For their own good
Brittany asked for a oneshot of…read and see. *season 6 spoilers!*
No. No, that evil woman was not going to tear apart their family ever again. Snow and Charming simply wouldn't allow it. They would stomp her out before she had a chance to mess with them again. A notion that the Evil Queen found hilarious.
"How many times have we been here before, Charmings?" She sneered. "You have never defeated me before. What makes you think this time will be any different?"
"This time we know there is no good in you to save. Regina has been separated from you. You've never defeated us before either." Snow reminded her, she wouldn't let the Evil Queen get into their heads.
"I would call a curse that meant your precious daughter grew up all alone a victory." She said coolly with a small smirk. Snow snarled, she went to load her bow, but Charming placed a calming hand on her shoulder. They still couldn't let her get under their skin. "Oh, did that touch a nerve?" Snow and Charming didn't respond. The Queen's smirk didn't fade.
"Well, if you're both going to be boring, there's no real point in drawing this out now is there?" With a flick of her wrist, Regina sent a barrel from the dock behind them both tumbling down. Before either Snow or Charming could do anything about it, the barrel crashed into their heads, knocking them unconscious. They fell to the wet wooden planks beneath them, their weapons falling from their grasp.
Now knowing her opponents were defenceless, the Evil Queen walked slowly up to them both and leered over them. She picked up Charming's sword. How poetic for them both to die with his own weapon?
"Goodbye, Charmings. I've finally won." She said triumphantly, but just as she was about to plunge the blade into Charming's chest (she was saving Snow for last), the blade vanished from her hand in a puff of smoke. She looked down in fury. She then turned behind her to see Emma. The Evil Queen rolled her eyes.
"So you're a whole family of nuisances." She snapped.
"It's over, now walk away before I end you." Emma snarled. The Evil Queen's smirk returned.
"Now now, Saviour. We both know you won't kill me unless you absolutely have to. It's not really in the Saviour code, or the Charming genes. Don't lie to yourself." The Evil Queen pointed out, but she also knew she wouldn't be able to hurt Snow or Charming with Emma here. She didn't yet know that the Saviour's powers were faulty. "You can't protect them forever, Saviour. One day, when your back's turned. I'll be there." Then with that, she disappeared herself in a cloud of purple smoke. Emma walked over to her parents and crouched beside them. She could tell they'd be ok. She quickly transported them all back to the loft apartment, where Henry was waiting as he babysat Neal. He panicked when he saw his grandparents unconscious.
"Are they ok?" He asked, putting Neal down in his crib and assessing them himself. Emma nodded, as she concentrated on making her spells work. "What are you doing?" Henry asked her. He had a bad feeling about this. Emma waited until she was finished to answer. She didn't want to risk the shaking beginning again.
"It's a protective spell on the house." Emma explained. "One that means the Evil Queen can't get in…it also means mom, dad and Neal can't get out." Henry looked at her in shock.
"Mom, they're not going to thank you for that." Henry said, trying to be as diplomatic as possible. "They'll get anxious. It means they won't be able to see their friends until the Evil Queen is defeated. It means if something happens to you they'll not be able to help. Or what if one of them gets sick?" Henry pointed out. His mom clearly wasn't seeing sense right now. Emma sighed. She bent down and kissed each of their foreheads before doing the same to Henry. It has been a stressful morning.
"I know they'll be mad at me when they wake up, but I can take that. What I couldn't take would be losing any of them. This is for the best just now. Other people can still get in, it's just the Evil Queen that's blocked from entering. If one of them gets sick it's easy enough to have Doc come help." Emma assured him. She sighed when Henry continued to look at her warily. "I promise I'll talk to them when she wake up." She promised him. She looked down at her sleeping parents, continuing to worry. Henry, on the other hand, continued to look at Emma. He wasn't so worried about his unconscious grandparents right now. No, it was his mother's head he was worried about.
