AN: And another chapter!
Somehow, despite how Herculean a task he once thought it should be, his life almost became routine. In the three weeks since his less than stellar match against Cecilia Alcott he had somehow dropped into a routine. Such a thing should have been borderline impossible but somehow his day to day life had become something close to stable. It wouldn't be normal but his life had almost become stable.
Wake up and get ready. The mirror was still gone so he still had to help Houki with her hair. She helped him with his hair.
He didn't know why but she didn't let him do it on his own or just get a new mirror for the bathroom. Her shinai was very convincing in letting him let her do what she wanted. Her smile after he had inevitably agreed helped seal the deal even if she had gotten angry when he pointed out how she should smile more.
Being chased by her around the room with said shinai was enough for him to bring it up less.
Next he would head to class. Well, try to get to class with what seemed like half the students either a) following him or b) trying to talk to him. Of those who tried to talk with him, half seemed to be sick with how red their faces ended up. It got even worse when he tried to get a read on their temperature. It was like everyone in the school had a fever.
A girl even fainted once when he checked her and he had to rush her to the nurse. Houki must have thought he may have caught whatever bug was going around since she kept pretty close to him after that.
She must had been worried he would pass out too.
After class let out, he would head to lunch and that's where he sat now.
"My, my Ichika, I never would have thought to look for something like this. I just have to thank you for bringing this to my attention so soon."
Today he was taking lunch with Tatenashi in a more private setting. After reading through the daily mountain of messages he received he had found something interesting enough to share. He felt she deserved to know.
She set her fan down on the table between them and laughter shined in her eyes as she smiled.
"I would never have thought so many fellow students at our lovely little academy think that you should replace me." She leaned over the table to get another glance at the list he had gotten together and her smile widened. He could swear the room was getting colder, that had to be the reason for the shiver to run down his spin. "It looks like even some of the faculty think I'm unfit for my position with you around. Such a shame to have so little faith placed in my leadership. After all the sacrifices I've made for this school, my peers believe you should replace me."
The blue haired girl laughed as she let her back fall against her seat again. She couldn't seem to help herself as she simply continued laughing, soon dissolving into giggles.
Ichika couldn't help but think he had made a mistake in telling Tatenashi anything. He glanced to the list and then back to the still giggling Student Council President. It didn't look like her giggling fit was going to end anytime soon.
"This is just terrific." She finally stopped long enough to speak. "I needed a good laugh today so thank you for that Ichika."
"I just wanted to let you know." He leaned back in his seat and sighed. "You didn't have to laugh for so long you know."
"You have to admit it's hilarious." Tatenashi snapped open her fan and it simply displayed 'HA!' on the revealed surface. He didn't know when she picked it back up but she had. "There's no chance you could ever beat me. You're cute but not cute enough for me to throw a fight and give up my presidency."
"I would never want that." Ichika ignored the sudden burn of irritation at being so easily dismissed by the Student Council President. "I wouldn't accept some charity win from you anyway."
"Oh?" Tatenashi snapped her fan close. She leaned forward and a dangerous glint came to her eyes. "Correct me if I'm wrong cutie but was that just then a challenge?"
"Not at all!" Ichika held up his hands. One pulled back to rub at his head. He felt like he was developing some kind of migraine. "I'm just saying I wouldn't want you to go easy on me if we ever did have to fight."
"Oh my." Tatenashi's fan opened with a noise akin to thunder. 'Is this our first lover's spat?'. Ichika could only stare at the message as the Student Council President lowered her fan, let him fully see her smiling face. She rose a single blue eyebrow. "Well Ichika, I'm waiting. Is it?"
"I-I..." His eyes flickered to the door.
'Can I make it to the door?'
Tatenashi saw through his plan all too easily. She brought herself up on the table between them before he could move. His back hit his chair when she pushed him back into his seat with her nearly always present fan in the middle of his near desperate attempt to leave in a hurry. He nearly toppled backwards to the ground if she didn't grab onto either armrest to anchor his chair in place. She also succeeded in keeping him pinned there by his wrists and her rather remarkably strong grip on them.
"It's rude to keep a girl waiting you know. You should always answer her questions and definitely be honest when doing so." She moved closer. Her other leg was up on the table now. "Don't you know how to be a gentleman Ichika?"
Ichika's face was turning red. He wanted to back away but he couldn't exactly move his arms. She was keeping him in place with her hold on either of his wrists. Tatenashi moved her legs beneath her and sat down in front of him. She pushed herself forward to keep him down.
It just so happened that it pushed her chest forward, a bit off from eye level with Ichika.
His face was burning a delightful red that was fighting to match the color of both of their eyes.
"I've never noticed before but..." Tatenashi's face was growing closer and closer. "Your eyes are really something else Ichika. Do you prefer pretty or handsome?"
Ichika's struggles to pull away from his seat and, by consequence, Tatenashi's hold went utterly unrewarded. The student council president had a surprising amount of strength. She was also getting closer and closer to him with every second that passed.
"T-Tatenashi maybe we can talk another time?" Ichika turned his head away, tried not to look at Tatenashi as she came closer and closer.
"I just can't help myself it seems. You're like magnetic." She moved closer, he could feel her light exhale on his cheek. "Do you know something Ichika? You would make such a good boyfriend."
He tried to pull away again, doubled his efforts, and nothing came of them. Her figure didn't do her any justice, didn't show how strong she really was, she was leagues above him in strength.
"I can already see it." She brought her lips up to his ear.
"I can hardly stop myself from just snatching you up right now."
She dropped into his lap.
He lost it.
"Ichika?" Houki turned away from her lunch at the sound of a scream. It sounded too much like a man's, like Ichika's, for her to ignore it.
A hand slammed down on the table drew her attention back to its source.
"Don't ignore me!" Lingyin Huang, the IS Representative of China, refused to be ignored.
"I'm not ignoring you!" Houki rose out of her chair, sick of the girl towering over her while she remained seated. "Why are you making such a big deal out of me rooming with Orimura? He needs someone to help him adjust to his IS and Chifuyu-sensei picked me. The faculty is fine with it because Chifuyu-sensei agreed to it. Even Tabane is fine with it and she's the Student Council President."
"Because he should be rooming with me! Have you seen his IS? I can help him out way more than you can with control! Shenlong is specialized for CQC and I can actually teach him how to fight with it unlike you!" Lingyin refused to budge on what had sparked their confrontation. The moment she had learned Ichika roomed with her, she had been set on a warpath.
It had finally culminated into this after building up for a little less than a week.
"I'm not going to sit here and listen to you complain about this again." Houki had decided. She would handle Lingyin first and then go and find out if Ichika was alright. If he was really in trouble than Blade Wolf would have stepped in already and contacted her.
She had enough sway over him because of Her to get that much out of him. Chifuyu couldn't command him not to inform her if she even knew She had sent him to the school.
"Name the time." One of Lingyin's wrist sparked with pink rings, her IS close to activating it seemed.
"After lunch." Houki rose from her seat. "There's something I have to handle first."
Actually, she decided she needed to go and see Wolf now.
She left the cafeteria.
"Don't think you can run from me!" Lingyin seemed to disagree with her leaving. She headed off after her with fury in her eyes and a challenge on her tongue.
'GET OFF! GET OFF! GET OFF!' Ichika could only scream in his head as Tatenashi settled in his lap.
The Student Council President only internally laughed at his expression as she made herself comfortable in her new seat.
"Oh don't be so nervous Ichika-kun." Tatenashi wrapped her arms around him, smiled down at him as she lifted herself up in his lap. His red eyes flickered between her face and her chest and her smile widened. "Oh you naughty boy. Do you like what you see? Or do you just want to see even more?"
The way he turned even redder after she spoke made her laugh. He was just too much fun to tease.
"Go ahead Ichika-kun." Tatenashi leaned forward. "You can touch them if you want to. I've always wanted a second opinion." She gave a pointed look to his trapped hands. "Oh my." A shocked expression was painted across her face before her smile returned wider than before. "I guess you'll have to use something else. But what could it be?"
Her red eyes gleamed with delight as she turned Ichika into a flustered mess.
It was almost too easy to get him all worked up. She should have done this days ago, she never knew she could have this much fun with the boy trapped in the seat beneath her.
Perhaps she should make this a part of her daily routine even.
It was perfect after a long hard day as Student Council President to come and tease Orimura until he was blushing mess.
It was just so wonderfully invigorating, exciting for her to push his buttons like this, to get him so flustered.
"Come on Ichika." She leaned closer, barely a hair's breadth away from him now. "Are you just going to sit here with a pretty girl like me in your lap?" She wiggled in her burning up seat, his face somehow grew redder. "I'm saying you can do whatever you want right now."
His face was utterly crimson.
He was trying to look anywhere but at her, turn his red eyes elsewhere, to no avail.
The door opened.
"Tatenashi-nee, I need to talk…to…you…" Her sister stood in the doorway, Tatenashi turning her focus away from Ichika and to her, sitting upright in her new seat. Ichika, somehow, blushed harder at being caught by her sister in such a compromising position. "Is-Is this a bad time?"
"Nonsense. Don't be so shy Kanzashi. Come on in." Tatenashi smiled as she wiggled in her seat, Ichika's attempts at a defense only coming out as a sputtering mess. "What do you need my help with?"
Her sister blinked, took a moment to adjust her glasses, and did well to hide the light blush on her face.
"The lab just called me and said there's an issue with my IS. They sent me a copy of the data and I was hoping you could look over it to see if I missed anything. As far as I can tell, there should be no issues." Kanzashi was rather good at dealing with her sister's antics, focusing only on her instead of the blushing Ichika she was sitting on.
"Oh I'm always free to help you Kanzashi. Come over here and let me see." Her smile never wavered as she waved her little sister forward, Kanzashi's blush deepening.
She still had her limits when it came to her sister. Actually talking to her like this was well past them.
"M-Maybe I could come back later." She was already stepping back. "How about after class?"
She left before she could get an answer, Tatenashi only able to giggle at her little sister's antics.
"I guess we'll have to have some more fun later Ichika-kun." She sat up, ran her hands through his white hair. "I'll come by your room once I'm done helping her." She bounded out of the room with a skip in her step and a swing in her hips. "See you later!" She gave one last wave and smile before Ichika could even bother to get a word in, could overcome the utter embarrassment of the last few minutes.
He could only let his head fall onto the table in front of him at the end.
"What is even going on in my life anymore?"
He just didn't know anymore.
AN: And now I must slumber once more to regain my strength. I shall awaken with another update in...a decade? Maybe half of that?
Peace.
