Forgotten responsibilities- part 2
Karen Hardy asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2790 "Forgotten responsibilities" where they get back and Snowing scold them, but Snow has study notes for Henry to study from and Charming has done Emma's reports for her.
neongenesisevang: whilst I understand that, there are times when I get over and beyond 10 requests a day. It is for that reason I have the gap rule. It would get too confusing if chopped and changed when it was in place.
Austenphile: Again, whilst I understand your point of view, I see why people request such chapters. Everyone goes through shitty periods of time. Not everyone is good at finding an appropriate outlet, or a way to make them feel better. Sometimes, all we want is someone to tell us everything is going to be ok, to make us feel secure. If reading that happen for someone else who, we imagine, had some trouble feeling secure makes people feel better, then I'm ok with that.
Emma and Henry did enjoy their holiday, but neither could quite get away from the dark looming cloud hanging over them that was the work they'd have to do when they got back. Henry had managed to get a few pictures of some of his friends' study notes, but not nearly as much as he had wanted. He was going to have to do some severe cramming. The cloud loomed over them all the way through the flight home, then as they drove from the airport back into Storybrooke. It felt like it was weighing right down on their shoulders as Emma turned the key in the lock and came inside.
"Hey." She called. "We're home." Emma expected her parents to be at their place. They were house sitting while Emma and Henry were away, going back to their place during the day to tend to the animals and plants. They didn't mind, Emma's house was slightly bigger, even if they had more land. Neal liked being able to read his nephew's comics at night.
"Hey guys." Charming said, coming and helping them in with their cases. "Good trip."
"Yeah." Henry sighed. "It was." He didn't admit that it wasn't so good now. His grandma would flip if she knew he hadn't been studying. She was good friends with his English teacher in the high school.
"Ah, it's nice to get away from it all for a bit, isn't it?" Charming commented.
"Yeah, sure is." Emma said. "Thanks for looking after the place guys. I don't mean to rush you out, but the different time zones and the long haul flight has really given us jetlag. Henry and I could be doing with a super early night."
"Ah, I'll bet. Say, this wouldn't be to do with the reports you have to have to Regina by tomorrow now would it?" Charming asked, voice light. Emma's eyes grew wide. "Come on now Emma, you must remember. The ones you said you'd have done way before you left?" He added. Emma fell speechless.
"No Charming, that can't be it. Maybe it's to do with the study notes Henry's been pestering his friends for, since he forgot he had a midterm." Snow added, leaving Henry to give a similar expression to his mother. "That's right, I bumped into Tyler's mom at the store." Snow explained. Emma and Henry looked between each other, not sure what to say.
"So it's just as well I got those reports done for you Em. You owe me one." Charming said. Emma felt a wave of relief wash over her.
"I'll do your reports for the next month." She promised him. "You rock dad!" Henry still felt pretty glum. He couldn't exactly get out of doing his midterm. Snow fished something out of her bag.
"I spoke to Mrs Tucker. She very kindly gave me some spare notes. You might want to pay extra attention to the pages she's accidentally splashed some ink." Snow said cryptically. Henry grinned, taking the notes.
"Thanks, I'll be sure to." He promised her. Snow and Charming gave them ever so slightly disapproving smiles. The lengths parents (and grandparents) went to!
