"Reep," said Lucy.
"What is it?" His voice was high and squeaky, but perfectly clear.
"What did you say again?" She hugged him closer and closed her eyes.
"I think your mother's coming. You should be asleep, your majesty."
"I - what?" Lucy's eyes opened again.
"You should be asleep."
"Didn't you call me... majesty?" Her voice was sleepier than before, despite her interest.
"Why not?"
"I'm," a yawn, "not."
"That's what you think. Didn't you know there are other worlds?"
"You... told me... yesterday..."
"Exactly. Doesn't it make sense that you could be royalty in another world... your majesty?"
Once again Lucy yawned widely. "M-maybe..." Her eyes drifted shut.
Reepicheep's voice was quieter now. "But only by the permission of the Emperor-over-the-sea, of course."
"Who's that?"
"The father of the great Lion."
"Which is this lion?" She sighed, mostly asleep.
"You'll find out." Reepicheep curled up against her. "Just remember there are other worlds."
"A-all right." And she was asleep.
Don't go equating Ron and Wormtail with Lu and Reep; yes, he's a sentient creature sleeping in her bed, but he's also a Mouse; not a man masquerading as a mouse. So it's not creepy at all. Just in case you were wondering. :)
I meant to make this longer, but something about Lu falling asleep just seemed right, so we'll go with that.
