AN: This is my first ever work in any fandom. I am brand new to this and know I probably did a horrible job, so let me have it in the comments/reviews so I can publish good stuff in the future (Hopefully).
The summary explains my thinking of how the story will go, but some more details I couldn't include are the following:
The main character does indeed share my username because I like it better than Gloria and it's what I always name my characters.
M.C. is female because whenever I have the option, I always play female characters in games because they always seem to have the better customization options when there are any,
Being from Spikemuth, experiences from being "raised" by certain people, and because of personal preferences, the M.C. will be a dark type main because they aren't represented and/or appreciated enough by Nintendo. What does that mean for the starter? Goanna have to wait and see for that.
Rating will be M for words used and for future themes If I go into those (not sure if I want to though because that will be some heavily dark stuff).
Updates for those who would follow will be irregular because…life and all. I hope I'll be able to update it every few weeks at the latest hopefully.
That is all I wanted to say. Hope you enjoy this train wreck of an experiment of mine. Leave a review and Hopefully I'll Improve.
"Aw shit. Of course, it's raining on the day I didn't bring an umbrella."
Piers was an average height man with a not so average appearance. His long hair was unique to say the least, being a weird yet appealing combination of black and white in different areas with spikes around it and tied back into a large ponytail. He was wearing a dark type gym uniform from the gym since he was working before, he was playing a gig tonight. Lastly, his eyes had a sort of permanent racoon mark, since he was always tired from his job and band playing.
Piers was running home from his last gig of the night, playing at a café called Sinful Poltea, because the tea was so good it was a sin. He quickly glances at his watch to see what time it was. It was half past 10.
"I hope Marn didn't stay up waiting for me. Knowing her though I wouldn't doubt if she did."
Piers lived with his sister Marnie after they're parents had died when they were both young, with Marnie being about four and Piers being close to 13. Over the past five years, he's had to work hard so they could scrape by and was now even the next upcoming gym leader for his city and was beginning to live more comfortably.
The siblings lived in a run-down city known as Spikemuth in the Galar region. Most of the buildings were either damaged, old, abandoned, or a combination of the three, but to them it was home.
Piers keeps running until he spots a narrow alley and quickly turns to run through.
If I quickly cut through here, I can get home a bit qui-
He didn't finish that thought as he laid eyes on a figure sitting in a fetal position. His good ears picked up the softest of whimpers and sniffling. Upon closer inspection he found the person to only be a kid, about the same age as Marnie he would recon.
He honestly just wants to keep moving and get back home to his little sis, but then a few things would happen. If Marnie ever found out about e had left a little kid in the rain he would more than likely lose her respect. If the town found out, he would more than likely lose his job, being one of their best trainers or not.
Oh, and I guess the little one here would get very sick with Pneumonia or something and may even…Let's not think about that.
"Hey there. You alright little?"
The kid lifted their head and he got a decent look at them.
She seemed to be a little girl, and if he was right about his first assumption, she was about little Marnie's age, so close to 9 years or so. What was interesting however were some of her features. Her hair was a light shade of a purplish color, maybe a lavender, and her eyes were again a sort of purple like her hair it was some sort of lavender shade, but with a darker tint to it. Her clothes were all large and a bit loose for her, with white shirt and pitch-black cargo pants of a sort.
"Are you alright? What are you doing out in this shitty weather?"
The little girl didn't respond, but she showed signs of at least hearing him when she looked down with another sad look on her face, looking like she was about to burst into tears.
"…Do you know where your parents are? If so, I may be able to- "Piers was interrupted suddenly by the first word the child had spoken in the time.
"No."
It was sudden and quiet, but it held a vile venom in it. That was a sore topic it seems, and best to stay away from for the time being.
Pier's could see the kid was suffering out here, but what could he do other than-
"…Listen kid, uh, if you need a place to stay…you can come to my house for the night, and if you want to we can talk more there if you like."
What the hell am I doing and saying?
Surprised by his own words, Piers was cussing himself out, but what surprised him the most was when the kid responded back.
"I don't want to be bothersome. You should just go home and forget this ever happened. Besides I'm nothing but bad luck."
"…You won't be bothersome…probably. But at least come back with me for a night and get out of this weather. We might have some food for you to eat as well if you're hungry. Besides, my family has a lot of bad luck anyway, so it wouldn't matter if you were around for too long anyway.
The Kid looked back up to the man with the weird hair style. She had a look that was screaming "what should I do?' as if she was having a mental war of sorts in her head on whether to accept the offer or not.
"Fine. Just the one night though. I don't want to be a mess in your odd hair for long." The kid had begun standing up and pulled up a jacket she had close to her that somehow wasn't wet. It was purple of course with black elbow patches of a sort and pockets. Along the hood were white lines that intersected, and the sleeves had the same stripes that circled along the sleeve all the way down it's length.
"Good call kid, now if you'll follow me, we should- Wait what did you say about my hair?!"
. . .
"About time bro. Where have you been all this- "Marnie started but didn't finish surprised by the extra guest in the apartment when her brother entered. A little girl just a bit taller than her.
The kid coat looked around the apartment and took in the details. It was small, but not so much it was cramped. It had your basic utensils and furniture, a few lamps on some stands, a couch and a few chairs near it with a coffee table in the center of what she assumed to be the living room. Right across from them was a small TV, an older model judging by its appearance. A few posters hear and there to personalize it.
The kitchen had a dining table, a coffee maker, toaster, oven, and stove, some of the most common household appliances and furniture for a kitchen. It's counter was again small but had enough room for a person or two to work comfortably when prepping a meal.
Down the way seemed to be a hallway which looked like it was connected to a 2-3 bedrooms or maybe even a guest room.
Piers guided the guest to the couch after removing her coat and setting to the side for later to run in a close by laundromat. He wrapped a blanket around her to try and warm her up.
"Who's she? What's going on Piers?" She questioned her brother.
"I'll explain that later, right now this kid needs some warmth, and probably a good meal if we have any extra food. Speaking of which, what did master chef Marn cook today?" He said in a half joking tone with a goofy grin on his face, one he would only use around her usually.
Marnie while being about 9 years old was relatively on the small side, with her black hair tied into a few pig tails. She wore a small pink dress of a sort with some fuzzy socks with what looked like Morepeko faces on them alternating from hangry mode to full belly.
Grabbing another bowl and filling it, Marnie explained it was a simple stir fry dish that used up the rest of their vegetables, meaning they would have to go shopping soon. She handed the bowl to the stranger.
"Thank you. It smells great," the mystery purple child said. She took another smell of the slightly warm dish and had a bite, then another until she couldn't stop eating till there wasn't a trace left in the bowl.
"Glad to see someone can tell and enjoy good food when presented so, right Piers?" she sarcastically said while glaring her black and white spike haired brother.
"Oh, come on Marn, that was one time. Besides you did over cook the meat in it, making it very difficult to swallow down." He said while looking to the side without much emotion on his face other than drowsiness.
Then they heard a small laugh, not a funniest joke in the world laugh, but one that's quiet enough to miss if you don't listen for it.
The siblings turned their head to the guest to see her trying her best to hold in a grin but failing miserably.
"What's so funny there then?" they said in unison.
"Sorry. It's just…I haven't seen siblings get along like you do in a while. It's just nice to see and watch. I'm sorry if I came off rude or anything," said the young lavender colored kid apologetically.
"…nah it's fine," said the older brother of the two. "You seemed like you needed a decent laugh anyway judging by your expression from earlier."
"…Yeah. I guess I did."
"Not much of a talker, are you?" Marnie had asked kid. "What's your name then? It looks like you'll be staying the night with this storm out so I wouldn't mind having name for the face."
For being so young, this Marnie seemed to have very good sentence structure. The purple haired child observed.
Thinking for a moment, the child opened her mouth and revealed her identity.
"You can call me Amethyst, like the gemstone."
