Early morning at the graveyard.
Dean and Sam pat down the dirt over the grave.
"Rest in peace." Sam said, holding the shovel.
"Yeah. For good this time, okay?" Dean says to Sam and I chuckled quietly at his response. I groaned and rolled my neck around. It's been a long and crazy night.
We turn away, heading for the car. Sam grunts as he lifts the shovel over one shoulder.
"You know, that whole fake ritual thing, luring Angela into the cemetery? Pretty sharp."
"Thanks." Dean says as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"But did we have to use me as bait?" Sam said, frowning at Dean.
"I figured you were more her type. You know, she had pretty crappy taste in guys." Dean responded and I slapped his head.
"Ow!"
"Be nice." I said, looking at Dean.
He smirked and looked away from me.
"I think she broke my hand." Sam groaned, looking his hand.
Dean laughed. "You're just too fragile. We'll get it looked at later." He turns back to Mary's grave, pausing.
"You want to stay for a while?" Sam asked, glancing at Dean.
"No."
I moved away from Dean and got into the backseat.
They drop their things in the trunk of the car and get in, Dean in the driver's side. They pull out.
On the highway
I watched the trees pass us by as Dean drove along. I looked back and see Dean's scowling face in the view mirror. He's been like that ever since we left.
Sam looks at him, concerned. Dean pulls the car across the road to stop on the opposite shoulder. He gets out and sits on the hood. Sam and I looked at each other and I nod to him.
Sam follows. I got out of the car to get some fresh air and stretch my body out.
I stood by Sam's side and listened to them.
"Dean, what is it?"
"I'm sorry."
"You-for what?"
"The way I've been acting." Sam crosses to sit on the hood, close but not touching. "And for Dad. He was your dad too. And it's my fault he's gone."
My heart broke for him right there.
Sam was confused. "What are you talking about?"
"I know you've been thinking it –so have I. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Back at the hospital, I made a full recovery. It was a miracle. And five minutes later Dad's dead and the Colt's gone."
"Dean."
"You can't tell me there's not a connection there. I don't know how the demon was involved; I don't know how the whole thing went down exactly. But Dad's dead because of me. And that much I do know."
I tensed up because he was right. That is exactly what happened to John but I didn't say a word. I just stood there quietly.
"We don't know that. Not for sure."
"Sam." Dean starts crying. "You and Dad… you're the most important people in my life. And now… I never should have come back, Sam. It wasn't natural. And now look what's come of it. I was dead. And I should have stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling. Well's that's it."
Sam nods. "So tell me. What could you say to make that all right?"
They stayed quiet, leaning against the hood of the car on the side of a mountain road. I climbed up on the hood between them.
I took Dean's hand and kissed it. "Dean… please don't blame yourself." I said quietly and tears came to my eyes. I exhaled sharply. "Maybe you should have stayed dead but you were meant to come back. Maybe John traded his life for you but we don't know that for sure and I don't want you to think like that anymore. What happened to John happened and there is nothing that we can do. Maybe it doesn't make you feel better but know that we are here for you. We love you so much."
I glanced back at Sam and he had tears in his eyes. I chuckled softly and looked back at Dean. I wiped his tears away and kissed him softly.
"I love you, remember that."
Dean nodded and caresses my cheek. I smiled gently and scoot off the hood. I went back inside the car and let the boys being alone for a while.
I felt guilty immediately because I know that Dean was right about his father but I couldn't tell him. It would kill him inside. I need to protect him. I have to.
Back at the hotel room.
I was taking a shower when I heard the curtain move and I turned. Dean stood there and smiled at me.
"Dean…" I said, giggling as he grabbed me against his chest.
"Remember the promise?" Dean said suggestively.
"Well… I said that only if you were a good boy."
"I have been a good boy!" Dean says, pouting at me.
I giggled at his face. "Well… you were kinda a good boy… sort of, so I don't know."
Dean frowned then started to tickle me.
"Dean! NO!" I screamed in delight as I tried to push his hands away from my ticklish area.
"I'll keep going until you said so!" Dean continued to tickle me.
"Fine! I give up… yes." I said, kissing him.
Dean smiled back and kissed me back. "I love you, Dean." I whispered.
"I love you too, Emma." He kisses me passionately.
Dean held Emma in his arms as he slept. He woke up and stared at Emma as she slept. He loves her so much that he was actually considering proposing to her sometime in the future. Yes, she drove him nuts sometimes but he drove her nuts too. All that didn't matter because they were both crazy about each other.
Dean frowned as he heard Emma's phone ringing in her bag. Dean got up slowly not to disturb Emma and puts his jeans on as he grabbed her ringing phone and notices something white in her bag.
He pushes the end button her phone to stop the ringing and glanced back at Emma. She was still asleep.
He puts the phone down and slowly pulls the paper out of her bag. It was a white envelope with her name on it. He recognized the handwriting. It was his father. He frowned in confusion. Why would John write a letter to Emma?
He slowly opens the letter and reads it slowly. His heart dropped as he read his father's confession about what he had done to bring Dean back.
I woke up and glanced over to Dean's back. He was reading something and I noticed my bag. Panic went through my mind and I sat up slowly.
"Dean?" I whispered and Dean turn around, anger written all over his face.
Dean brings up the letter to show me. "You knew… and you didn't tell me."
I stammered. "Dean… I… I… I couldn't tell you. It would kill you. It would hurt you… it would make you angry."
"Damn it!" Dean shouted, throwing the letter away and strides over to me, which I moved back against the headboard in fear.
"You lied to me! You didn't tell us yesterday when I was confessing to Sam. I was right but you couldn't tell us! Damn it, Emma!"
I started to cry. "Dean, please don't! Please... I'm sorry! I was just following John's order. Please don't tell Sam! He doesn't need to know!" I begged as Dean throws his shirt on and grabs his jacket.
"Who else knows about this?!" Dean snapped back, staring at me with his cold eyes.
I whimpered. "Just me. Nobody." I whispered, choosing to leave Bobby out.
"I see. I feel betrayed by you… I don't trust you anymore. This relationship is over. It's over. Good bye, Emma."
I gasped softly as Dean slammed the door behind him. I started to sob and fell against my pillow, screaming against it. "I'm sorry!" I screamed out loud to nobody.
I thought I was doing the right thing by keeping it from the boys but I was wrong. I betrayed Dean which is the last thing I wanted to do and our relationship is over. It's over and I am heartbroken. What am I going to do now?
I cried softly into the pillow and fell asleep soon.
Well shit... The secret is out now and Dean dumped her. :( I am so heartbroken for Emma... Please leave a review... It makes me happy to hear from you guys. :)
