Hey guys, I'm back with a longer chapter. I'm sorry for being gone so long, school took me longer than I expected. I have finals coming up in three weeks, so I'm going to be super busy with projects and studying... so probably next week, I won't be able to get on at all. Soooo...please be patience with me. :D
I started to walk on this trail that would lead me to his house. I stopped as I saw his house and the salvage yard. It's still the same since the last time I was there. I searched for his car and it was there. So he's home.
All of the sudden, I had butterflies in my stomach. How would Bobby react to me once he saw me?
I let out a heavy sigh to try calm down my anxiety and started to walk up the stairs slowly.
I put my right hand up and I paused for a second. I then knocked softly. I waited for a minute until I heard footsteps coming up behind the door. I felt my heart kicked up a notch as the door slowly opened.
Bobby stood there with his hand on the door, with shock on his face. He quickly shook it off and quickly grabbed his shotgun near him.
I put my hands up in defense. "Bobby! It's me… I swear." I pleaded as he pointed his gun at me.
"It's not you! Emma's dead… you're in her body and you need to get the hell off on my property before I shoot you!" Bobby warns me, cocking his gun.
"Bobby, please. It's really me. What can I do to prove it to you?!" I whimpered, staring at him. I could feel the sweat breaking out on my forehead.
"You can't prove that you're Emma! She's dead, god damn it! Whoever the hell you are, I am going to kill you!"
"Bobby, wait! Okay… okay… I'll prove it to you. Just give me your silver knife that you always hide in that box next to you and I'll cut my arm to prove that I am not a demon or whatever. Plus, there's holy water in the silver flask that you always have on you.
Bobby slowly puts his gun down as I explained my knowledge where he usually hides his stuff.
"Bobby… another proof that I am really Emma. I…" My voice quivers as I felt the emotions rushing through my body. "I… I gave you my will and the letters that night I died."
Bobby tears up quickly. "Emma?" He whispers, staring at me.
"Yes… It's me, Bobby." I whisper, putting my hands down as I realized that he had put down his gun.
"Oh my god, Emma!" He sobs out loud, grabbing me into his arms and gave me the tightest hug that he had ever given me in my life.
I wrapped my arms around him, letting out a sob. "Oh, Bobby!"
We stood on his porch, weeping in joy and in relief for me.
I walked around in his house while I waited for Bobby to come back. I stopped in the living room and I could see piles of books on his desk and on the floor too. I bent down and picked out one of the books on the floor and started to read.
"I see that you're reading about heaven and hell…" Bobby stated as he walks in with a bottle of whiskey and a silver knife with him.
I closed the book and put it back in place. "Yeah… so you got the silver knife and whiskey…" I said, looking at them in his hands.
Bobby nodded. "Better be safe than sorry," he says, passing the knife to me. I took it and presses it to my palm, making a short straight line cut, releasing the blood.
"See… the silver knife didn't affect me." I said, showing him my self-cut. He nodded and passes me a towel.
I wrapped it around my hand. He pours the whiskey into two glasses and passed one of them to me. I took a sip, relishing the taste of whiskey.
"Good whiskey, huh?" Bobby says, sitting down at his desk.
"Best damn one in a long time…" I said, cracking a smile at him.
Bobby chuckled at me. "I missed you…. Missed your smile."
I nod, putting the glass down on the fireplace mantle. "Yeah… I missed you guys too. Bobby… please be honest with me. Did you bring me back?"
"No, Emma. Even I wanted to bring you back, I couldn't go out and sell my soul to get you back. The boys would have beat my ass up if I tried to do that…. Hell, I even wanted to beat Dean up when Sam came back. "
I frowned at him. "Then… who did? Please tell me it wasn't Sam or Dean. I know Dean already sold his soul for Sam, but…. Well?"
Bobby shook his head, wrapping his hands around the glass of whiskey.
"Emma, I can't tell you exactly who brought you back, but I'll find out. I'm going to call them to make sure that they didn't do it. Do you remember anything since you came back?"
I looked away, then back to Bobby. "Nothing. It's like I have selective amnesia. I mean… I remember the demon stabbing me and the darkness overwhelming me. Then the next thing I know is that I'm on a field out of nowhere this morning. That's all I remember and that's very frustrating for me."
"I know, Emma… we'll figure it out, I promise. I'm just glad that you're back. When you died… it took us a long time to recover."
I nodded, tears rushing to my eyes. I took my glass off on the fireplace mantle and drank it all the way. I put it down on his desk.
"I'm sorry, Bobby… for putting you guys though my death. I know it must… have been painful for you. Anyway, I'm going to take a long hot shower… I need it."
"I'll put the towels out for you and you can change in your old bedroom. I got rid of your old clothes after you passed away so you can borrow my late wife's clothes until you can get some new clothes," he says, walking to me and gave me one more hug.
I flash my smile at him one more time before I went upstairs.
As I peeled my clothes off, one by one until I stood naked in front of the mirror while waiting for the shower to warm up.
I could tell that I had been reborn because there was no evidence of my old wounds and scars from the hunting life except the cut on my palm.
I stepped into the shower and sigh happily as I stood under the hot shower running all over my body.
I washed my hair and got out of the shower, wrapping the towel around my body, not bothering with my dripping wet hair. I quickly walked back to my old bedroom and found his wife's clothes folded on my bed.
I went through his late wife's clothes until I found her purple plaid blouse and some old sweatpants.
I put them on and they fit me, just a bit loose, but it was fine with me.
I looked out of the window and the sun was setting. I stood there, watching the sun slowly disappearing until it was gone. I decided to come downstairs and Bobby was in the kitchen, cooking for dinner.
I sat down in the old beaten up chair, bringing my legs up and I wrapped my arms around them. I watched the flames burning the logs in the fireplace, lost in my thoughts.
Bobby's POV
After I got off the phone with Sam and Dean, I couldn't bring myself to tell them that Emma was back. So I told them that when they are done with their case, they needed to come down so I could talk to them face to face. I had made some hamburgers and fries for dinner and was about to call Emma to let her know when I found her in the living room.
She was sitting in my favorite chair in front of the fireplace, her arms wrapped around her legs. She was staring at the fireplace and looked lost in her thoughts. As I see her for the first time today since she came, I realize that she looked like a lost little girl, just sitting there with her wet hair sprawled all over her back.
"Emma, dinner's ready." I announced and she lets out a startle gasp, looking at me.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I said, feeling bad already.
"No… you're fine. I was just thinking and I didn't hear you," Emma chuckles, fixing her hair into a braid.
"Are you okay?" I asked, looking at her in concern. As Emma finishes up her braid, she looks at me sadly. "Honestly, no."
I sighed, then pulls up one of the chairs next to her and sat down. "Tell me what you are feeling now."
She stares at the flames for a moment, then looks back at me with tears in her eyes. "I just realized that…. For the first time in my life, I don't even know who I am. I feel like I'm lost. I know I'm different, but I don't understand why I am back on this earth and why I'm here now. You see… I don't even remember where I went after I died. I remembered Dean…. Holding me in his arms and telling me that I was going to be okay… then the darkness came. I don't even know if I went to Heaven or Hell. That's what scares me… the unknown. I keep trying to remember what happened to me, but it's not working." She lets out a sob and I held her hand while she tried to calm down. I wish that I could take away her pain but I couldn't... all I could do is to comfort her.
She continued on. "Right now, I'm just confused. There's something that I never told you that night I died. Do you know why I gave you my will and the letters?" I shook my head.
"That night of my death, I had a vision. I saw myself dying. I saw the demon killing me and instead of staying back at your house, I chose to go. I was willing to go and die to stop him."
My stomach dropped. "What?" I whispered, bringing my hand back.
"Don't be angry please. I had to. I felt that I had to, Bobby. I was so sure that I wouldn't come back so I wrote the letters and the will. I had to lie to you that it was just for the future, which it wasn't. When I was taking a shower, I remembered one detail of my death. When he stabbed me… he confessed that the reason that he had to kill me was because I have another side of me that is forbidden in Heaven and Hell."
I frowned at her. "I don't understand."
"I didn't understand either, but it's possible. It could explain why I had a vision of my birth mother kissing a man with wings. I think I was a product of my mother's affair with angel… probably a rare angel."
I was stunned. "Emma, that's insane. I don't even think that there is such thing as angels. Balls, I don't even believe in them."
Emma sighs heavily and rubbed her forehead. "Bobby, if there is such thing as demons and all kinds of creatures here, then there are angels out there, hidden among us. I don't know, Bobby… it's my theory plus that's what the demon just told me. I don't even know if he was telling the truth."
I nodded. "Okay…then you need to take it easy. You just got back…no need to stir yourself crazy, thinking about this new information. I'm going to get the hamburgers with fries and get some beers for us."
I stood up and walked back to the kitchen.
Emma's POV
As I stare after Bobby's departing back, I knew that he wouldn't believe me. I sighed heavily and looked back at the fireplace again until Bobby came back with the food and the beers. We ate in silence. Well, Bobby ate most of his food while I picked at my burger and fries. Bobby noticed what I was doing with my food.
"I could make you something else, you know?" He says, taking a sip of his beer.
I shook my head, putting the plate aside. "I'm fine…. I'm just not hungry."
"You need to eat, Emma. You just got back and you haven't even eaten at all today."
"Bobby… I know you're trying to take care of me and thank you, but I need… I need to rest, that's all. It's been a long day today." I said, standing up. Bobby stood up and took my untouched plate. "Okay… I'll save this for you for when you are hungry."
I nodded and went upstairs to my bedroom. I took my shirt and pants off, throwing them aside of the room as I crawled into my bed in a tank top and underwear.
I sigh contentedly as I rest my head against the fluffy pillow… damn, been months since I last slept in a bed.
I quickly fall asleep and slept for 13 hours, dreamless.
