Charter 5: Calm Before the Shitstorm

The day started as beautiful as any other to Aang, the sun was shining through the cracks of his earth tent, he could hear the birds singing, the nice scent of the flowers that were blooming outside could be smelled miles away and, on the top of that all, his beloved girlfriend, was there, hugging him while sleeping peacefully. This made him smile and kiss her forehead, making a loving grin slowly appear on her face while she snuged more against his chest. He chuckled once again and, with a sigh, reluctantly took off her arms around him and went to the corner of the tent. He, carefully to make no sound, sat down and started to meditate and ponder on the last week's events. On this weird metal guy who had been following them and who could blow up things ... with his mind? How could that kind of power be real? It seemed impossible and even foolish said out loud, and yet there he was, a witness that had experienced such raw power so directly. He also pondered about his talk with Roku about Fire Lord Sozin. So that's why he felt so guilty about the war, he had the power to stop it with a simple move and yet he didn't do it. Of course, Aang understood and even approved, in a sort of way, Roku's choice. Sozin was a dear friend to the former Avatar and no one should have to make the choice between a loved one and the greater good. But wait ... that's exactly what Aang did when he chose Katara over the Avatar State. Doubts and desperation quickly overwhelmed the peaceful moment ... "Did I make the right thing?" He thought "Of course I did, I love Katara and the price was simply too high. But what if someday I'll need the Avatar State to save her? She's My Angel, I'll find a way. And if Ozai is simply too strong for me without the Avatar State? He would kill Katara and the others right after me. I'll find a way! But what if ... I'LL FIND A WAY!" Some seconds of silence between his thoughts passed until he felt a hand on his shoulder and right after a push.

"Good morning My Love!" Katara greeted him with a smile before kissing him deeply. Huí seemed to ignore for the first time their kiss and simply greet Aang by meowing."You know what time is ... What's going on?" Her giant grin quickly turned around to a worried frown when she noticed his eyes. Like said previously, one of the things she loved the most on that silver orbs was their expressiveness, she could see through them to his feelings, and it wasn't pretty what he was feeling right now. Confusion, sadness, rage and more than anything fear. "Aang, are you alright?"

"I can't just say no." "Of course I am My Angel. Why do you ask?" he lied, forcing the best smile he could muster and petting the cat in the head who became as curious and worried as his best friend. She analyzed his eyes for a second to see if he was telling the truth but unfortunately for The Avatar his eyes denied his lies. Noticing that clearly something was bothering him a lot and that he was lying to her, she sat down in lotus position in front of him and, just like he had made her when he discovered that she was the Painted Lady, she said.

"You can stop lying now."

His face turned into a fake confused one. "What do you mean? I'm not lying."

"Yes you are and don't even try, you're an open book for me. C'mon Aang, you know you can tell me everything."

"But I ... but I ... " he sighed in defeat and his head went to face his legs. "I'm sorry Katara but I won't tell you. This time I want that to stay with me."

She reflected for a little looking deep into his eyes. "Can I ask why?"

He immediately responded. "For the same reason you won't tell me about the Sol guy ... I'm not ready."

"It was something that you did wrong?" She asked after some seconds of reflection.

"Yes-I mean no ... I don't know ... Please, could we stop talking about this?" Huí, that saw that Aang was clearly confused and sad about something, climbed to his lap and started to rub his head lightly against his stomach as if saying that everything would be alright. Aang when saw this kind gesture smiled thankfully and petted his head once more.

Katara was silent. She wanted him to tell her what was bothering him, not because of curiosity but because she believed that if he told someone he would feel better. She was about to try and make him talk once more, until she, unintentionally, gave a small glimpse at her cat that was looking back at her. This animal was amazing, he could easily show Katara the other side of her mind with a single look, as if he knew her better than anyone else, even herself. The other side of her mind told her that this was not the right moment to talk about this, that Aang was hurt by something, probably by something he had done. It told her that if she pushed forward Aang would be worse and that he would tell her one day, when ready. "Okay." She finally said earning a content meow from the fury creature. "I'll respect your choice."

"Thank you My Angel." Some seconds of silence surged once again that were broken when a smirk started to grow in the young man's face "So. changing to a more important subject. Do you want me to do your hair or not?" His answer was a grin alongside the usual shine on her eyes, this made him chuckle, take out Huí from his lap, get up and go out to choose a flower for her hair leaving Katara and a Huí with his kind of proud smile looking at Katara.

"What?" She snapped when she saw her friend's snout earning a proud meow. "Yeah, yeah. I did the right thing, I know. I just don't understand why he won't tell me." The cat meowed again, slowly walking at her. She grabbed him, placed him at her lap and started to pet him. "No it can't be. It was Aang who didn't want me to tell about Him. I was about to tell but he stopped me and told me that I wasn't ready." Another meow, this one curious. "He? It's a long story. Maybe one day I will tell you Huí, but I think Aang is right, I'm not ready to speak about it, not even to him." Huí gave an understanding meow before another one but this time joking with her. He then snuggled against her starting to purr while she chuckled a bit. "Yes you are."

...

"Okay, I'm ready." The morning was being boring just like the rest, so the Gaang decided to train Aang's earthbending by putting him in the middle of them all with an eyefold forcing him to use his earth-sense.

"One week." Toph said, her head facing the ground, making him and Katara look at her. "One week it was the time that I SUFFERED just because of YOU!" Her hand rapidly pointed at Aang who gave a step back "You made me make HORRIBLE things, and you think that you are ready? Eh, oh poor Twinkle Toes." She slowly raised her head showing a giant smirk giving her friends a joking view of her speech. " YOU'LL NEVER BE READY FOR MY VENGEANCE! MUAHAHAHAHA" When shouted this, Toph threw him three big boulders that were hardly dodged by the young airbender, one of them almost hit Katara. "ONE WEEK TWINKLE TOES! YOU TRAINED ME FOR ONE - FUCKING - WEEK!" One more bolder. "YOU MADE ME CALL YOU SIFU AANG!" She stumped the ground and multiple pillars started to grow close to Aang, who had to dodge them. Katara simply was paralysed by the view, she knew that she would have to train Aang too, but was Toph's moment now. "YOU TORTURED ME BY GIVING ME ORDERS!" She once again threw him a boulder that landed right in his open hand. He by response retaliated his attack which made her punch the boulder breaking it to pieces. She stopped "You train me, you TORTURE me, you make me call you Sifu Aang, and now you ATTACK ME? YOU'RE DEAD TWINKLE TOES!" There was no anger in words nor in her attacks, this was simply her way of showing how thankful she was for the training, but what she made after made both Aang and Katara shiver. Toph right after her words put her hands above her head as if lifting something very heavy and, with a grunt of effort, the piece of land where Aang was was lifted by an invisible force. Aang paralysed for a second, now truly blind, he tried to jump off the floating island, though he did not manage when water slammed at his face making him fall in his rear by the surprise. He tried multiple times to escape and 'see' his friends once again, but every time he tried the same thing had happened, Katara would bend the water right at his face with a giant smirk. Some second has passed and Toph was grunting by the giant effort, so, showting "FEEL MY WRATH, BITCH!" she slammed the floating island into the ground giving Aang less than a second to escape. She was breathing heavily just like Aang, but after a few seconds she looked at him once more and announced. "Well, I'm ready for some training."

"WHAT?! This wasn't training?!"

"No of course not." The blind girl responded as if it was the most obvious thing in this world. "This was my vengeance, now we'll really train." Aang grunted but didn't have time for doing anything else because of the water sound that quickly went at him. He could escape without being hurted though it cost a lot of effort. As if on cue the earthbender launched a giant boulder right at his head making duck for a second before doing the same at her. Toph punched the Avatar's boulder and with the other hand threw him another that he also defended. The train lasted at least an hour with the three of them, mainly Aang, arfing from exhaustion. But everything has an end and this one came when Toph accidently hit Katara by the third time making her fall this time.

"Ugh! Toph, is the freaking third time that you hit me! If I didn't know you better, I would say that you're doing it on purpose!"

"Then you don't me that much." This comment made Katara glare at her with a deadly look and soon enough she was bending water towards her while she continued speaking. "Cuz that would be something that I definitely would ..." She didn't manage to finish her sentence before being splashed, Toph in response and against everyone's expectations laughed and said with no trace of anger in her voice "Hahaha. Good one Sweetness. I liked it, just make sure that you don't make it again. This one I'll let it pass cuz I ..." Another splash, this one had a completely different effect on the blind girl that clenched her fists while the attacker teased.

"What?" She asked with a smirk growing. "You said that you liked it." This was it, three months of pure frustration they had just for trying to get along and this was the trigger. Toph would show that pesky little waterbender that she couldn't just splash her water on everyone she wanted and get out without getting a consequence for it. She grunted angrily and stomped her foot on the ground making a pillar launching her right at Katara who had to ready herself in a second for the impact. Aang slowly took out his eyefold and started to walk at them.

"Um, girls?." As if on cue, Sokka started to run at Aang with a hand in his head ready to attack, shouting "SNEAK ATTACK!" Sokka learned the hard way that he shouldn't shout his sneak attacks when Aang bended the ground beneath him so that he would trip, making him fall. "Sokka, we kinda stopped training. And really? Shout your sneak attack? Girls!"

"Want some mud!?" Toph shouted now on the fresh mud puddle just to throw it at the waterbender's face.

She cleaned her face, shouted "I'll give you the mud!" and bended a flow of mud right at Toph's face making her fall to her rear. She quickly got up and bended the ground so it could give them some space and almost immediately bended a boulder to her face. But, sadly to her, the boulder was destroyed by a rogue wall that surged between the girls. "HEY! Mud and water is a thing, "Aang said " but pure stone is a down move."

"You're just doing that cuz she's your girlfriend."

"That's not true. If she would bend cold hard ice at your face I would do the exact same thing. Anyway, is time to stop. You already had your vengeance and I already had my training."

"Pff whatever." Katara came walking at her boyfriend just to punch him in the shoulder.

"That was for not letting me kick Toph's butt." She responded, predicting his question before starting to angrily walk away, obviously to clean her muddy suit.

"Oh well. While the Madame Fussy-Britches there cleans herself, how about he have some fun?" Sokka quickly shouted yes and Aang simply agreed, still looking at the direction that Katara went. He was a bit worried, not about her but about him. If Katara had a flaw, the temper was, he still remembered the last time she got really mad at him because of Toph, it wasn't pretty. He shook his head at the memory and started to walk with Toph and Sokka to the town.

...

"I've been thinking." Sokka started walking by the hawks shop building. "How about buying a hawk?"

"Why?" Aang asked.

"Well imagine the possibilities. I could be at my bed and send it to someone so that someone could bring me food to the bed. It would be paradise!"

"Is that all you think of?" This time Toph.

"No of course not, there is also ... huh." He tried to remember something real hard but nothing relevant appeared.

"That's what I thought." Was her response.

"Anyway, we can't. We only have one silver piece, and Katara would kill us if we don't appear with food after shopping."

"Twinkle Toes, you should stop fearing her."

"I don't fear her." He defended himself earning the typical "don't even try" look from his friend "I hate when you do that."

"Wait!" Sokka stopped looking at Aang disbelieving "You are afraid of my sister?"

"Only when she's really pissed off. Even you have to admit that she's pretty scary when she is at those moments."

He swallowed in dry reliving the painful memories. "Yeah, she kinda is." He admitted earning some laughs from Toph who started to walk once again.

"Really?" She hardly managed to speak "Only I am not afraid of her? Who's the little girl now?"

"It's difficult Toph." Aang continued. "That face she does is just ..." This made him shiver at the memory. "Both!? I'M COMPLETELY CALM!"

"Anyway." Toph said when she stopped laughing. "I have an idea of what to do with the money ..."

"Yeah me too," The Avatar replied ironactly "buy food. I don't know about you but I don't want to be killed."

"Oh shut up. How about earning more money?"

"And how are you planning on doing that?" This time Sokka earned a simple move. Toph simply pointed to two men and between them there was a table with three wooden bowls and a little green stone. One of the men placed a bag full of money on the table and the other one, with a giant smirk put the stone beneath one of the bowls turned around and started to switch them in place rapidly. "Can't see your point."

"Of course not, you're no earthbender."

"I can't see either." Aang responded, earning a disappointed look.

She started to shake her head slowly ironically "So disappointed, Twinkle Toes." She returns her gaze to the two grown up men that now one of them was crying in the shoulder of one friend who was near while the other one was with his smirk even bigger weighing his new bag. "The thing is, the guy who is playing is waiting for a fair game where either him and the dealer are playing by the rules. There's where he is mistaken. The dealer is an earthbender and right at the end he switches the stone to another bowl without the guy noticing. Watch out." She slowly started to walk at the dealer and "accidentally" bumps into the table.

"Hey there young lady. Be careful." The man warned, truly worried.

"Ouch. I'm sorry, I'm blind and those two idiots. " She pointed at the general direction of Aang and Sokka "don't help." She turns around" YOU USELESS, PIECES OF SHIT, WHY DO YOU THINK I'M PAYING YOU!?" she turns again to the dealer while the two boys start to run at her "I'm sorry again." She started to turn around but the man called her before she could walk away.

"Wait. Do you want to play a friendly game? You look like a girl who likes to play these kinds of games."

"Were you listening? I'm blind, how can I play?" She remembered, a little annoyed.

"You don't have to see to have luck." He said with a smirk making her shrug, give him the only coin she had and start to fumble her way to the bowls. Seeing that she could find nothing but plain wood, she turned her head to Aang and shouted.

"HEY MEATHEAD! HELP ME HERE DAMMIT!" Sokka quickly went to her and helped while the dealer's smirk grew wider. She felt the three bowls and then gave a thumbs up to the dealer who lifted the middle bowl showing the green stone. Soon after, he started to switch the wooden bowls of place, and when finished Toph pointed to the right one.

"Very good, very good." The man congratulated throwing two silver coins at the table.

"I'll take that as a 'you won.'."

"Yes Leen, you did." Aang reassured, grabbing the coins.

"Thank you, it was very funny." She started to get up but, once again, the dealer called.

"Wait, before you go. What about making this a little more … interesting, shall I say?"

"I'm listening." This made the man smirk even more.

"Let us say that you put your friend's sword "Sokka quickly hugs his sword in a protective way and start to mumble something to it. "for … let us say, twenty coins?"

"What no, of corse not." Sokka sighs relieved and puts it back on its place after giving it a little kiss. "Forty and is a deal."

"Deal!"

"WHAT!?" Sokka hugs his sword again while Aang tries to take it out. "NO! YOU WON'T TAKE IT! NO!" It wasn't easy, but soon enough Aang managed to take it out of him apologizing and giving to Toph who quickly placed it on the table near the money bag.

The man once again showed the little green stone beneath one of the bowls before starting to shuffle them. But he did, he threw the stone to his sleeve, and was there when Toph, with a little grin, closed her hand into a fist, making the stone go to the former place. The man stopped. And waited for the response, she pretended to think for some seconds before pointing to the middle bowl making the man chuckle. "I'm sorry yong … WHAT?!" He had just looked at the lifted bowl, and there it was the green stone shining a little.

"YAY! I WON!" She shouted while Aang grabbed the money and her wrist and Sokka his sword and started to kiss it multiple times. Soon enough, they started to run away from there the faster they could.

"Where were you?" Katara asked when they finally arrived at the camp. Aang immediately put himself in the front with a basket full of food.

"We went to the market, My Angel. We bought food." Cold sweat running down his forehead when she leaned closer and started to inspect the bag. Soon enough she looked back at him smiling and kissed him on the cheek making him sigh in relief.

"Thank you sweetie. But how did you paid? I'm sure that we only had a silver coin. You can't buy all this stuff with just one coin." The Avatar's face immediately became pale and the sweat returned.

He hated when he had to lie to her but, or was lying to her or being shouted at. So yeah, he definitely prefered the first."Uhh ... well … uhh. You were mistaken." He said with a giant grin trying to hide his nerves. "We had more than one." Sokka and Toph were simply laughing at his friend without mercy.

"No. I'm pretty sure that there was only one. You're hiding something."

He gasped in fake surprise. "MEEEE?! Never in my inti …"

Toph cut him off cleaning her laughing tears. "Oh forget it Twinkle Toes. We gambled." Aang quickly facepalmed himself and Katara looked at them in disbelief.

"YOU WHAT?!" She looked directly to Aang even more disbelieved."Aang, are you into this?!"

"Um …"

"No. He's not. I'm the one who cheated to wi …" Toph declared being cutted by Katara.

"YOU CHEATED!? Aang, that's literally stealing. You are against stealing clothes but not money?"

Aang puts a "matter of fact" face and voice. "To my defence, this was also for our survival. Without that money we couldn't buy this food."

"Plus, we only cheated cuz the guy was doing the same." This time Toph.

"Whatever the reason is. We had an agreement: No stupid danger. And this is exactly what we agreed not to do. Stupid danger."

Toph immediately talked. "First of all. That was a thing that you agreed with Aang, not me. "Katara was about to intrude herself but the blind kid was faster." Second, this is not stupid danger, or danger at all. We are gambling and cheating cheaters, we can't hurt ourselves by doing that. And Third and most importantly of all, you are too stressed, you should relax."

"I'm just saying this isn't something we should make a habit of doing."

"Oh relax," Toph said again a little annoyed. "This is fun. Oh wait." She looked at Katara with a fake enlightened face. "That's why you don't like it, is it? Cuz is fun and you hate fun."

"I don't hate fun." She places Momo on top of her head. "See? Fun." Momo soon enough slipped out of her head, screeched at her and runned away to Huí, who had become a great friend to him. "Anyway this is dangerous and you shouldn't do it anymore."

"We won't My Angel, and if it makes you happy." Aang reassured lifting his headband so it could show the arrow, put one hand on his chest and the other one in the air. "I make you an Avatar Promise that we won't scam more." with that said he corrected his headband and his arms became relaxed.

"Thank you Aang. Now I'm gonna feed Huí then I'm gonna do something. Love you." The "love you" came in sing tone while she turned away and started walking.

"Love you too." When she got out of earshot, Aang's head fell while Sokka and Toph came to him patting his back in a joking comforting way "I'm a terrible boyfriend!" He almost cried.

"Yes you are, Aang. Yes you are." Sokka said, trying not to vomit and laugh at the same time.

Some hours have passed and, as expected, the two boys and Toph passed it by scamming the "poor" gamblers. They just came back from the city and the first thing they saw was a Katara walking at them. Aang immediately hid himself while the other two talked with her. Katara grunted, only now she had noticed the new thing they had bought. "Really? I thought that Aang made a promise about not doing that anymore."

"Well, he's not the perfect boyfriend anymore." Toph said, holding her laughter.

"Yeah. But anyway, don't you think that these scams are going a bit off the track?"

"Nope." She immediately sighed.

"I think."

"No one cares. You should lighten up more. Stop being like that." With that said she threw a bag full of money at Katara's hands.

"And what? Be like you? A wild child?" And throws back the money that hit her shoulder and falls in the ground.

"Exactly! Be more like me! Look at us, we are traveling through the world, making easy money and without parents to say what we should or not do! This is perfect!" She answered.

Katara was about to say something but before she could a wave of realisation crashed on the shores of her mind. "That's the thing. You're acting like this because of your parents."

"Whatever."

"They were controlling you, so you ran away, now you're just acting like that they never existed. You make believe that you hate them, but you are just guilty."

"Guilty?! Guilty of what?! Running away to help Aang save the world?! If my parents really cared they would be fucking proud! And yes, I do hate them!"

"Whatever! But it doesn't matter! We already have a Third-eyed-freak trying to … do I don't know what with us. These scams will only give us more attention!"

"Speaking of with." Sokka interrupted "I've been thinking of an easier name for our third-eyed friend. How about …" he stops for some seconds to dramatization "Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man!" "Silence was his answer. "Think about it."

"We have enough money and things! You need to stop this shit!" Katara continued.

"I'll stop this whenever and if I want." Toph stomps her foot on the ground and the bag of money comes flying at her hand. She turns around, sits in a random place and makes an earth tent. Katara just stares at it.

"Oh well." Sokka says "I'd love to be here and all but, I kinda have something to do so. Bye." And he walks away. Katara continued there for some seconds before walking away, she had to speak with someone.

"AANG!" It was hard, but she finally found him bathing Appa on a lake near.

"Oh shit, Katara!" He shouted ununtently. "I mean. Hello, My Angel." This hello came very sweet and innocent.

"Cut the crap! You made me a promise!" She yelled now closer to him.

"Did I? I don't remember." Cold sweat was streaming down his face once again.

"Aang, don't push it!"

"Sorry." His head went to face the ground.

She took a deep breath before continuing but with a calmer voice. "You promised, Aang. Why did you do it?"

He chuckled nervously "Yeah. It's kinda hard to stop something so funny." This made her sigh "Look, If it makes you REALLY happy then I'll stop."

She chuckled also. "It would make me REALLY happy if you stopped."

"Then it's done. I will not scam anymore and that's an … Aang's promise." This made her chuckle a little more. Was really incredible how Aang managed to make her laugh, even in a moment that she was supposed to be mad at him, he had mastered that habillity perfectly.

"What's the difference?"

"The Avatar's promise is the promise that the Avatar makes, the Aang's promise is the promise that Aang makes." He leaned closer and whispered in her ear as if he was telling a dirty rumor. "They say that the Avatar sometimes breaks his promises, you can't trust him that much."

She laughed a little because of the joke and gave him a little kiss on the cheek. "Yeah, I've already got that." She started to walk away but Aang called her first.

"Um … Katara?"

"Me?" She said looking at him. He clearly was a little nervous and she got it the wrong way. So she crossed her arms on the chest and sighed. "What did you do this time?"

"What? Oh no, it's nothing like that. I just want to ask if … "He took a deep breath and grabbed her hands." Katara we have been together one month from now and there is a thing that we never done, probably cuz we never had time but we have now. Katara will you … go on a … date … with me?"

Katara couldn't believe this, he was so nervous for such a simple question, his face bright red. She had to hold really, really hard for not to start to laugh in his face. Of course she would accept, but she wanted to make him suffer for the break of promise. "Mhhh … I don't know." she teased, her hand going to rub her chin. "I don't know if you deserve a date from the most WONDERFUL girlfriend in the world." Her face, cocky.

He spotted the joke and decided to get in. "Not even The Avatar?" she shook her head. "So what shall I do to earn such honor."

"Hmmm … you shall prove me your honor by giving me a gift, something to show your value."

"Everything you want my Lady."

She thought for a few seconds and finally speaked. "You shall give me … a kiss." he started to lean with a smile but she stopped him. "Do you think that it's going to be easy?" she continued "You have to earn it." She then pushed him making him fall and started to sexually undress herself revealing her swimming undergarments, though truth be told, Aang hardly managed to keep his hands to himself. If it was hard before, now … was near to impossible. He even got up and gave a small step towards her but quickly stopped, shook his head and looked away. Katara noticed and smiled seeing that her spell was working once more. When she finished her work she threw her clothes to the shore as quietly as she could and bended a ball of water to her hand. Aang was still trying to look away from his girlfriend so that the blood didn't get out of his face to go to a place much worse. But he wasn't expecting the next thing, he felt a giant, cold and fluffy ball hit him in the head making him fall once again. When he looked at Katara, he saw her with a small snowball in hands. "To earn the kiss, you shall fight for it." And threw the ball right at his face, making him grunt and she to laugh.

"So you wanna fight?" He asked, getting up, a smug smile on his face, "You shall have a fight." They both take a defensive position, waiting for the opponents move. The waiting stopped when Katara bended a wave at him just like she had done to Toph, though this time it didn't work because Aang managed to defend it by cutting it in half and throwing her a water ball that she redirected at him and he did the same. Soon enough, they started to make Aang's old waterbending training nevertheless this time was more intensive. The ball was not slow like before, it was literally a cannon bullet that, if not redirected, it would hurt in the minimum and Katara was planning in using this property to her favor so, she, with a movement of wrists, she froze the water and slowed it a little so that If hitted Aang wouldn't hurt as bad. Though, even with the help, he didn't manage to bend it back to water and the ball hit him in the stomach making him fall for the third time. "Well, that's it." He warned still on the ground while Katara was laughing. "I was trying to be a good boyfriend but this time I won't let you win." Clearly, he was only joking, Katara was twice better than him as a waterbender.

She stopped laughing giving place to a fake worry expression in her face. "No. Oh mighty Avatar. Don't do that. Please."

"Ah begging for mercy, eh?" Now on his feet. "Afraid that I might hurt you?"

"No. I'm afraid that if you do that, I might have to fight seriously. You wouldn't like that. Hell, I wouldn't like that, I would be the worst girlfriend ever." They both started laughing again until Aang bended multiple water balls and threw them at his lover. She could easily redirect them but, so that it wouldn't be always the same, she chose to hide herself behind one of Appa's paws. Seeing this, Aang bended the flying water so that it could hit Katara once again and, while she was defending the first ball, Aang bended another so that it could hit her in the back. This time he managed to hit her finally, making her squeak from the cold surprise.

"One-one!" He shouted and jumped to the water.

"So it's like that, eh? Very well oh Avatar." She also jumped to the water. Appa, seeing that he hadn't his friends on top of him anymore, twirls himself and starts to walk to the shore with a loud roar. Both Katara and Aang were quiet, both had giant smirks and both were waiting once again. Aang quickly bends a big wave at her that she had to dodge and counterattack with a water whip that fastened in his left arm, swirling around it. Aang when felt the cold sensation immediately tried to free himself, or at least he would tie because Katara locked the other arm with another water tentacle. She then, with a smirk even bigger, pushed both tentacles making him fall with the open face on the water. "Two-One for me." She freed him and he got up in the polvus stance simply waiting. She also waited for his attack, but he never came so she decided to do it herself by throwing multiple attacks. Water balls, ice balls, water whips, waves even ice daggers, and this last was her worst mistake. One of the ice daggers managed to enter into the stance cutting Aang in the cheek. He quickly leaves from the stance with the hands in his cheek cursing his luck. Katara soon was near him trying to comfort "Sorrysorrysorry! I'm so, so sorry Aang, give me your cheek here, I'll heal it."

"Ah damn, this hurts as hell."

When he finally took his hands off his cheek and showed it there was nothing but a little string of blood. "Wait, that's noth … eeek!" Aang quickly got up and bended the water beneath her feet covering them in ice while his arms went to hug her so that she couldn't do anything with her arms. His face almost touches hers with a giant grin and, soon enough, he kisses her tenderly, a kiss that she returned later on.

"It seems that I won, my Lady." He said when his lips and tongue became free.

She sighs. "It seems so. But only cheating."

"I never heard of a rule that said I couldn't do this while sparing with my girlfriend for a kiss."

"This is one of those unspoken rules."

"Never heard of such a thing. But anyway, " he let her arms go and unfrozen her feet "will you finally give me the honor to have a date with you?"

She sighed again. "There was a deal, wasn't it? So yes, I give you the honor. Cuz to the opposite of somebody, I keep my promises."

"Thank you My Angel. Now, if you kindly found me at the camp's exit, I would be very happy." He pecks her lips and starts to walk away but …

"Hey, Aang?" Katara called.

"Hmmm?"

"Come here." He started to walk at her just to be grabbed by the chin. "Let me see this." She demanded analyzing his new wound.

"Oh forget that, it doesn't hurt."

"Shut up." He rolled his eyes and she bended water to her right hand putting it in his cheek. "There you go." She even slapped softly his cheek to make sure. "Good as new. I'll find you at the exit." And started to walk away after giving a kiss on the same cheek.

Thirty minutes had passed and finally Katara arrived at the exit, Aang had been there for ten minutes and, honestly, he didn't expect Katara to take that long. "Women." He thought, but immediately slapped himself mentally for thinking such a thing when he saw her. She was prettier than ever before. She had her Fire Nation suit and the necklace he made, her hair was exactly as the first time he had made it but with two red roses and one black in the middle. Though what caught his attention above all things, was her face. She had put … makeup? That didn't make any sense, did she buy it in the town? Did she make it? Did she even know to make her own makeup? Aang didn't know and, honestly, didn't care at all, though he would ask anyway. But the point is, she was beautiful - no, gorgeous - no, amazing, there were no words to describe. He could bet his entire life that even Meynu, the spirit of love and beauty, would be envious of that face. Her lips were soft strawberry red and she had a ebony black eyeline. The truth is that he was with his jaw on the ground this entire time while Katara was walking at him blushing furiously.

"So … um … how do I look?"

"If you were a spirit you would be Meynu herself." He immediately answered making her blush even more.

"You are not that bad ei …"

"Hey, Aang." A male voice called behind them. "I need to … where are you two going?"

"We are going on a date, why?" Katara asked, already annoyed with her brother.

"You are going on a date?"

"Yes." They both responded.

"At the town?"

"Yes."

"Aang, I need to speak with you before you're going."

"No!" Katara said before Aang could. "We're already going! Stop worrying so much about me, Sokka, he won't do anything to me! And besides, I'm a big girl, I can defend myself."

"No it's not …" In that moment a screech from Momo was heard and a Fire Nation hawk came flying at all speed to Sokka's shoulder. Katara immediately facepalmed herself and sighed.

"Sokka … please, tell me you didn't buy a messenger hawk."

"I did." She sighed again. "Anyway, Aang I need to speak with you."

"You won't let us go if I don't talk, isn't it?" He shook his head and Aang sighed. "C'mon." They walked away and quickly Aang spoke annoyed. "What do you want?"

"Look at this." Then he put a paper in his face.

"WANTED

"The Runaway" is a master earthbender girl not older than fourteen years old , who has been disguised as blind. Whoever has valuable information about the whereabouts of the criminal will be rewarded with 500 silver coins if proven to be correct, lying to the authorities about this will be punished with prison for some months. If somehow, someone manages to capture the criminal, it will be the same quantity in gold."

In the end it had a poorly designed draw of Toph's face. "That's horrible. We can't let Katara see this, she'll have Toph's head for it." Aang whispered.

"Yeah, I know but you know what's the worst part? It's all over the town." Aang's heart stopped for a second. "You can't go there, no matter what."

"I just can't mark off our date, it would break her heart, and mine also."

"But if she sees this, she would stop it just to speak with Toph. Man, I'm sorry but there is no way of going to the town with her, not now."

"Then I'll think of something." He sighed after some seconds "Thank you Sokka, hide that crap."

"Toph's treating that. Have a good date!"

"Yeah."

"So … What did he want?" Katara asked her boyfriend when he arrived. "Let me guess, he threatened you."

"No. Nothing special really just Sokka being … well, Sokka."

She laughed a little. "Okay, ready to go?" Aang nods and starts to walk back at the camp making a gesture to her to follow.

"I've been thinking, what about, instead of going to a restaurant in town, we go make a picnic?" He proposed with a smile. " I want our first date to be special and romantic. And, I don't know about you but, I think that a meal beneath the stars just the two of us is more special and romantic than a meal in a place full of people."

She hugged his arm, also smiling. "I'm with you, sweetie." He, by response, looks at her and pecks her cheek.

Another half an hour passed since Aang had his talk with Sokka and they just found the perfect spot for their meal. They were on top of a cliff with the view to the beautiful sunset. They also could see the camp they were, a big forest and the beautiful town all full of lights. They placed a big red towel they had bought and on top of it, they put all the food and drink and, soon enough, themselves. "This sure is special and romantic." Katara said, swallowing her food.

"You could say that." He replied still with the berries in his mouth shrugging, surprising her completely.

She immediately stopped eating and looked at him disbelieved. "What do you mean with 'You could say that.'? This is very romantic, I mean it is not like the sky rock fall but still."

"I just feel that something is missing, you know?"

"And what is that?"

He looked at her with a giant grin and answered "I thought you'd never ask." He leaned closer to her and immediately started to kiss her neck tenderly making her sigh and moan quietly with pleasure.

"Aang." She called after some seconds, she never got an answer. "Aang."

"Hmmm."

"Aang, you need to … stop." She managed to say between moans.

"Why?" He asked, his head still buried on her neck.

"We have to, oh Spirits, eat our … food."

This made him stop kissing her neck, making her wine slightly. "Do you think I care about the food?" he replied looking directly into her eyes "No, I care about you." And he went to her lips, though he didn't manage to get there, for Katara placed a hand between them and pushed him.

"No, we need to eat. If you behave properly, we'll continue, but we have to eat." A blush making her way to her cheeks.

He sighed and asked in a childish way. "Promise?"

"Promise." She said making him get away also smiling.

"Okay then. I'll have mercy on you for now."

She laughed "Oh, thank you, oh mighty Avatar"

"Anyway" Aang started after a long and comfortable silence filled only with their quiet eating sounds. "I've been dying to know, how did you get that makeup? I mean, you didn't go to the town yet and we definitely didn't buy it."

"I made it myself." She answered rather casually "Some berries for the lips, and coal for the eyes."

"Coal?"

"Yeah. It makes good makeup if you smash it and put a lot of water."

Only now he noticed. "Wait rewind a little, does that mean that your lips taste like berries?"

"I don't know, I never tasted them." The next thing she felt was her boyfriend's lips on hers kissing and licking her lips softly for some seconds before getting away again. "What did I say about behaving well?" She said smiling.

"Was simply to test my theory."

"And?"

"Yup ... It's a shame though."

"What?"

"They tasted so good, I just couldn't stop myself before taking out your lips paint completely."

"You what?!" She started to touch her lips and see if she found any paint in her hands, though the color was caramel still. "Oh you little …"

When she said that, Aang turned his head to her with a giant, childish grin. "Sorry."

"Shut up. You're not sorry."

"You're right, I'm not." When she heard this, she jumped to him and started to twinkle him.

"So the mister Avatar is not sorry, eh? Lest then change that!"

"NO, PLEASE, HAHAHA, NOT AGAIN! PLEASE! I, HAHAHA, BEG!"

"So, the mighty Avatar is begging?"

"YES, I BEG. HAHAHA!"

"You beg for what exactly?"

"FOR MY … BREATH?"

"And what do you have to do for me to give it back?"

"TO BE SORRY! HAHAHA!"

"And are you?"

"YES! SPIRITS, I CAN'T BREATH! HAHAHA"

"Good. Now don't forget, don't mess up with a girl's makeup. Even more important, don't mess up with YOUR girl's makeup! Are we understood?"

"YES! I, HAHAHA, WON'T!"

"Good." she stopped and pointed a finger at him. "Never forget that."

He started to calm his laughter and got up from his fetal position. "Haha, my girl?" He asked, making her blush.

"Yeah, your girl." She said before giving him a tender kiss on the cheek. "Though that has a price."

"Oh?"

"You're my boy now."

"Hmmm … I think that's too high a price." He teased.

"Oh is it? I could show you the benefits of being my boy. Maybe that would change your mind." The blush just got stronger.

"Maybe." Immediately after these words came out of his mouth, Katara jumped at him again, though this time, instead of twinkling him, she kissed him fiercely, immediately putting her tongue in his mouth and starting to rub it against his. Some minutes passed and they had to get away for breath. "Only you can have this if you choose to be my boy." She whispered still eyes closed, but when she opened them she saw Aang with a giant, childish smirk which made Katara sigh disappointed with herself.

"What about the 'We have to eat the food.' whole thing?"

"It's your fault!"

"My fault?!"

"Yeah, if you just stopped when I told you to, we wouldn't be here!"

"I just couldn't resist, your lips taste so good." He laughed making her buff.

"I hate you."

"No you don't."

"Yeah, I kinda do."

"So how come you kissed me just now?"

"It's to show how much I hate you."

"Then, do you care to show it more?"

She smiles "Oh not at all." and kisses him again announcing the end of the meal. An hour passed filled by love and a very light lust, the stars were visible and Yue took the place of her opposite. The couple never noticed the changes of the world, at least until Katara broke the kiss to yawn and saw the beautiful starry sky. "Wow!" She mustered after the long yawn. The sky was beautiful, the stars were brighter than normal as well the moon. A light white milky way could be seen in the sky and as if on cue a shooting star passed by.

"Now THIS is special and romantic."

"Can't *yawn* argue with that?"

Aang looked at her a little worried. "My Angel, you look tired, wanna go to the camp?"

"What? No. I'm not tired. Why do you say that?" She fought against it but the next yawn was stronger.

This made him get up and extend his hand to her. "Lets go My Angel, you need to sleep."

"No." She whimpered, grabbing his hand and pushing it to the ground, though she was so tired that the only thing she managed to do was make him a little diatabelised. "I want to *yawn* stay."

Aang by response chuckled and said. "Look at you, you're so tired that you can't even push me to the ground."

"Yes - I - caaan!" She contradicted, each word one push and just like the first time, nothing happened.

This only made him chuckle more. "C'mon Katara, just admit that you're tired and let's go to the camp or" now with a wicked smile "I'll make you."

"I dare you!" When she said this, Aang pushed her off the ground, grabbed her by the waist and, bending the air beneath her, placed her on his shoulder as if she was a potato bag and started walking slowly to the camp. She quickly started laughing and punching his back softly. "No! Leave me! I don't want to go!"

"It seems that it is not your choice anymore little lady."

"Aang I swear," now with a fake serious voice" if you don't put me on the ground RIGHT NOW, it's all over between us!"

"Meh." He responded casually "There is plenty of fish in the sea."

Her mouth hangs open for a few seconds just to buff in the end. "I hate you."

"No you don't."

"Yeah, I kinda do." Some seconds passed where the only thing it could be heard was Aanh's heavy steps and a yawn that oftenly escaped Katara's mouth. That was until Katara remembered something. "What about the food?"

"What about it?"

"We left it behind."

"So…?"

"So you won't leave it there, will you?"

He stopped and sighed. "Okay, you're right. I'll put you on the ground, but you won't do nothing stupid, okay?"

"Okay, I *yawn* promise."

He slowly leaned down and put her on the ground earning a content sigh from his beloved. She spended three conted seconds looking at his eyes just to point at a random direction behind him and shout, faking terror perfectly. "OH SPIRITS, A FIRE NATION SOLDIER!"

"WHERE?!" He shouted looking at the direction that her finger was pointing, though just darkness, trees and grass was there, nothing more. He returned his look at Katara and, to his surprise (again), she was running to the cliff, laughing hard. "Oh, you little …." and started to run to her using his airbending to speed things up. Katara when reached the blanket threw herself to it.

"Ahhh. Sweet freedom." She sighed watching Aang running at her.

"You lied to me!" He chuckled.

By response the waterbender placed a finger on her chin thoughtfully and joked. "Reminds me of someone."

"Ha Ha very funny. C'mon Katara you are tired and want to sleep. Lets go."

"But I don't want to go." For a moment there she was just a little girl again.

"Then you have another idea?"

"Yes. How about, we sleep here? You make an earth tent here and we sleep. Pleeease?" Even before he could even think about it, she made her lost puppy face finishing the debate even before it ever beggin.

"Fine." he sighed, earning another childish "YAY!" from his girlfriend. "Give me a second." He quickly stomped his foot on the ground and the earth around Katara's growth, making an earth tent. He went grumpy and grunted while lying down near her. "If Sokka annoys me tomorrow, you're gonna pay."

She, by response, chuckled, grabbed his arm putting it over her waist, snuggled against his warm chest and asked. "And how are you going to *yawn* do that?" Her eyelids heavy and her mind almost numb.

Seeing that the waterbender would be asleep at any moment, Aang, simply kissed her hair and with a chuckle said with a small grin. "You'll find out tomorrow. Goodnight My Angel. I love you."

"Love you … too." And with that said, the eyelids finally gave up, hiding those beautiful sapphire blue eyes, her mind was still her own for a few seconds before being consumed by the void, when that happened the body reacted giving her loved one the most cute snore he ever heard. Damn she's tired!

He again chuckled, she was so cute and adorable. Yes, a powerful waterbender that was forced to grow up much faster than usual. But still, her childish self was simply adorable and … fragile. She would be such a beautiful and capable mother, the perfect mother notherthanless. She is selfless and caring and playful and that motherly instinct is just … Aang sighed deeply, he could just hope for her to choose him to have the honor of being the father of her children. He knew that it was way too early to think of something so … advanced, but he couldn't avoid. If he was certain of one thing, was that he loved her deeply, and that would give ANYTHING to be with her for the rest of his days … even his Avatar State … even his best weapon that could be the last hope for a better world … the last hope to give HER a better world. How could he just be so selfish?! He is The Avatar, the one who couldn't have the luxury to be selfish, the one who couldn't have earthly attachments. He gave up the chance for a better world for her and her future children for such selfish thing as love? He couldn't take it anymore, his heart was racing like never before and he hardly could breath while cold sweat drowned his skin. His eyes were searching the room frenectly for something that not even they knew. He quickly sat up and his head joined the search for such a thing, that until the light of the moon passed through one of the multiple cracks of the tent and hit directly on his eye. He looked at it for a second before looking at his beloved with hurry, just like the thirsty would look at a cup of water. She was exactly the same as a few seconds before, Aang's burning hell did little to her, the only thing that could be seen that was directly affected was her hair that was a little messed by the sudden movement of Aang. He started to take deep breaths telling himself over and over that she was okay and that he made the right choice, but … did he? After some seconds of him trying to calm himself down, he returned to the former position layed down with a protective arm around her waist. He didn't know why but he felt that she wasn't safe and that was his job to protect her from the dangers of this shitty world and it's shitty people.

The hours passed and Aang didn't move a muscle, always watching for possible danger lurking in the dark corners of that tent, ready to harm the fragile person besides him. He in the middle of the night took out his arm off her for a moment and opened the roof showing the starry sky. It made a little sound, but not enough to wake her up. He saw the moon moving and giving place to the sun who also started to move slowly giving light to the so dangerous dark corners. His mind racing faster than ever before, questions and questions came, stopped and went, giving place to new ones. Some were simple and even silly like "Why is the sky blue?" but there were others that were simply destructive and nothing more. His mind stopped in one of them … the worst of them, and the one who made it stop was no less than the main subject of that question. "Hey." He heard, while a soft hand brushed against his cheek.

It startled him a little, but he quickly shook his head, forgetting both the question and the surprise, and looked at the source of the voice with a big smile "Hey yourself." He said before giving a good morning peck on those tasty lips. When the lips separated, Katara defined that the little one second of kissing was not enough, so she tried to kiss him again, though, when she tried to move, she saw herself literally locked in the protective embrace of her boyfriend.

"Umm, Aang?"

"Yeah?"

"Umm, you're hugging me pretty hard."

He quickly took his arm off her and apologized more worried than he should. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just …"

"I'm not complaining, it's just because I can't do this." And with that said she leaned closer to his face and kissed him deeply, staying there for at least one minute. "Now THAT'S a proper good morning kiss, isn't it?"

He chuckled. "Oh yes it is." And kissed again, forgetting completely about that infernal question.

The couple reluctantly got out of their "bed", gathered the rest of the food and the blanket and went to the camp. The first person who they saw that day was the very last person they wanted to see. "So … you finally decided to come, eh?"

"Oh please, Sokka ..." Katara mumbled while her hand went to press the tip of her nose.

"But anyway, I won't bother you about it. But I still want to talk with you, man." Katara sighed for a second but then remembered something and laughed to herself before putting a hand on Aang's shoulder who was a little reluctant about the whole talk thing.

"Go, trust me, you're gonna love it."

He by response shrugged, kissed her cheek and gave her the food bag before following. The laugh just finished a few seconds after she couldn't see them anymore. She started to walk towards the camp, but suddenly she stopped and looked at her right. There were a bunch of random things piled in a mountain and she immediately started to think.

"So man, tell me about it." Sokka said with a giant but, most of all, fake smile.

"About what?" Aang asked, confused.

"About the date of course."

"What?"

"Tell me about the date."

"Why would I tell you about the date?"

Sokka laughed and rested his arm around his neck "Oh poor Aang, you never had a date before?"

"No, this is actually my first."

The face turned to pure shock while his arm got off him. "Wait, what? This is literally your first date? Ever?"

"Yeah, Katara is actually my first girlfriend."

"Oh Spirits, this is gonna be harder than I thought." Sokka mumbled to himself before shaking his head and looking at Aang. "Aang, you're my best friend and I'm your best friend, right?"

"Actually, Katara is …"

"Your best boy friend?" Aang nodded "Then I have to explain you a thing. As your best friend, it is my soleme job to ask you about your first date, even if it means hearing things that I definitely don't want to hear about my sister. And, as my best friend, is your job to tell me about it."

Aang stayed there still, trying to understand all the things that his friend just told him but, in the end, he just came to one conclusion. "That doesn't make any sense, why the hell do I have to tell you about my first date?"

Sokka patted his shoulder. "No one knows my friend, it's one of the laws of the universe. It's one that you can't run away. Now, start telling. Oh and for the record,I'm just doing this because the law says that I have to. I definitely don't want to hear what you and my sister did on your date." He made a hand gesture to him to start.

Aang sighed. "Okay, when you told me about … you know." this past part, he said looking at his sides watching for Katara. "I went to her and said that I wanted to have a picnic instead of a dinner at the restaurant that I saw..."

"Good idea." Sokka complimented.

"Thanks. So we took the food and some blankets and went to search for a place to stay, we found a cliff with a view of the sunset and we started ea …"

In that moment a femenine shout was heard. "YOU WENT THROUGH MY STUFF!"

"Oh what now?" Sokka grunted. "Don't forget what you're saying. You'll tell me later." And, with that said, both young men followed the voice.

Katara just saw her boyfriend and brother walk away while she was laughing hard already expecting the whole "You have to tell me about your first date." thing … just like he had done to … Him. She shook her head at the memory and started to walk to the camp just stopping at a small mountain of things all unorganized, Toph's trademark. She stood there still, thinking for a little, if she should or should not search her things through. I mean, she just wanted to see what she had bought and the money she still had, nothing like searching for something wrong she did. It's something that friends do, right? … Right? So she started to search for her things but was interrupted by a very excited meow. "Huí!" she greeted while kneeling to catch her pet. As soon as the fur touched her skin, the cat started to purr and she started to pet him, starting on his head to the very tip of his tail. "Who's the cutest thing in the world?" *Meow* "Oh yes you are." A minute passed until Katara finally put the cat on the ground and turned her attention to the pile of things. She searched for a few moments until Huí meowed curiously. Katara already knew that if she told the truth, he would do everything to his power to stop her so she decided to lie. "Uhh… Toph asked me to fetch something." The cat meowed incredulously. "Is what it is. If you don't believe me it's your "In this moment she found a paper which is a very strange thing since Toph is blind and can't read nor write. "... problem?" She unfolded the paper to find a wanted bounty with a very poor draw of Toph who is now known as "The Runaway". Katara's fists and teeth as soon she finished reading clenched as strong as they could. She soon enough started to walk at her ignoring her pet and friend. "Toph!" Katara called when finally found.

"What's up."

"What's this!?" And put the unfolded paper in front of her making a little sound.

"Ugh!" Toph grunted. "I don't know! Really you guys have a memory problem or something?! I'm blind, dammit! I - can't - read!" The truth is that Katara knew, and was the whole reason why she found this paper so interesting, but she was so mad with her that the fact passed like water in a pipe.

"It's a wanted poster! "The Runaway", It's how you've been called now?! Ohohoh I bet you're so proud!"

"Where did you find this!?" She asked angrily.

"It doesn't matter where I did find this. The fact is that you're endangering Aan...us all!"

"YOU WENT THROUGH MY STUFF!" Toph shouted when the realisation hit her.

"It was all messed up, I just cle…"

"YOU'RE LYING KATARA!" At that moment the boys came.

"Hey, hey, calm down." Sokka said. What's going on?"

Katara immediately showed them the paper making their hearts stop for a second. "SHE WENT THROUGH MY STUFF!" Toph yelled.

"And so what?" Katar continued "I knew you were hiding something, I just knew. And guess what, I was right." In that moment she practically shoved the paper in the blind kid's face who grabbed it, moulded it and threw it the strongest she could before starting to walk away from Katara. "Don't you walk away from me while talking to you!"

Toph stopped and turned her head to Katara. "And what are to do if I do it, mom? Send me to my room?"

"I wish I could!"

"Well guess what, you can't. You're not my mom, so stop acting like you were!"

"I don't act that motherly!"

"Yes you do! You, for some stupid reason, put in your head that is your job to boss us around and tell what we can or can't do, is not! You're just a regular kid just like us! So stop acting like you were our mother, cuz you're not! I can do whatever the fuck I want and you gotta deal with it!"

"Sokka!" She called practically ignoring Toph. "Do I act that motherly?!"

He puts his hands up defensively. "Hey. I'm staying out of this."

"Aang?!"

Not thinking Aang starts to rub the back of his neck. "Well, I, um…"

"Stop rubbing your neck and speak clearly, for the love of the spirits!"

"Yes ma'am."

"See!" This time Toph, pointing to Aang. "I really can't see what you saw in her, Twinkle Toes. I can't even stand her!" And with that said she walked away.

"Well, I, uh… can't stand you too!" And Katara also walked away leaving Sokka and Aang alone.

A minute of pure awkward silence surged that was broken when Sokka looked at Aang as if this discussion between the girls never happened. "So, are you going to finish what you were telling or…?" Aang just looked at him in disbelief for a moment before shrugging.

"Yeah, why not."

After a long half an hour explanation (half of the time filled by hiding unnecessary details with unassary long explanations and the other half by lying so that Sokka wouldn't annoy him that much.) Sokka, finally had his curiosity satisfied and decided to talk about another topic that Aang had forgotten already. "So… what do you think will happen with those two there?"

He sighed. "I don't know. It was easier if they simply get along."

"Yeah…" on that moment a candle lit in his head. "I have an idea." Aang, who had his head supported by his hands on the cheen, looked at him. "What if we grabbed Hawky and sent a message to Katara pretending to be Toph apologizing?" Aang thought for some seconds about that plan, it was the perfect plan but he had this nasty feeling that they were forgetting something that was bugging his mind. But in the end…

"Yeah, it's a pretty good plan, good job man."

"It's a gift." Sokka said proudly while taking a piece of paper, a brush and taint from his pocket. Aang looked at him confused and when Sokka noticed he asked.

"Where did you take those things from?"

"What? From my pocket, of course."

"But how you… You know what? Forget it. Just write the letter."

"Right." He put the tip of his pencil on the ink pot and, right after, on the paper. The precision and grace was anormal, the letters were perfectly drawn and Sokka, for the first time in his life, didn't have that smug smile that oftenly had when he did something worth of pride. "Here." he said when he finished. "Dear Katara. I'm so sorry, I was wrong in shouting at you. I hope you can forgive me. Toph."

"It's pretty good but maybe put a "shit" there, it would sound very like Toph."

"Yeah, you're right. Wait just…" He molded the paper and tossed it aside before pulling a new piece of paper. When finished, he read it himself and gave it to his friend.

"Yeah very good. I definitely can see Toph say this. Call the bird."

"His name is Hawky." Sokka defended taking out a smelly thing from a different pocket. Soon enough the bird landed on his master arm and eated the thing on his hand. While that Sokka put his letter in the small compartment on its leg and commanded "Hawky, Katara." making it fly to the blue eyed waterbender. She was cursing Toph in a corner when she heard a hoot and was nipped in the arm. She looked at the source of annoyance to find Sokka's new bird. She wondered for a second why it was bothering her but then remembered why normally these birds are used. She took the paper from the little box and read it, and well… it wasn't pretty. What she thought would be a cheesy love letter from Aang (It's so much him.) was an apology letter from, Toph? It said "Dear Katara. Im sorry. Shit, just now I see that I was wrong in shouting at you. I hope you can forgive me. Your friend Toph.". The paper soon was molded by Katara's hand that closed in a fist.

"I KNOW IT'S FROM YOU GUYS!" She yelled looking at the two young men while tearing the paper in multiple pieces. "UGH! YOU'RE DRIVING ME CRAZY!" And with that said she started to walk away from there to the nearest place with water. She undressed herself leaving only her swimming underpants and with a long sigh she slowly walked to the water feeling the cool and relaxing element on her skin. The place that before was filled with frustration and problems, was slowly filled with the relaxing feeling that only the water, her element, could give. But everything has an end, this one came with no one else but Aang who called her on the shore. "Katara?" She didn't respond hoping that he would just go away but well… luck wasn't on her side today. "Katara?"

"Go away."

"Why?"

"Cuz I don't want to talk with you."

"Why?"

Just now she looked at him. "Because I'm mad at you."

"Why?"

"Cuz… cuz… Ugh! Why are you so frustrating?!"

"It's my job as your boyfriend to be so when you need it." He said with a childish grin earning a grunt from the waterbender. A minute of pure and awkward silence appeared until Aang talked before she could. "So… can I enter or… ?" She sighed deeply and nodded reluctantly. He, by response, thanked, undressed himself to his undergarments and entered the cool water. Again awkward silence filled the moment for a few moments.

"Look," Katara started earning her boyfriend's attention. "Don't try to make me forgive Toph because that won't work. She's a pain in the ass and she is just inconsequential and saying that "she's not that bad as you think" won't work at all."

"No, I'm not gonna say that. Also because she is a pain in the ass. She is brute and rude and sometimes painful. Pain in the ass is the perfect description."

"Good. So why did you come here?"

"To spend time with my girlfriend of course."

"Really? You didn't have a better excuse?" She asked with that uncredible look of hers.

"But it's true." He reassured her but she didn't move one muscle of her face. "And maybe talk while I do it."

"And talk about what exactly?"

"About… Toph."

"Ugh, I knew it!"

"Calm down, Katara, is just a talk."

"Whatever. I don't want to talk about it."

"But we will. We have to."

"Why?! There's nothing to talk about that! She's annoying, she's inconsequential, like you said, she is a pain in the ass! There's it all, we don't need to talk about it anymore!"

"Yes we need, because you're seeing just one side of the coin. Your side." She buffed and faced the water making Aang continue reluctantly "Look, you are not going to like what I'm gonna say next but… "he stopped and took a deep breath while his beloved returned her atencion to him leaving the water." You're a wonderful person, you're beautiful, caring, loving and whatsoever but… you're annoying too." Katara's eyes opened wide, this was the first time that Aang was insulting her like that." You're jokes are horrible and you sometimes have that stupid thing of thinking that you can boss us aroud." Her eyes, now with some rogue tears closed hard and she was about to ask him how could then be with her, that until he continued softly. "And you think that all these things are bad? No, for the opposite, this are the things that make you human, that make you the wonderful and beautiful woman that you are, the woman that I fell in love the moment I saw her gorgeous eyes and heard her sweet voice." She returned her look at him with a small smile. He when saw this, came closer and placed one hand on her cheek also smiling." The same thing for Toph. Yes she is annoying, yes she is inconsequential, yes she is a pain in the ass. But that is what make her the Toph that we all know and love. And we kinda have to live with that the same way we live with me and Sokka and you. Are you understanding?" Katara slowly nodded and grabbed his hand with her's, leaning her head to it." So are you going to try to deal with her? " She nodded again." Promise?"

"Promise." When he heard this, he grabbed her hips and pushed them to his, kissing her lips deeply. Though he was not expecting the next feeling. When he did this, he felt two pointy fleshy things hitting his chest right before that pointy thing grow to two fluffy and very, very soft things. He just felt something like this one single time and when he realized what it really was he broke the kiss with a giant blush, looked at them and asked in the most naive way possible. "You're naked?" This earned him a blush and a nervous smile from her.

"Yeah… kinda." He immediately looked away and started to think on something gross but Katara already sick of this thing of him grabbed him by the chin and made him look at her. "Don't hold it, I feel the same." And kissed him deeply again.

Two hours passed and they felt that their make out should come to an end so Aang got out of the water while Katara decided to stay a little more to think about something. Aang dressed himself and went to the camp to eat something but felt a pair of hand grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, when he finally noticed who it was, he saw the thirteen years old earthbender with a face that he couldn't simply describe. It had anger, sadness, a little enlightenment and most of it terror. "Aang." She said with a shaky voice. "If I know that you hurt ONE hair of Katara I swear, but I SWEAR that I'm gonna kill you right there, do you understand!?"

"What?"

"ANSWER ME!"

"Yes. Yes, I understand."

"Good. Consider this a warning. I'm fucking watching you." She released him and started to walk away leaving a confused Aang behind for some seconds before he could grab her on the shoulder making her stop.

"Wait. What was that about?"

"You'll learn soon enough."

"No. You can't just treat me that way and walk away. What's happenin'?" She looked at the ground and sighed.

"Sokka told me of the Sol guy… It's… not pretty."

"But what happened with him?" He had now two pale green eyes looking directly at his soul.

"If Katara didn't tell you then I won't either. It's her job to do it. But don't push her Aang, it's a… disturbing story, okay? She passed through serious shit." She pleaded like she never had before. Her voice was soft and worried with her friend and it could be heard pitty in her voice, something that Aang never heard from her. He nodded and released her shoulder not expecting her next move, she… hugged him. "Please Aang, be good to her. Please." Her eyes were on the verge of crying.

"I-I will Toph, don't worry." He hugged her back for a few moments before she could take a deep breath preventing her tears to fall.

"Well." She said before disbanding her arms off him making him do the same. "You are warned. Now… I'm gonna… bye." And she walked away, leaving Aang thinking about his girlfriend's (apparently) tragic story.

A new day arrived. Yesterday, Katara, had been very absent for the rest of the day. The only time she was seen besides the two discussions she had was on the dinner and in the bed by Aang. Aang just woke up and, to his surprise, Katara wasn't there to greet him this time. They had the tradition since they started to sleep together waiting for the other one to wake up so that they could pass the day together, so it was weird to Aang waking up alone. He thought about that for a moment before shrugging, getting up and dressing himself for the day. As soon he got outside, he saw Sokka on the ground who passed away and Katara and Toph talking with each other, both with a smirk of theirs. He walk coser and heard Toph "Great plan Sweetness!"

"I know right!"

"What's going on?" The man asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Sugar Queen here, had a great pan for the ultimate scam."

"Grea- Wait, what?! Katara had?!"

"Yeah." Told him herself " And it's great…" In that moment Aang also passed away leaving the two girls talking alone. "What's wrong with them?"

"Forget about them. We have things to do now."

"Yeah let's go." And they started to run to the town. When they reached the entrance Katara tied a rope that she got from the camp around Toph's arms, went to face her and gave her a slap on the face.

"Hey why was that?!"

"Shut up and let's go!" Katara grabbed her hands and started to guide her to the city plaza. When they arrived at the giant Azulon statue Katara threw Toph to the ground making her wince in pain.

"HEY! YOU BITCH, I THOUGHT WE HAD A PLAN!"

"You simply went too far! I couldn't take that risk!" Soon enough a guard came to see what was all this fuss about.

"What is going on… Is that… Is that The Runaway?!"

"In flesh and bones." Katara said "I captured this bitch just to hand her to you." This comment made Toph sigh deeply in relief, for a moment she really thought that Katara was really handing her over. But this "just to hand her to you" that was a lie was clearly a way to show Toph that Katara was still on her side.

"Okay? Thank you lady. Now if you kindly followed me to receive your reward."

"You don't need to. I did this for the people, not the money." Another lie, damn this girl was on fire.

"No, I insist."

"Well then. If you insist."

"GUARDS!" Four guards appeared. "You "He pointed to one woman. "Go call the captain. You, the guy and you help me. You can go on" The man guided the two girls to a small building and left Katara with a fat man while he and the other went to put Toph in her cell.

"So I heard that a young woman captured the Runaway."

"That's me." Katara said with a smirk.

"Well then. Come with me please." The man guided her to a door and opened her to her "Please, lady's first."

"Thank…" She didn't have time to finish her sentence when she felt two big hands on her shoulder. When she looked at the owner she saw a big man with a third eye tattoo on the forehead "Fuck." She said.

While this was happening, Aang was waking up from his hard fall. Besides him was Sokka checking him who smiled when he saw his friend's eyes open. "Finally, I swear. I thought that you entered in coma again."

Aang by response went with his hand to his head "Ah, crap. What a hell of a fall."

"Yeah, true."

Just then he remembered what was the really reason of him to fade away so he chuckled nervously hoping that was simply a stupid dream. "I had the stupidest dream. I dreamed that Katara had made a scam plan." He chckled again "Stupid, right?"

"Shit." Sokka's hand went to press the tip of his nose. "I had the very same dream."

"Oh crap."

"Shit! It's a trap!" Toph said to Katara in their wooden cell. Apparently the guardsmen already knew that Toph was a metalbender and Katara a waterbender because when they put Katara in the cell they took out her waterskin making her defenceless.

"Realy?" Katara asked sarcastically, not understanding Toph's real point. "You don't say! So that's why we're sitting in a wooden cage like a rabid cat-dog. I really thought that was cuz we were going to have a tea party with the guards and that third eyed guy."

"Not for us, you dumbass! For Aang! We're simply the bait."

"Shit… Shitshitshit. SHIT! That's why I don't like this scams! I knew that this shit would happen!"

"Hey, don't blame me. Was your idea."

"I know I'm so fucking stupid!" She sighed deeply "I just wanted to show you that I'm not that motherly and that I can be funny."

"Katara you're fun, at least to shout at."

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that too. I know your relationship with your parents. I was stupid in refering that."

"Yeah, you kinda were. But I kinda understand, I would do the same exact same thing in your place. And I'm sorry to call you motherly and all but… well my experiences with mothers is not the best, you know." She quickly cleans a rogue tear. "I try not to think about it but I probably hurted them pretty bad." Katara placed a hand on her shoulder and rubbed it lightelly.

"When this crap is done, I'm gonna help you write a letter to them."

"Really?"

"Really."

"So, where is everybody?" Sokka asked his friend. They both decided to go to the town to search for the girls but when they reached the plaza they had the strange surprise of it being completely empty.

"Good question wait is that…?" In that moment they hear a deep inhale and soon enough a sequence of small explosions going in their direction from a roof of a random house. Aang in pure instinct gave a small jump and bended the air directly at Sokka's chest making them fly away from the big explosion. "It's the third eyed guy!"

"It's Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man... You know what? Forget about that name!"

Aang came running at Sokka and asked. "Wait. You gave him a name?"

"Yeah I mean it would be easier then - Oh spirits LOOK OUT!" When he shouted this he grabbed Aang by the arm and runned away from that specific place that was blown away right after. "How can we win this guy?! I mean, he literally can blow up things with his mind!"

"Run?"

"Run."

"RUN!" And they started running in random directions But whatever they did the explosions followed and when they had the idea to go in separate ways to, at least, confuse him, Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man simply focused on the Avatar that in one of the explosions was too late dodge and was thrown to the closed door of the barracks that was opened soon enough to reveal the two missing girls. "What's up, love?" Katara greatead.

Katara and Toph were just passing the time by talking to each other in random facts until they heard the first explosion. Katara quickly got up and despaired. "Oh shit, he found them! We have to get out of here now! You still have that rock that Sokka gave you at Piadao's castle?"

"They took it from me."

"Crap." Katara starts to walk in circles trying to think better but nothing came… until. "And it's hot here." She took her hand to her forehead to clean the sweat and it was there that she had an idea. "That's it sweat!" She starts to run in place making Toph get up confused.

"Sweat? What?"

"I don't have water here so… "She explained between huffs until she stopped and continued "I'm making my own." She passed with her hand through her forehead and bended the water in it in a blade cutting the wood the faster she could.

"Katara! You're a genius!" Toph shouted amazed by the wonderful idea. "A sweaty and stinky genius." It took ten minutes but, in the end they managed to get out of that reached place, take the sky rock bracelet and run outside. They were reaching the door when they heard an explosion and then a loud bump in the door. Katara opened the door to find Aang on the ground looking at her now with a painful smile. "What's up, love?"

"Better than ever."

"Yeah I can see that, now get up."

"Yes ma'am." They heard another inhale but this time Toph was there to prevent the explosion from hitting them with an earth wall that was immediately destroyed.

"I would LOVE to be here but we kinda don't have time! Where's Sokka?!"

"I'm here!" They followed the voice to see the young man waving at them on the road to the camp. The rest of the team started to run the faster they could at him but forgot for a moment that the third eyed man was still looking at them. Though they soon remembered when they heard a loud stomp, when they looked at the source, they saw the man on the ground pointing that he had jumped from the roof to all the way down. Before he could even think about his next move Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man saw himself with his head frozen. He quickly broke the ice to the punch but wasn't expecting the next thing, when he broke the ice, he saw a big boulder caming right to his face. By instinct he exploded the boulder before it could hit, though that was the worst mistake he had ever made for when he did it, a little pebble that survived the explosion went flying right to the middle of his third eye. He never felt something like this, all of his senses were screwed up. He could see but everything was blurry, he could hear yet only his heartbeat. He tried to focus on the four kids but in a blink of eyes their blurry silhouettes were gone. But still, his stubborn nature didn't let him lose so he inhale though that was a mistake even worse for when he did it the sequence of explosions instead of going in a perfect line to his target, like they would normally do, they started to blow up around him until one of them hitted the ground exploding him to it.

While this world of confusion and horrible surprises to the older man, Team Avatar was almost reaching the camp still running. "Hey." Sokka said between huffs "I've got another - name for him. Combustion Man."

"Amazing." Said Toph sarcastly also huffing. "Now could shut up and run before Combustion Man catches us."

"See? It fits amazingly well."

"Hey Katara." Toph called with a blush a few minutes later when they were finally safe. "Yo… Your offer is still up?" When she asked that she took from her pocket a sheet of paper a closed ink pot and a pencil making Katara smile.

"Of course it is." She grabbed the things and started to write the things that Toph would say. While doing that Aang passed through them and stopped to watch her girlfriend write who, when she felt the pair of grey eyes on her, looked at them to see also the man she loved with a proud smile. She chuckled and showed her tongue to him who did the same thing to her, they both chuckled and Aang walked away just to come back later with Hawky in his hands. When Katara finished her letter, read it to Toph and, when she approved, Aang grabbed the paper and put it in the letter slot in Hawky's leg. Toph went quickly to her things and grabbed a small ring so that Hawky could follow the scent. So with a "Hawky, Lao and Potty Beifong, Gaoling!" They threw the bird to the air which started to fly in direction to the horizon. "Hey guy's. Where's Hawky?" A masculine voice was heard making the three friends look at each other trying to figure out the perfect excuse.

(A.N: Fi… na… ly. (I feel that I'm saying this too many times) This one is finally over. I really liked to write it but damn, was a pain in the ass. So here it is the "The Runaway" that we all know and love, now it's "Calm before the Shitstorm" but it's the same. And I know that I skipped the"The Beach" and the "The Avatar and the Firelord" episodes but it would be practically all the same, "The Beach" is a Zuko and co episode and it wouldn't make sense to write it down in Katara's diary and the "The Avatar and the Firelord" Is a thing that passes in Aang's head so it would make no sense either. This decision cost me a little but Toph also knows about the Sol guy, I don't know if you're gonna like it or not but… it's done. Now there's a thing that I have to admit, I LOVED (And I know it's super cocky(Guess what, I don't care)) the next episode idea I had, so I'm gonna LOVE to write it down so stay tuned for the "Full Moon" chapter. And that's that, I thank you with the heart for the wonderful reviews, follows and favourites (GIVE ME MORE!) and I hoped you liked this one so… LONG LIVE THE KATAANGERS!)
