy.
"Like I said, your mother is just looking out for you. We have a terrible trait running through this family where we go running towards the danger. She just wants to make sure you avoid doing that for the time being."
"Sure, take her side." Emma grumbled. "Of course you would."
"Emma." Charming sighed. "Don't be like that. You can't blame your mom for being in the right this time. You'd do the same thing for Henry."
"Henry's a kid." Emma grumbled. "I'm twenty eight." Charming smirked. He avoided pointing out that Emma was still their kid, despite the weird circumstances. He think if he had, Emma would have flung something at him. He would take the soft approach with this one. That way he might be able to avoid both him and Snow losing their heads.
