2 AM, New Mideel Village,

Zack jerked awake from his restless sleep, he had that nightmare again, which he hasn't had in almost a month. It wasn't like the Inn's bed was uncomfy, on the contrary, it was. The nightmare was just too much for him to handle. He decided against sleeping; it would only continue the ordeal.

By this time, he had picked up his cell phone for the nightstand. He was about to call his girlfriend, but he stopped just close to the call button. 'What am I doing? Its super late, she won't be up at this hour.' He dropped his head back on the pillow with a sigh.

"Bad dream?"

The voice startled him back up, only then remembering that he was rooming with Vincent. The reason why the two were rooming together in the first place was that of a random name draw, while Cid was sharing with one of the Shera's crew. Zack was feeling guilty for bothering his roomie.

"Yeah, sorry if I woke you."

"You didn't."

On the other bed, Vincent was sitting while reading a book that Zack couldn't read the title of clearly. Oddly, the gloomy guy still had his gold gauntlet. While he was tempted to ask, the other was reading. So since his roomie was occupied with his reading, he decided to take a walk to clear his head. The Ex-SOLIDER hopped off his bed and changed his clothes, Catching Vincent's interest.

"Going out?"

"Yeah, I can't sleep so might as well take a walk."

"Gear up then; there could be some mutants that we missed."

"Got ya."

Zack nodded and picked up his gear and weapon. Once fully dressed, he took the spare key and walked out.

2 AM, The Forgotten City...

The old city still had its charm, regardless of the Black Water incident years ago that polluted the lake at the city's entrance. The walls reflected a blueish tint and the homes had shell motifs as if it was all underwater. To many people, its the history of the Ancients. To Genesis, it was his current home and base.

As for his guest, it was where she was murdered. Her arms tightened around his chest, and he continued to carry her deeper into the ruins. This place got her in awe when she was first led to it by the planet. The history, the architecture, the beauty, it all captivated her. It was within these walls, that she learned how to utilize the white materia, and call forth the arcane what magic, Holy.

After that, the horrible recollection started. The frightened stares, the bloodcurdling screams of the girls, the shining blade that had gone through her abdominal, and the pain, the very VERY sharp pain. But soon, that stopped, and her visions started to turn black, faintly seeing Cloud run towards her. She thought she was past that, but sadly wasn't, with that, she could relate to Zack and his nightmare.

"We're here, Angel," Genesis announced as he ducked into one of the homes. There she saw a simple set of wooden chairs, beds, piles of papers, and empty cups of 7th Heaven's to go coffee.

"You drink a lot of coffee."

"You do sell the best tasting coffee in Edge."

He sat her down at one of the chairs, then took his seat in front of her at the table. Aerith carefully gave the room a second examination. Now she took notice of the more cuter motifs that she looked over from beautifully colored perfume bottles that were on a dresser near one of the two beds, to some articles of clothes that were too petit for a guy like Genesis.

"My partner is currently out on a steak out. She should be back later."

"'She'?"

"You'll meet her soon."

"Right... Can we get back to why you brought all the way here for?"

He said nothing, his hand glided over to the pile of papers next to him, pulling out the only group that was packed in a brown 'Classified' envelope. He hands Aerith the envelope as gently as he could, it was as if he was handling a fragile object, which confused her. But as she held it, it felt like there was glass inside. Her sights Immediately shoot up to meet his.

"Open it and see."

His simple response wasn't beneficial; it got her even more cautious. Turning her gaze back at the envelope, she gently squeezed it around the edges, so far, it did not feel like a shape object. A glass sheet? That's a silly idea. Regardless, she finally convinced herself to open the envelope. Inside were glass sides and some papers.

Although nothing interested her at first, her eyes widened after catching a glance at some words on the paper.

It was so calm and peaceful on the hillside overlooking the Mideel's little village. His sword was in the ground next to him; its sharp edge shined from the moonlight reflected off its surface. The atmosphere around him was so relaxing that he ended up laying down on the fresh grass and looked up at the glittering stars overhead. Zack sighed comfortably, closing his eyes and placing his arms behind his head. Aerith would love living somewhere like this, the open air, the clear sky, the friendly faces, and the nature all around them, although that mako lake was a breeding ground for mutants, it's nothing he couldn't handle now and then. He won't mind living in a place like this either, but he knew that both of them wouldn't want to be far away from friends and family. He'll have to discuss the living arrangements with her after her surgery, that's if the doctor agreed to help them.

'It's getting late, and I need to be up early tomorrow' he hopped up on his feet and took up his sword from the ground. He stood still on his spot and continued to stare at his inherited sword, smiling briefly 'I may not be SOLIDER anymore, but I still uphold your morals. I hope you're proud of me Angeal'. He placed his sword on his back then headed towards the village to call it a night. Hopefully, he can finally get some sleep.
