A guest asked for a oneshot of Ella suggesting that Emma is too old for her baby blanket to Snow at a mommy and me class. She suggests Snow talk to her about giving it up in case Neal copies her behaviour. Snow gets very protective and defensive.
"Thanks again, Ella." Snow said as she bundled Neal back into his pram. "Neal just loves these classes, huh bubba?" Snow cooed to her baby boy, delighting in his giggles.
"Happy to help. Alex is quite a fan of them too." Ella replied, bouncing her little girl on her hip. Snow smiled at them both. "Thanks for helping clear up."
"No problem. We'd best be heading now. We've got a few errands to run. Someone spilt daddy's drink on sissy's blanket. Luckily, Emma's working overtime today so hadn't had a chance to see it yet. I'm taking it to Granny. She made the thing and I swear she has some kind of laundry magic. Hopefully she'll get the stain out and Emma doesn't have to be any the wiser." Snow explained. She looked up to find Ella seemed like she wanted to say something. "What's wrong Ella?" She asked. Ella bit her lip. "You can tell me."
"I've been meaning to talk to you about it for a while, actually." Ella admitted. "It's just…you've mentioned Emma's blanket a few times. How attached she can be to it even though she pretends she isn't. Well…have you ever considered maybe asking her to try and keep it under her pillow or something? I know it's really none of my business, I'm really just trying to help. Only Neal's getting older now. He'll start to copy the behaviour of those around him. He's likely to learn a lot from Emma. If he sees her being overly attached to her blanket, it's likely he'll become overly attached to something. Just thought you should be aware of it." Ella finished. Snow fixed a polite smile on her face. She knew Alex was teething, and Ella would never be so bold otherwise. Even still, Snow couldn't help but feel irritated.
"All Emma had was that blanket growing up. She didn't have many other toys to play with, or people to cuddle all the time. If she wants to still have it to fiddle with when she's thinking at home, if she can't sleep without it, if it makes her feel safe when she's home alone, then I'm more than ok with that. Then, if in a few months, Neal has a toy that he grows a similar attachment to, then I think that's a price worth paying. Now, excuse me, I have to speak to Granny." Snow said, wheeling Neal out. She knew that when she came to the next class, Ella would be very apologetic for what she said. Snow wasn't really mad at her, but she wouldn't let anyone make Emma feel bad for needing her blanket.
