The makings of a champion
Dutchwriter asked for a oneshot of Snowing teaching Emma how to ride a horse.
"Ok, now just hold on like mommy taught you." Snow said, making sure Emma was balanced properly on the pony. They had been preparing her for this ever since she was a baby. Emma was by no means scared of horses, but not being scared of them and sitting on by herself for the first time were two very different things. This was Emma's foal. He was a couple of years old and had been picked by Emma herself. She had named her Daisy. Now they were both ready to begin to work together. Daisy was ready to be ridden, and Emma was ready to start riding. They were a perfect match.
"That's it, clever girl." Charming praised her, his hand a centimetre or so away from her back in case Emma was caught off-guard by Daisy moving. Emma smiled proudly as her parents got Daisy to start walking. She wobbled slightly, but otherwise was fine.
"We're just going to take things slowly." Snow told the little girl. "We're just going to see if you can stay like this while Daisy walks round the paddock. Ok?"
"Ok mommy." Emma said, focusing on holding the reins just like she had been shown. Charming and Snow smiled at each other. Their baby girl was so adorable.
Slowly, the parents watched over Emma as they guided her and Daisy around the round paddock. Both did very well for their first ride.
"Good job princess." Charming praised Emma as he lifted her off of Daisy and deposited her back on the ground. Neither missed her proud little smile.
"I did well?" She asked. Snow and Charming both bent down so they were eye level with her.
"You did excellent, sweetheart." Charming praised her, kissing her forehead. "We'll make a champion rider out of you yet." He promised her. Emma's eyes grew wide with possibility. The rest of the day, she played with her little wooden horse that Geppetto had carved for her, pretending it was Daisy and she and her were winning lots of races together. She was going to work really hard at learning how to ride properly. She was going to make her mommy and daddy proud.
