Day of silence
Apapapapa asked for a oneshot of an aged 14 Emma giving her parents the silent treatment because they've inadvertently been ignoring her for their royal duties. They go and spend a day together and she manages to stay silent the whole time.
To the guest that decided to slate justanoutlaw on my behalf: How. Dare. You. I asked her to write a request for me, and she did an excellent job. I didn't care that she used Killian, it didn't bother me. I know she's not a CS fan so knew when I requested it that it would be a possibility. See, the thing is, I actually listened on early requests where she stated that she doesn't support CS. You probably should have too and stopped reading if you are a diehard CS shipper. The only person who speaks for me, is me.
To the rest of you, my dear readers, would you mind doing me a favour? Get yourselves onto justanoutlaw's oneshot series "The Charmings" and give her some love. While you're there, may as well check out her other fabby stories, eh?
Thank you for the flood of requests, I really appreciated it! I've spent the day in my best friend's house in Edinburgh, so still have some to write. I'm back home tomorrow (or now later today, technically) so I'll be right on that. Keep the requests coming! It's been lovely having a full requests list! :)
JRocks: Sorry, but I've already written wish realm Henry doing that :).
Snow and Charming just didn't understand. Emma normally loved when they had the chance to slip off for the day and head out to the meadow. Today, she just seemed like she couldn't be less interested. In fact, she hadn't actually said a word since they left the palace at all. Was it just a phase? Some kind of teenage mood swing? Neither Snow or Charming thought so. Something was up. She was communicating with them by just shrugging, or the occasional grunt. Eventually, Snow was the first one to break. They had been trying to just ignore her behaviour in the hopes that she snapped out of it. No such luck.
"Ok, enough." Snow said, after she asked Emma if she wanted a sandwich and just got yet another shrug in return. "Emma Ruth, what is the matter with you today? So help me, young lady, if you shrug at me again there will be consequences." Snow warned her. Emma looked up at them both for the first time that day. It was very clear she was furious about something. What were they meant to have done?
"It's not nice basically being ignored, is it?" Emma snapped. Snow and Charming were confused.
"I don't recall either of us giving you the cold shoulder any time recently, Emma." He said calmly. "Or ever, in fact." This didn't improve Emma's mood.
"No, maybe not. But when was the last time either of you had an actual conversation with me?" She asked. "I've hardly seen either of you for a couple of weeks now. You're both far too busy with your stupid kingdom to care about your kid." Emma snapped, voice laced with venom. This took Snow and Charming by surprise. True, things had been rather hectic recently for them both, but had they inadvertently been ignoring their daughter because of it? "See! Neither of you can even defend yourselves!"
"Emma, calm down…"
"I will not calm down!" Emma screamed. "I give you the cold shoulder for a few hours and mom nearly lost her rag. Imagine how I've been feeling with both of you basically ignoring me for weeks!" Emma was now crying, making her parents feel dreadful. Maybe they had lost the balance a little. Charming moved over and pulled Emma into a hug. He ignored her attempts to push him off. Eventually, Emma calmed down.
"Ok." Charming said gently. "Emma, we're very sorry if you've felt neglected in any way." He said sincerely as Snow came over and placed a hand on Emma's back. "Although a better way to deal with it might have been coming to us earlier and explaining how you were feeling rather than waiting until you lost it completely." He pointed out.
"Weren't you listening?" Emma sighed. "You've been too busy for me to get a word in edgeways."
"Emma, we've always got time for you. No matter how busy we might seem." Snow promised her. "You can always talk to us. You come first." Emma nodded, feeling pretty stupid for losing her temper like she did.
"I'm sorry." She said quietly. "I should have said something earlier. I just didn't know how."
"It's alright." Charming said, kissing the top of her head. "Can we move on from it now? All of us?" He asked her. Emma nodded. She didn't like fighting with them.
"Good." Snow said with a smile. "Now, would you like another sandwich?" She asked, bringing them right back to where they had been before the little bust up. Emma smiled.
"Yes, that would be lovely."
