This is the second part to Ready or Not.
You don't need to read this, only if you want a "happily ever after" ending.
The months following Leah's initiation to the pack are a blur. She never expected to join a pack of werewolves, let alone find her mate. That night with Jared in the woods changed her, she's different now; happy. When Sam left her she lost her way and became aggressive towards anyone and everyone.
A knock on the door brings Leah out of her thoughts. "Leah, did you fall in?" She chuckles at her mother's voice.
"Don't worry, mom, I'm okay. Just finishing up." Leah washes her hands and dries them, wary of her outfit. Stepping out of the restroom, Leah's closest friends and her mom stand beaming at her.
"Oh, honey, I can't help it. I'm just so excited." Sue exclaims while Leah simply chuckles.
Sue never expected her to get married, certainly not so soon after meeting the guy. Her mom knew about the pack, of course, so the real surprise is that she and Jared waited this long to tie the knot.
Emily, Sam's mate, hurries Leah to a chair facing the vanity and sits her down. Leah looks in the mirror and can hardly recognize herself; her normally bare face was now covered with a thin layer of foundation and natural eye shadow, along with a small coating of lipstick. Emily fussed with Leah's hair for a few minutes before declaring it complete. Leah's shoulder length hair was pulled into a loose, flowing braid. Smiling at her friend in the mirror, Leah stood up and spun, letting the dress spread around her.
Tears begin to pool in Leah's eyes when she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Emily notices and states that she has to stop crying or else she'd ruin her makeup. The other girls laugh in response
A few minutes later, there's a knock at the door and Harry pops his head in, eyes closed. "Everyone decent?" He asks with a smile, to which Sue declares the girls decent. Harry scoots in and shuts the door behind him, tearing up at the sight of Leah.
"Don't you start or I'll start, too." Leah chuckled at her father, moving over and hugging him, careful to avoid ruining his suit with her makeup. He hugged her back, resisting the urge to cry.
The pair separate and Harry clears his throat, wiping the wetness that pooled below his eyes. "They're ready for us, kiddo." Leah sucks in a deep breath, steadying herself. In just minutes she'll be walking down the aisle towards her true love.
Emily gathers the other bridesmaids and leaves the room, hurrying to take their positions. Harry and Sue hold Leah's hands and follow. The wedding party gathers at the door on the main floor, quietly talking and positioning themselves. When Leah and her parents reach the party, Emily pops her head outside, signalling to begin.
One by one, the wedding party walks through the door while Leah stands out of sight with her parents. Once Emily and Sam, the maid of honor and best man also acting as the flower girl and ring bearer, get to the end of the aisle, Harry and Sue walk with Leah to the entrance.
Stealing herself, Leah looks through the room, passing over the guests, until she settles on the man that never fails to make her heart skip a beat. Jared stands next to the officiant, staring right back at her. The moment their eyes meet, the room melts away. Had Leah not been holding on to her parents, she would think they were the only two there.
Harry begins walking down the aisle, prompting Leah to follow. After what felt like an eternity, Leah was standing at the end of the aisle, being handed over to her future husband. The instant she grasps Jared's hand, a spark shoots through her body. Nothing had ever felt so right.
The pair turn towards the officiant, as Leah halfheartedly pays attention to his speech, not being able to take her eyes off Jared. He kept his eyes fixed on her until the officiant got to the vows.
Sam hands Jared a piece of paper, who clears his throat and begins reading. "For the way you changed my plans. For being the perfect distraction. For the way you took the idea that I have, of everything that I wanted to have, and made me see there was something missing. For the ending of my first beginning, and for the rare and unexpected friend. For the way you're something that I'd never choose. But at the same time, something I don't wanna lose, and never wanna be without ever again. You're the best thing I never knew I needed, so when you were here I had no idea. You are the best thing I never knew I needed, so now it's so clear, I need you here always." Before Jared finishes his vows, Leah has already begun crying; makeup be damned. Jared folds the paper again and hands it back to Sam, not taking his eyes off Leah.
Emily taps Leah on the shoulder to break her out of her trance, before handing her a piece of paper. Leah shakily takes it and wipes her eyes before facing Jared again. "It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to and accept you for what you are. I've been waiting, for what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. With you I feel like I can finally begin. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever." Leah looks up from her writing to see Jared's crying eyes staring back at her. Leah hands Emily back the paper as the officiant declares them man and wife.
Jared leans in, sweeping Leah off her feet as he kisses her with as much passion as he can muster. The pack whoop and howl as they watch Jared take Leah's breath away. Stepping back, Jared cradles Leah's face in his hand, before entwining his hand with hers and leading the way out of the room. Leah smiles, leaning into Jared's side, prepared to start their forever.
Jared's vows are taken from the internet, and Leah's are Edwards vows from Twilight: Breaking Dawn
