The song that never ends

FanOfMostasked for a oneshot of Neal learning "the song that never ends".

"This is the song that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friend
Some people started singing it
Not knowing what it was
But people kept singing it just because…"
Emma groaned.

"He's been singing that for hours." She complained. "When will it end?!"

"That's kind of the point, unfortunately. It doesn't." Charming grumbled. Emma had only had the song since lunchtime. One of Neal's friends had shown him a video of the song two whole days ago. Two whole days of the seven year old singing the song on loop. He was like a broken record. Snow and Charming had both seriously considered investing in earplugs, and hoped for sudden deafness. Or at least for it to go on long enough that it stopped being annoying. Apparently, that just never happened.

"This is as bad as when Henry found the stupid cat video when he flies through space wearing a poptart or something." Emma grumbled, placing her hands over her ears. The lyrics to the ear-piercing tune still seeped through her hands and were beginning to imprint themselves on her brain. She just needed a break. She figured her parents did too. She poured a glass of water quickly.

"Hey Neal." She said, approaching her little brother. "I bet you can't drink this water continuously for five minutes." She challenged him. Neal picked up the glass and began to slowly sip at it. Charming grinned over at his daughter. Sweet, sweet silence.
