Kensi sat cross-legged on the sidewalk, empty gun laying next to her, a couple flash-bang pins scattered at her feet. Sirens wailed, bomb squad teams and medics rushed about, lights flashed, but Kensi finds calm, and quiet, by staring at Deeks across the way.

This was her Deeks, all battle worn and tired, but still cocky, witty, annoying, and everything else. Sure, he's her Deeks any other time, but this is how he's best. All Blue Skies and Bombshells.

The way his wild, golden blond locks flying about his ears, even more unkempt than they normally are. How his left eye is bruised purple and swollen, and the dirt smudging his cheeks. The line of blood trickling from a split lip into his scruffy stubble. His eyes squinting against the sun, his lips drawn up in an exhausted smile.

How his firearm is held by one hand, the other tucked into his pocket. His Kevlar vest fitting tightly to his body, protecting him from potential injuries. His gun belt sits uneven on his waist, pulled to the right by his empty pistol holster. The sidearm is missing, probably lost during the fight. The black cotton of his v-neck sleeves poke out beneath the shoulder pads of the vest, and out the bottom, covering the top of his jeans.

Deeks turns to speak to Callen, and Kensi notices one of his back pockets has torn halfway out, revealing a peek of red and blue plaid boxers. Kensi laughs and rolls her eyes, before glancing down at his boots. Nearly the same as hers, bigger, of course, but just as worn and scuffed. The backs look pretty okay, except for the grey spots on the heels, on account of the way he uses one to take off the other after a long day at work. She smirks as the feet turn around, and she's glancing at the toes now. There's a chunk of the rubber sole missing from the right toe, and he's missing half a lace on the left.

Kensi smiles and unfolds herself, pushing herself to her feet with the heels of her hands. She trots over to him, and grabs his hand in hers, his baby blue eyes meeting her mismatched browns. He smiles and kisses her muddied cheek, then makes a face as he kisses dirt. Kensi can't help but offer an eye roll and a laugh, before putting her hands on either side of his face, kissing him full on the mouth. He returns it eagerly, before pulling away and spitting dirt out again with a disgusted face. Kensi smiles again. Yep, this is her Deeks alright.
