Getting serious

Grace asked for a oneshot of something for Emma, Charming and Killian based on the song "Farmer's daughter" by Rodney Atikins.

Just when I thought it couldn't get no hotter
I fell in love with the farmer's daughter.

Charming hadn't been sure when Emma and the pirate had started dating. If he was honest, he still wasn't sure now. All he could say for sure, is that it wasn't some fling that was going to fizzle out. No, he could see it in both their eyes. This was love. He wasn't sure how he felt about that. It really wouldn't have mattered who it was at all, Charming would have felt as apprehensive. It just didn't help that it was the pirate. He knew he had to talk it all through with Emma. Make sure she was happy. He waited until there was a lull in work at the station before he broached the subject.

"So…you and Hook, huh? Things seem to be getting pretty serious." He commented. Emma slowly put down the coffee she was about to have a sip of. She had a feeling this was coming.

"Uh, yeah, I guess it is." She responded. Not sure what else to say. Charming nodded. This wasn't exactly his territory either.

"Are you happy?" He asked her. "I don't need to know any details. All I need to be sure of is that you're happy." Emma smirked at his fear of her going into any details. That was really the last thing she wanted too, with both her parents.

"Very." She promised him. "I'm happy, he's happy, Henry's happy. Can I say the same for you and mom?" Emma asked him. Charming sat back on his chair, thinking for a moment.

"As long as you and Henry continue to remain happy, then yes. If that ever changes, then no." He told her. "All I ever wanted was for you to find someone who makes you feel happy and secure. I'm truly glad you've found him." Charming told her. Emma blushed, still not fully comfortable with emotionally honest conversations. "Doesn't mean I won't kill him if he hurts you though." He added. Emma grimaced. She didn't doubt that he would.
