Forgotten responsibilities
JRocks asked for a oneshot of Emma and Henry going on a trip to the west coast, but when they arrive, they both realise they had important work to do at home.
To answer your question, unfortunately, I don't always know the chapter numbers that correlate with specific chapters.
"How could you forget you had a midterm two days after we get back?!"
"How could you forget that you had three different safety reports due?" Henry quipped back. Emma sighed, bringing her head down to rest against the wheel of the car they'd hired. It didn't have the same spark as her bug, but it would do the job for the week. Henry had been nagging Emma to take him to California since he was twelve. Emma had been saving up for years and finally had enough to give him a good week. Well, it should have been a good week. It was now somewhat tainted by their dodgy memories.
"Listen kid, we've both messed up, there's no denying it." Emma said, drumming her fingers against the wheel. She turned round and faced an obviously moody Henry. "But we've been planning this trip for such a long time. There's no point in letting it spoil things. What do you say? We enjoy our holiday, we've certainly earned it, then worry about everything else when we get back. Deal?" Henry shrugged. "Come on kid, work with me here." Emma asked. She wasn't putting up with a moody teenager for a whole week. "You'll be able to get your friends to send you some revision notes." She reminded him. Henry gave what under the right lighting might be considered a smile.
"Yeah, I suppose." He somewhat agreed. "Where to first?" Emma grinned, putting the car in gear.
"That's the spirit, kid." She praised him, setting off. Sure, they had responsibilities to deal with when they went back to Storybrooke, but weren't holidays for forgetting all that?
