Not another child- part 2

snoopykid asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2763 "Not another child" where Snow couldn't stop thinking about Emma's story and tells Charming. Henry overhears. He goes to Emma, begging her to tell him that it wasn't true.

Henry couldn't believe everything he'd just heard. Sure, he knew his mom had never had it easy, but he never knew she'd been in danger so many times. She'd had foster parents who hit her? His mom had always been very vivid when talking about anything from her childhood, now he understood why. But this was just too much.

Henry wasn't meant to overhear the conversation, he knew that. He knew that eavesdropping was rude, but it was his mom they were talking about. Sure, Emma was their daughter as well as his mother, but Henry still felt he had a right to know. Now that he had overheard his grandmother telling his grandfather the horrible story, he wasn't so sure he wanted to know at all. He couldn't stop thinking about it. Henry then fled his grandparents' home and went all the way to the station by himself. He had to talk to her.

Emma was surprised when she looked up to find Henry standing in front of her.

"What are you doing here, kid?" She asked him. "Your grandparents are supposed to be watching you while I finished up here." Emma asked. She saw the troubled look on Henry's face. "Kid, what's wrong?" She asked.

"Tell me it's not true." Henry said seriously. Emma was confused. "Grandma, she was telling grandpa a story from your childhood you told her yesterday. Tell me it's not true." Emma's face set. She didn't want Henry to hear about any of that. She didn't blame her mother. She wasn't to know Henry was listening in. Emma sighed, leaning against her desk.

"I can't do that kid." She said quietly. "It is true." Henry felt his hands balling into fists. He wanted to find her and he wanted to hurt her. She had hurt his mom when she was just a little girl. Emma quickly came over, placing a calming hand on Henry's shoulder.

"Henry." She said quietly. "It was a long time ago…"

"It doesn't matter!" Henry shouted. "It should never have happened!"

"I know." Emma said, pulling Henry into a hug. "I know." Henry allowed himself to cry into Emma's shoulder at the injustice of it all. Emma just held her son, allowing him to cry. Emma wished she could protect Henry from her past, but just like nobody could protect her, the truth was able to find its way to her son.
