It was early morning and most everyone was still asleep. The only ones who were awake were currently running laps around UA academy…well one of them was. The other was just trying to keep up. Izuku looked back at his new training partner to find her red-faced and out of breath as she made her way over to him.
"J-Jirou-san…?"
"Drop it, I-Izuku," growled out Kyouka, giving the boy a glare. "N-No matter h-how many times y-you bring it up, I'm n-not changing m-my m-mind on this!"
"…I was just going to ask if you wanted to take a break," replied Izuku in a small voice, glancing away from the girl.
Now Kyouka felt guilty for snapping at him. "…Sorry. A break sounds good right now, actually."
The two teens made their way over to the bench (with Kyouka trying her damnedest to stay standing) where their water bottles were and sat down. With water in hand, Kyouka downed half of the bottle in her need of rehydration. It was only just yesterday when she found out Izuku's secret and had declared her intentions of joining him in the fight against All For One. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but she was surprised by just how much Izuku did. Hell, she lost count after forty laps and Izuku looked like he could keep going.
"You know, it'll get easier over time the more you train," said Izuku, trying to make Kyouka feel better.
This earned him a pouty glare from the girl. "Easy for you to say. You've been doing this longer than I have!"
"Exactly! I'm used to this kind of training!" replied the fluffy-haired boy. "If it makes you feel better, at least you don't have to do some of the training I had to do when I first started out."
"What kind of training did you have to do?" asked Kyouka before taking a drink.
"All Might had me clean the entirety of Dagobah Beach by myself."
Hearing this caused Kyouka to do a spit take, coughing up the water she had in her mouth. She then turned to Izuku with wide eyes. "Wait, you're the one who cleaned that scrapheap?! By yourself?!"
With a blush, Izuku nodded. "Y-Yes."
The purple-haired girl gave off a low whistle. She had heard that Dagobah Beach was cleared out of all that junk, but to think that Izuku was the one to be the one who did it was unexpected…well not really when she thought about.
"You are just full of surprises, Izuku," replied Kyouka with a smirk, causing the boy to blush even more.
"I d-don't know about that," replied Izuku, rubbing his arm in nervousness. "A-Anyway, we should probably be heading back so we can get ready for class."
With a nod, the rocker girl stood and followed Izuku back to the dorms. When they entered they were about to head to the showers when a voice coming from the kitchen called out to them.
"Deku-kun?"
The shy couple turned to find Ochaco, Iida, Momo, and Kirishima looking at them.
"H-hey, Uraraka," responded Izuku, giving her a nervous smile.
"Hey," added Kyouka, giving a small wave.
"Kyouka? You're usually not up this early," stated Momo, confused to see her best friend up and about.
The purple-haired girl gave off a shrug. "I was out training with Midoriya. I figured I needed to better myself in certain areas and Midoriya was the perfect person to ask for help."
If it weren't for the fact that, that was partially true, Izuku would think Kyouka was an expert liar. At least One For All will remain a secret.
"I find it admirable that you wish to become stronger, Jirou-san! And Midoriya, willing to take the time to help your fellow student!" exclaimed Iida, a proud smile on his face.
"Yeah, no kidding," added Kirishima with a sharp-toothed grin. "Hey! Any chance some of us can join you tomorrow morning? Extra training can always go a long way!"
Kyouka had to hide the frown that wanted to appear. With it being just her and Izuku, they could talk freely about why they were training together in the first place. If anyone else were to join them, they wouldn't be able to talk at all. She was about to refuse them, but Izuku beat her to the punch.
"S-Sorry, Kirishima, but I was hoping to use that time to focus on helping Jirou-san with her training," said Izuku. "You understand, right?"
"Sure, no problem, Midori-bro!" replied Kirishima, clearly no hard feelings towards the two.
"Indeed!" added Iida, moving his arms in a robotic manner. "It would be quite rude of us to split your focus."
"Thanks, you guys," said Izuku with a smile. "Anyway, I better head to the showers before I get breakfast. See you in a bit!"
"Same here," added Kyouka as she followed after Izuku.
With the two gone, the others went back to making breakfast, except for Ochaco who kept her eyes on the retreating forms of Izuku and Kyouka.
-:-
It had been a long day of classes for the students of Class 1-A. With surprise pop quizzes in both Ectoplasm and Present Mic's classes and a really rough training session with Aizawa, they were just glad it was over for the day. Kyouka was especially glad as that meant she could finally relax.
"Then again, Izuku might have another training session planned," said Kyouka to herself as she pulled out her phone to send a text. She was glad that she had exchanged numbers with the cinnamon roll. It would make communicating with him a lot easier.
Kyo: Hey. So are we up for training later?
Izu: Did you want to? I would have thought after this morning and our classes you'd want to relax?
Kyouka smiled at his concern and a little relieved that there wasn't going to be any training. Don't get her wrong, she wasn't planning on slacking off, but as Izuku said this morning once she got used to it the training would become easier. She didn't want to overdo it out the starting gate.
Kyo: If we're not going to do any training, do you want to just hang out then?
Izu: …Eh?!
The rocker girl rolled her eyes in amusement. This boy was willing to help with her training, yet got shy at the thought of just hanging out?
Kyo: Don't be like that, Izuku. You know you enjoy my company.
Izu: No offense, Jirou-san, but it's only been less than a day since…you know.
Kyo: All the more reason to hang out with each other. If we're going to be hero partners, we need to get to know each other better.
Izu: That does make sense.
Kyo: Good. I'll be by your room in a few.
Izu: …Wait, what?
Kyouka shut off her phone with a smirk as she left her room. She knew Izuku was probably blushing up a storm right now, all because a girl was going to be in his room. The thought made her giggle. If there was one thing she learned about Izuku right away it was that he actually saw her as a girl…unlike most of the other boys in class. With as insecure as she was about herself, she was actually grateful for Izuku's shyness around females.
She soon made it to Izuku's room without incident and knocked on the door.
"J-Just a minute!"
It didn't take long for the door to open and just as Kyouka predicted Izuku was bright red. The boy then stood to the side to let her in. When she entered the room the first thing she noticed was the box filled with All Might merch on his desk.
"Why are you packing up your stuff, Izuku?" asked Kyouka as she walked over to the box.
"Ano, w-well, it's j-just…"
She watched as he fidgeted nervously, almost as if he was embarrassed…and that's when it hit her. She remembered when everyone showed off their rooms when they first moved into the dorms. That was not a good moment for either of them.
She grabbed some of the All Might merch and started to put them back into place.
"You shouldn't have to hide what makes you happy, Izuku," stated the rocker girl.
"B-But…"
"Let me put it this way. If you came to my room and saw me putting away all of my music and instruments, what would you say?" asked Kyouka, turning to the boy.
"Th-This isn't the same…"
"Isn't it? You're a fan of All Might, just like I'm a fan of music. Analyzing heroes and Quirks is your hobby, just like writing songs and playing instruments is my hobby. We both enjoy our respective hobbies, so why should we hide them from each other?" explained the girl as she gave Izuku a look that said "try countering that".
"Y-You don't find this weird?" questioned Izuku, glancing towards the box.
"It'd be weird if you had an All Might shrine complete with hair clippings and blood samples hidden somewhere, but since you don't seem to be the type to do something like that, then no I don't find your collection weird."
Izuku felt as if a weight was lifted off of his shoulders. He was afraid of what Kyouka would say if she saw his collection. Ever since the "best room contest" he was afraid to let anyone into his room in fear of being ridiculed. Not even Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki, his closest friends here at UA were allowed into his room because of this. Yet here was Kyouka, standing in his room, not thinking any less of him over his hobby.
He went over to help put his stuff back in their proper places.
"Thank you, Jirou-san."
"You can thank me by calling me Kyouka from now on, Izuku," replied the girl, giving him a smirk as he blushed.
"O-Okay…K-Kyouka."
-:-
"So wait, you're telling me that the only ones from our class that your mom has met were Jamming Yay and the grapist?"
"Y-Yes?"
After putting Izuku's hero merch back on the shelves, the two teens kicked back, relaxed, and just talked. Subjects included their interests, their futures, and their families. When Kyouka had heard that Izuku's mom had only met Kaminari and Mineta, it left a very bad taste in the shy rocker's mouth.
"How the hell did that happen?!"
"W-Well, it was that day we were all at the school pool for training. They came by to invite me," explained the green-haired boy. "I then called up the others to see if they wanted to train as well."
Kyouka looked at the smiling cinnamon roll with a blank look. She remembered that day. That was the day that the girls of 1-A were having a little get together at the pool and if the two perverts and Izuku were going to be there as well, that meant the two perverts were planning to ogle them with Izuku as their alibi to get into the pool area. She was so glad that Izuku was innocent enough to call the other boys to invite them to the "training session". Just another reason she needed to protect him.
This did leave another problem though.
"Izuku, next time you decide to visit your mom, I'm coming with you."
This caused the boy to blush brightly. "Eh?! Wh-Why?!"
"Because the only people she's met are the perverts," explained Kyouka with a frown. "Don't you think she deserves to know that you have other friends? I'm surprised that you haven't even introduced her to Iida, Uraraka, or even Todoroki yet considering you hang out with them more than anyone else in class."
"I-It just never came up, I guess," replied Izuku with a shrug. "I mean, Iida and Todoroki were always busy with their own things and Uraraka…well…she…"
Kyouka frowned once more as she watched the boy blush. So the idea of bringing a girl to his home makes him nervous. Too bad for him that she won't take no for an answer.
It was then that there was a knock on the door. Standing up, Izuku walked over and opened it, revealing a smiling Ochaco.
"Hey, Deku-kun!"
"Oh, h-hi, Uraraka. What brings you here?"
"Some of us were planning on watching a movie down in the commons room and I was wondering if you wanted to join us!" said Ochaco with a giggle.
"Which movie are you going to be watching?" asked Kyouka getting Ochaco's attention.
Upon seeing the purple-haired girl, the brunette had a blank look on her face as she tried to process the fact that Kyouka was in Deku-kun's room. Why was Kyouka in Deku-kun's room? Deku-kun never let anyone into his room!
"Ano, Uraraka?"
The sound of Deku-kun's voice snapped her back into reality. "Ah! Y-Yes, Deku-kun?"
"What movie are we going to watch?" asked Izuku, repeating Kyouka's question.
"Huh? Oh! It's currently a toss up between an action movie, a comedy movie, and a horror movie!"
At the mention of horror, Kyouka shuddered. She hated horror movies. They needed to get down there and make sure that wasn't what gets picked.
"Come on, Izuku. We need to prevent them from picking the worst choice," stated Kyouka as she grabbed Izuku by the wrist and dragged him out of the room.
"Wh-What do you mean?" asked Izuku, letting himself get dragged by the petite rocker.
"There is no damn way I'm watching a horror movie," replied Kyouka with another shudder.
As the shy couple walked down the hall, they forgot all about Ochaco, who was staring at them with a blank look.
'When did Deku-kun and Kyouka get so close?' thought the anti-gravity girl before another thought came. 'D-Did Kyouka actually call Deku-kun by his given name?!'
Not wanting to be left behind, Ochaco closed Izuku's door and quickly went after the two, still trying to figure out what was going on between the two.
-:-
Later that night, as Izuku slept, deep within the flames of One For All were two figures who were having a conversation.
"I don't like this, yo," said the muscular bald man with a growl.
The raven-haired woman with him merely rolled her eyes. "You know just as well as I do that Izuku-chan won't let anything happen to Kyouka-chan, Daigoro."
"I still don't like the idea that she wants to fight All For One, Shimura!" declared Daigoro, glaring into the darkness. "How could she be so stupid?!"
Nana let out a chuckle that caught Daigoro's attention. "Well, she is your great-great-granddaughter."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" demanded the Blackwhip user as he glared at the woman.
"She has the same thing that you have that made the Fourth Wielder choose you as their successor. The heart of a true hero," explained Nana with a smile. "Like grandfather, like granddaughter."
Daigoro let out a groan. "That doesn't mean I want her going up against All For One."
"She's a stubborn one. She'll be good for Izuku-chan."
The super funky hero could only grimace at that.
CHAPTER END
-:-
You all did ask for a continuation. Well, you're getting it.
It'll be awhile until Izuku and Kyouka are officially together, considering their partnership JUST started. Of course, much like in canon, Ochaco is already getting jealous because Izuku is hanging out with another girl.
Then we've got Nana and Daigoro. I'll probably have scenes with them at the end of each chapter, talking about what's going on in the World of the Living. As you can see though, Daigoro is already worried about his shy purple granddaughter, while Nana is supportive of her fluffy green grandson.
