A/N: Hey guys, this is my first time writing one of these. I feel like Metal Bat is a pretty underrated OPM character, so I was hoping to write something interesting revolving mainly around him. Something to keep in the back of your mind: this is part one of a two part series. After I finish with Bad, I will move on to the next character, someone else I find super underrated. This chapter is basically straight out of the manga, although I tried to add some more character to Bad by including some of his thoughts. This and the next chapter are mainly for context purposes, so do not worry. I have big plans for this. I hope you all enjoy. Now, let's begin.

Growing increasingly irritated, Bad sat at the long table along with all the other S-Class heroes - the top ranked heroes around - save Rank 6 Metal Knight and the elusive Rank 1 Blast. The Class S heroes had all been summoned through their communicators.

"C'mon!" he exclaimed as he leaned back. "Threat Levels Demon and Dragon are nothing to me! Where's Big Nose?!"

Everyone in the room glanced at the 17 year old, Rank 15 S-Class hero, also known as Metal Bat, with his pompadour hairstyle, red turtleneck sweater, and black bontan pants, except for one particular bald individual who didn't seem all that interested. Or important, for that matter.

Who's the egg? he thought, looking at the guy sideways.

Apparently, the man was Class B, meaning he was considerably below everyone else present. He had a yellow jumpsuit with a white cape on and red gloves. He looked kinda... like an idiot, to say the least. Was it because of that ridiculous expression? His eyes, man...

Out of everyone there, the bald was the only non S-Class hero. Probably some freeloader looking to steal some credit. Though Bad had to admit, he had an excellent poker face.

Best ignore him.

The Rank 3, S-Class hero Silver Fang spoke up. "...What brings us here?"

With light blue eyes, spiky white hair, and a hunch in his back, the old man had more wrinkles than a shirt left under a pile for a whole day. He was 81 years old, for crying out loud. Of course, Bad never expressed this audibly. Everyone respected the old coot for his excellent martial arts abilities. Silver Fang sported a black martial arts jumpsuit, light-colored pants, and Tai Chi slippers. Very fashionable.

"How should I know?! I've waited two hours without any explanation!" squeaked the Terrible Tornado.

God, how Bad found her annoying. Or maybe he just flat-out hated her. Honestly, what a self-entitled brat. Same size as Bad's 8 year old sister Zenko, 10 times more obnoxious, with long green hair that naturally curled at the ends and emerald eyes to boot. AND she was 10 years older than Bad, which was unbelievable. Her psychic powers were no joke, however, earning her the Rank 2 spot in Class S. She wore a form-fitting black dress, four high-cut legs slits to show off her prepubescent legs, and low-heeled black shoes.

Finally, Big Nose walked through the door.

"Hello," he started. "I'm from the association and I will be briefing you today."

All eyes turned to the man, who did in fact have a large nose.

"My name is Sitch. Let's get started."

Sitch started talking, and Bad immediately drowned him out, his brow wrinkled.

Just get to the point, man, he thought.

"Something, something, SAVE THE EARTH, something..." came from Big Nose.

Bad couldn't care less about the exposition. In fact, he was a little mad. He let out a soft growl and propped his legs up on the table.

"Is this really all that important?" he demanded. "I left my little sister's piano recital for this. If this isn't important, I'm trashing this place!"

Sitch glanced at Bad for a second, silently urging him to listen, and continued. With a quiet groan, Bad tried his hardest to pay attention. Despite his "best efforts", he couldn't really understand.

"The Great Seer... known as Madame Shibabawa... is dead." Sitch said, with great emphasis on the dead part.

The other heroes erupted in outrage, though Bad was confused.

"Um... who's Madame Shibabawa?" he heard a particular bald man ask.

Great question, guy, Bad pondered.

"What?!" piped Child Emperor.

This hero was a child, made obvious by his Hero Name. With his short brown hair, amber eyes, and light-blue polo shirt with dark cobalt shorts, you'd never think the little guy was Rank 5 of the S-Class, but apparently he was a genius, so no one questioned it. He was older than Zenko by only two years.

"This is dumb! I've got cram school, so can I go?"

Big Nose scolded the kid for acting like a child.

Oh, the irony, Bad thought and yawned.

"SOMETHING WORSE THAN A MAJOR EARTHQUAKE OR MONSTER OF THREAT LEVEL DEMON OR DRAGON IS GOING TO HAPPEN! AND WITHIN SIX MONTHS!! Sitch exclaimed as he whammed his hand on the table.

Threat Levels were the system implemented by the Hero Association to describe just how dangerous a certain threat was to humanity. Demon and Dragon were no joke (Bad wouldn't admit to this), but something worse than that could be...

Bad could hear the King Engine start up, which meant the tall Rank 7, long-haired blond with the intimidating claw scar on his left eye was getting pumped up.

"I understand that," Watchdog Man interjected.

Literally a man in a white dog suit, believe it or not. No one knew much about the furry. He was Rank 12 though, so he did have fighting prowess.

"But if we don't know the exact time... how can we prepare for it?"

"You are right!" Sitch agreed. "Nonetheless... prepare to fight sometime in the next six months!"

"But it could come tomorrow or even today," stated the Baldie.

All eyes turned to him, including Bad's.

"Hmph! You're right. Who are you again?" asked Sitch.

The Baldy grew a newfound serious face and smirked.

"... Good thing I came!-"

The building suddenly began to shake violently.

"What?!" exclaimed Rank 16 Demon Cyborg, 19 year old real-life robot boy with yellow hair and piercing yellow eyes with black scleras.

The building seemed to be under attack. The heroes began to stand up and get ready for combat, when Sitch let out a sudden scream in anguish as he watched a hologram of City A on the table.

The problem was, the city was gone.

"Who could have known the prophecy would come true NOW?! They destroyed City A in an instant!" he cried.

"HEY!" yelled Silver Fang. "Why is this building still standing?"

"Metal Knight constructed headquarters to be stronger than the average shelter!" Sitch responded. "But outside is a wasteland!"

"That's why there are no windows," Bad deduced as he stood up. "This place is a stronghold for keeping out monsters."

"We should go check out the enemy!" chimed Child Emperor. "Maybe they're not the prophecy."

And with that, Bad left for the ground floor to check out what the big commotion was. He may or may not have taken his time.

A/N: Next chapter will still be mainly from the manga featuring a few thoughts from Bad himself, but don't worry: Chapter 3 is where things will get interesting. I'm uploading chapters 1-3 together just so you guys can get past the manga copy quicker. Until next time, folks.
