Hi guys, I'm back! I'm sorry for not posting for so long. I was busy during the holidays. I hope you guys had a great Christmas and a new year! I was going to post this chapter on Christmas Day but the internet went down so I didn't get the chance to post this up until tonight after a couple of days with crappy internet but it's fixed now! :) So this chapter takes place about two months after Emma and Dean got together. Their relationship was still new. I hope you guys will enjoy this chapter. I am thinking about posting another chapter up after this one but I gotta proofread for my other chapter so we'll see.
December 25, 2006
As they arrived to their hotel for a case that they have been working on for about a couple of days now. It's Christmas and Emma felt lonely for the first time in her life. It was her first Christmas without her parents and she was sad inside.
Emma's POV
I sigh heavily as we walked into our hotel room. The hotel didn't have an extra room for me so I was forced to share a room with them again. I didn't mind sharing a bed with Dean though. I smiled softly as I thought about Dean.
I threw my bag against the bed then jumped backward on the bed, resting on my back finally.
"Thank god. I need to sleep." I mumbled against the pillow as I wrapped my arms around it.
Dean looks around. "Well, why don't we celebrate Christmas now? I'll go get some beers and some food."
I sat up, my elbows holding me up. "Okay. You go out and Sam and I can relax after all."
Sam smiles at me, agreeing with me.
"Okay."
Dean grabs his jacket and left us alone. As he left, we jumped off our beds and scrambled to our bags.
I had a perfect gift for Dean and Sam must have got something for him because he was digging around in his bag.
"I'm going to the bathroom." I said, clutching his gift and Sam's gift to my chest.
Sam nodded, focusing on his bag.
I closed the door behind me and quickly walk to the sink. I lay their gifts down then took the leather bag and some newspapers out of my jacket pocket.
I took out the knife and put it inside the small leather bag. Then I took some organic snacks and put it in a plastic bag before wrapping it around with newspaper.
While I was wrapping the gifts, I heard the door opening in the background then Dean's voice.
"Hey, I got pizza!" Dean announces out loud, causing me to smile. I couldn't wait to give my special Christmas gift to him.
I came out of the bathroom, putting the gifts down on my bed and we all gather around at a small table, eating our dinner.
After we ate our pizza, we took our gifts and put it on the table.
"Well, who's next?" I asked, looking at the boys. They glanced at each other then smile at each other.
"Sam's turn." Dean says, glancing back at me. Sam smiles, passing his gift to me.
"Merry Christmas, Emma." Sam replies, watching me as I started to unwrap his gift.
It was a black notebook. "This is for you so you can write down your thoughts on it." Sam explained and I nodded, smiling.
"Thank you, Sam. I appreciate it." I said, giving him a quick hug.
I put my new notebook down on the table then grabbed Sam's gift. "Merry Christmas, Sam. I think you will like it."
Sam chuckles, unwrapping my gift. He laughed when he saw that I got him a bunch of organic snacks.
"Thanks, Emma. I like them. I can't wait to try them." Sam says, putting his snacks away.
Sam passes his gift for Dean to him and Dean opens it, revealing a gift card.
"That's awesome, man. Thanks!" Dean says, looking at his gift card. It was for his car so he can clean it up and give his car a shine anytime he wants to.
"No problem, Dean." Sam says, chuckling at his brother's excitation.
Dean puts down his gift card and passes his gift to Sam.
"I hope you'll like it." Dean says, chuckling. I lift my eyebrow at Dean.
Sam looks at him suspiciously then opens his gift. He started to laugh when he realizes that Dean had given him some porn magazines.
I giggled, covering my eyes. "Yeah…. Thanks Dean." Sam replies, putting the porn magazine away. Dean slaps Sam's shoulder lovingly. "Merry Christmas, Sam. Now, Emma. Here you go."
Dean hands me a small box. It was wrapped in a brown paper.
I unwrap it carefully, and then opened the box. I gasped softly as I took out the bracelet. It had a jade stone on a green woven bracelet.
"I happened to see this and thought of you. The Japanese lady told me that the stone of jade means "the stone of heaven." She also told me that if you wear it on your left wrist, it's closer to your heart and it's given for protection and good health. The woven bracelet signifies "endless knot"—long life without many setbacks." Dean explains then smiled at me as I glanced back at Dean.
I put the bracelet on my left wrist then I traced over the bracelet with my finger. "Thank you, Dean. It's so beautiful. I'll never take it off." I replied, smiling at him.
I then took Dean's gift and gave it to him. "This is very special to me. Merry Christmas, Dean."
Dean nodded then opens the leather bag, revealing the knife.
"Whoa…" Dean says, examining the knife. He sees the initials on the knife handle. "What's M.H.C stands for?"
I smiled gently then replied, "My adopted father. Matthew Hunter Castle. It belonged to him and when he died, it was passed down to me. I didn't know what to do with it so I carried it around for a couple of months until I decided that my dad would be honored if I give it to the man who has saved my life."
"Emma… I'm honored but this is your dad's. I… I can't take it." Dean tries to give the knife back to me but I held my hands up.
"No, Dean. Keep it. Please. Matthew would be happy if you keep it. After all, you saved his daughter's life."
Dean nods then stood up and gave me a hug. "Thank you, Emma. I'm honored. I'll always carry this with me."
I smiled as he stepped back. "No problem. Well… that was a good Christmas after all. Merry Christmas."
They smiled at me.
After we all went to bed. Sam took the couch so I could have my own bed and Dean slept in his bed. I couldn't sleep so I tossed and turned until I had enough.
So I stood up quietly, putting my socks on and boots on. I throw on a jacket over my pajamas and walks quietly to the door. Sam was sleeping soundly and so was Dean.
I opened the door slowly and quietly as best as I could then close it softly behind me. I walked outside in the freezing cold air and sat down on a bench near the hotel. I sighed heavily as I thought back about my Christmases with my parents. I miss them so much that my heart is breaking.
I pull my legs up, wrapping my arms around my knees and lay my head down on my arms.
It was a few minutes later when I heard soft footsteps in front of me and it stopped. I felt the bench creak as someone sat down next to me.
I look up and it was Dean, half- asleep.
I lay my cheek against my arms, smiling at his sleepy face.
"Emma, it's three in the morning and why are you outside in this cold weather?" Dean asks, wrapping his arm around my back.
"I couldn't sleep." I say, playing with my jade bracelet. "I keep thinking about my parents. It's my first Christmas without them."
Dean nodded. "I know. It gets harder every year without your parents. Even when Dad was alive, he didn't really spend Christmas with us so I was the one who had to do the Christmas tradition for Sam so he could continue being a kid. I had to grow up so fast…. I couldn't let Sam do the same thing. I wanted him to stay as a kid and have a childhood. I didn't have a normal childhood like every kid did."
I caress his cheek. "That's why I love you. You care so much about your brother and you're a wonderful brother. He's lucky to have you." I whisper, still caressing his cheek.
Dean smiles gently and gives me a soft kiss on my lips. "Here's another thing that I didn't tell you about your bracelet."
"What?" I whispered, smiling.
"The stone of Jade symbolizes love and virtue." Dean says, caressing my bracelet.
My smile widens at his answer and I gave him a long kiss on his lips, which Dean wraps his arms around me, continuing our kiss.
I felt something wet caressing my cheek and we stopped kissing, looking up at the sky. It was snowing.
"Oh my god… it's snowing." I gasped, looking at Dean. Dean started to chuckle at my excited expression.
"Hey… at least it's finally snowing." Dean says, caressing my back.
I giggle, kissing him back.
I enjoyed writing my Christmas chapter. Now we have to go back to sad day... Sam's death in the next chapter. I would like to express my thanks to the new followers:
