New hobbies

JRocks asked for a oneshot of Emma having a midlife crisis and doing crazy things. The boys all try to make her stop, Snow just finds it funny.

"Extreme skiing?" Charming said, just about choking on his drink at the mention of Emma's latest adventure. "Have you even done regular skiing?"

"No, but I don't do things by halves." Emma responded with a shrug. Things had been so quiet in Storybrooke for years. If she was honest, she missed the adventure. She missed the rush.

"Why don't we think back to bungee jumping?" Charming suggested. "Or a tandem skydive?" At least with that one she had an instructor with her at all times.

"Or none?!" Henry suggested. "Mom, this is ridiculous, your forty three!" He reminded her. "Aren't you a little old to be taking up extreme sports?" He asked. Emma shot him a dangerous look.

"Aren't you a little young to be calling your mother old?" He warned her. Henry gulped. He might be an adult, but that look still scared him.

"Well I won't have a mother for much longer if you keep this up." He mumbled. Emma just rolled her eyes. They were all overreacting.

"Well, on the plus side, it's a great way to deal with the hot flushes." Snow snorted. Emma went pink.

"I am not going through the menopause!" She snapped. Snow just raised an eyebrow. She wasn't so sure.

"Just a midlife crisis." Henry mumbled under his breath, but Emma still heard him.

"Fine, mock my attempts to find a new hobby!" She snapped, grabbing her jacket and preparing to head outside and storm off. "Just because you're all boring!" She finished as she slammed the front door.

"Definitely the menopause." Was Snow's only comment. She would recognise those mood swings anywhere. It wasn't many mothers and daughters that went through it together, much to poor Charming and Henry's dismay.
