That night, Brisa, Aeri, Runa, and Jassan slept in one row next to each other, all in the same en suite room they had the meeting earlier that day, all of them in their own travel sleeping bags, exhausted from the night's discussions.

The old house was anything but quiet; floors creaked, dripping of water could be heard from within the walls of the room, in-fighting of mana-starved wretched urchins brawling somewhere nearby Falconwing Square echoed in the distance outside the window. Brisa slept closest to the window, stroking Tama's large furry paws, her eyes gazing into the sleeping giant's face. Aeri and Runa were facing each other, holding hands, while Jassan laid on his back, arms behind his head, trying to count the water leaks on the ceiling.

All of them lost in their own thoughts, thinking about life, death, and the worlds that came after mortality. They knew they had to choose a path, select their covenant to peruse. They had all the facts, had everything they'd need to know to make their decisions; but it didn't make that decision any easier.

Tragique and Illanna had left them to their choices that evening and returned back to the Acherus by way of Death Gate. If they chose to accept the quest, they were to meet up with him and Illanna back in front of Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. The portals into the shadowlands were active and waiting for them to travel to Oribos. If they didn't arrive before noon on the morrow, Tragique's party would assume they had declined the offer and would proceed into the Shadowlands to continue their quest without them.

Quietly, almost to herself, Brisa said, "I'm going to Maldraxxus." She was still stroking Tama's paw, the room still silent for a minute until Aeri spoke up.

"Why is that, Bri?" she asked.

"Given the description, it seems like soldiers would thrive in that kind of environment. I think...I know it's a good fit for me," said Brisa, with an edge of resolve in her voice.

"You'll do great there, I just know it, said Runa, "though I am relieved to hear that too. I'm just glad I'm not going there. You know how I feel about...dead things." Runa's voice held an edge of disgust at the mention of the Maldraxxi.

"Well, I know where I'm going," Jassan said, a smugness in his voice.

"Oh? Where's that, love?" said Runa curiously and turned around to face him. Aeri perked her head up and propped up on an elbow.

"A land with angelic beauties flying into my arms, that's where," Jassan smiled widely, slowly lifting his arms up into the ceiling as if a beautiful Kyrian were to fly down greet him. "I'm going to Bastion."

"Ugh, no, Jassan," yelped Aeri, throwing her pillow in his face, ruining whatever fantasy he had budding in his mind. "I'm going to Bastion, not you," Aeri continued, "Didn't you hear what Illanna said? It's sunny, shining, warm, blue skies, fluffy grass, and... you get to ride flying lions. I can't miss my chance at all that fun if you go instead to chase a bunch of blue people, you creep."

Jassan stood up at once and threw the pillow back at Aeri, "That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard," he said crossly, "Did you not hear what they said about the Kyrian? All they wear are these sexy white togas. And ONLY togas. They got nothing else underneath! I'm not missing my chance to hook up with half-naked blue hotties because you want to fly around on a floating cat."

"Ugh, you're such a pig, J" Runa sneered as she sat up in her sleeping bag.

"Why are you such a freak, you freak," screamed Aeri in a high pitched voice.

"Why are you such a spaz, you spaz," Jassan snorted, then swiftly flung his pillow at Aeri. She smartly snatched the pillow right before it hit her face, then flung it back at him with, but this time with an arc of Holy-powered light. The pillow hit Jassan square in the chest with enough force to push him back a few feet, knocking the air out of him.

"No...fair," he wheezed, as he scrambled for the pillow she had thrown at him.

"Get him, Aeri," cheered Runa, scrambling back out of the crossfire and making her way to the love seat.

Aeri was clearly angry, grabbing the other pillow, along with Runa's pillow, ready for another throw. As Jassan recovered, he watched her more carefully. He knew how violent Aeri could get when she had her mind already set on something.

"I won't back down, Aeri, not this time" Jassan taunted, hefting the pillow up and down in one hand. "I'm the one going to Bastion, not you."

"I won't let you. You're just gross and your ideas are always dumb," growled Aeri. "Plus, I already have my own wings and you don't." With that, Aeri took a moment to summon her Holy Power in the form of Avenging Wrath. While her spell was active, her slight form glowed with golden holy light, and two majestic wings appeared on her back out of thin air as she hovered a few inches above the ground.

Brisa sucked in a quick breath, "Aeri, don't you dare you your holy power in here, you'll scare Tama." Tama in turn gave a low moan, annoyed by the sudden light in the room, placing her large paws over her void-tinged eyes.

"Only I am worthy of going to Bastion, Jassan," said Aeri, her usually bright voice now unnaturally zealous, echoing with power in the large room with a dangerous undertone. She slowly gripped her pillow and charged it with Holy power, the edges of the cotton tingling with pure divine light.

"The only thing worse than those stupid wings of yours are your stupid ideas. What a waste of an opportunity that would be to give up Bastion to you," Jassan spat, his white teeth shining in the light.

"You take that back, coward," growled Aeri dangerously, gripping the pillow tighter in one fist, her arm shaking with held-back rage.

"Never," said Jassan coolly, and with that, using all his strength, flung his own pillow at Aeri, aiming for her face. Any full-grown person would have had trouble catching the pillow, with a force that was strong enough to impale a 12-foot demon with a blade, of course, if he had been holding a blade instead of a pillow.

Unfortunately for Jassan, Aeri was still empowered by her holy magic and simply batted the pillow away with an off-hand slap, as if she were swatting off a slow, fluttering moth.

"Ooooooh, you got her mad now, love. Get'em, Aeri" called Runa from the back of the room, nibbling on a few leftover cold potatoes as she watched the spectacle.

"My turn, you dummy," said Aeri, her expression one of cold rage as she basked in her golden halo of light. The unrestrained holy-powered pillow flew from Aeri's hand with one mighty swing, the air in the room boomed as it made its way across the full stretch of the en suite with the power of a thousand suns. Jassan had barely enough wit to dodge the attack, watching it in slow motion as it grazed his bare chest, a light-tinged corner of the pillow slicing a clean shallow line across his torso.

The pillow then traveled past Jassan and through the far wall of the room, the plaster imploding with the impact. It had plowed clear into the adjoining room, with the entire house trembling with the force of the throw. House Nethari shuddered for a terrible moment as if it were a small earthquake, the sounds of glass and paintings falling in other places in the mansion. After a minute passed, everything had settled down. The only sounds left came from a few pieces of wood and plaster that fell off the huge hole in the wall and the sounds of Runa crunching of a few crispy bits of potato on her couch.

Aeri stopped glowing, her ethereal wings disappearing along with the holy light surrounding her. She breathed out slowly, eyes closed, focusing on controlling her anger. Jassan's body went stiff with a cold seat, his face gaunt and horrified, the clean-edged cut on his chest just starting to bleed, but he hadn't moved.

"I...could have just..died," he croaked, his eyes vacant, head craning over to see the gaping hole in the wall. "That could have...been...me..."

Aeri sighed, walked over to Jassan, and placed her small hand over the cut on his chest. Her palm glowed with holy light and his cut instantly healed.

"See, all better now," Aeri said in a sweet voice, then gave Jassan a small peck on his cheek. "I'm going to Bastion, not you, okay?" her voice bubbly again, all traces of wrath gone along with her wings.

"Oh...okay, whatever you say" whispered Jassan hoarsely. He looked like he's just seen a ghost.

Aeri skipped back to her sleeping bag, hands behind her back, a happy smile on her face.

Runa tip-toed back to her own bag as well, grinning back at Aeri. "Well done, love," Runa whispered as she clasped her sister's hands back in her own and laid back down together.

"I know right?" giggled Aeri.

Tama gave a low annoyed growl, happy that the commotion finally seemed over.

"Jassan, come back to bed, we've got a long day tomorrow. We need sleep," said Brisa, snuggling deeper in her sleeping bag.

Jassan mumbled something inaudible and laid down next to Runa in his own bag, his eyes still glassy and vacant.

"Do you know where you want to go, Runa?" asked Aeri in a cheery whisper.

"Actually, I already knew from the beginning where I wanted to go," said Runa in a dreamy voice, her eyes casting off far away. "Parties, gowns, servants bringing you all sorts of yummy things to eat," she said as she licked her deep red lips. "I think the Venthyr are going to love me. Why shouldn't they? If they look up to the best dressed at the party, I know they'll be in tears with envy when they see the outfits I have planned when I crash their parties."

"Oh, oh! You should wear your red fishtail dress, you know the one," said Aeri wide-eyed.

"Yes! And I have matching shoes and a parasol to go with that one too," Runa said, getting excited at the possibilities of noble gatherings and frivolous parties.

"Girls, enough. Get some sleep," said Brisa sternly, but not unkindly. She loved her sisters, but they could get carried away with the details sometimes. "Jassan, you get some sleep too. Looks like you're headed to Ardenweald since that's the only Covenant left, so you might as well get used to the idea."

The twins leaned their heads closer together, almost touching, and whispered their plotting in a barely audible whisper. Brisa grunted and threw her covers over her head, trying her best to get some sleep.

Jassan laid in a fetal position, shaking softy.

"Jassan, are you...crying?" Runa asked suddenly.

Jassan rambled nonsense in a barely audible whisper, trying to rock himself to sleep. "the wall is gone...Aeri is scary..." he croaked.

And with their choices made up, Brisa, Aeri, Runa, and Jassan (debatably) drifted off into a dreamless sleep, with their grand quest about to begin the very next day.
