One-Shot: A...Lovely Conversation?

The street was calm and quiet. No one was walking down it, nor driving on it. However, one man walked through the sweltering heat of the sun. The man lumbered down the street, with a heavy grunt here and there. He was trying to get used to the metal living inside him. It burned like an intense flame throughout his insides. As he lumbered he remembered his sister's words. "You won't die..." ringing in his mind over and over again like a scratched record. He kept heaving until he found a park. It seemed calm enough.

He went down a ways in his heavy trench coat. He wore this damned thing since the "incident." He went down into that damned underground place, hoping to "put his sibling back together." Now here he was rotting all over inside a trench coat trying not to let anyone near him. He already reeked enough of death.

He turned left, then right and found a park bench. He heaved toward it until, after a lot of trying, to sit down. He sat down and grumbled. "Stupid robots," he mumbled in anger. This man's name was Michael Afton.

At the exact same time, a teenager named Charlie, wandered the park, searching for a flower for her lovely aunt. As she looked she came across a man in a trench coat. He seemed creepy, but upset. Charlie sighed and went to he bench. "Are you ok sir?" she asks.

"No...I am not," he says in response.

"May...may I sit down?" Charlie asks afraid. If he said no, she'd run, however what if he said-

"Yes, you may," the man replied. Well that answers that, Charlie thought to herself. She sat down.

"Do you know where I could find any flowers?" she wondered aloud.

"There are some tulips down there," Michael replied pointing a long sleeve down the way.

"Do you like flowers?" Charlie inquired. Michael grunted. Clearly not...

"I apologize, I am not in a positive mindset," Michael said.

"It's ok," Charlie found herself saying. "I am in the same boat as you."

"How so?" Michael asked but then found himself adding, "If you don't mind my asking?"

"Well..." Charlie trailed off. She found herself hesitant to tell a complete stranger her story of the horrors at Freddy's. So she asks, "Why are you upset?"

"Because," he replies, "I am trying to find someone...someone important. My father."

"Why so?" Charlie finds herself wondering again. "If you don't mind my asking?" she adds politely.

"Well...ah, I just want to find some answers to long standing questions. But every time I come close, I find another riddle of sorts. Which of course only leads to more questions as it were."

"I," Charlie begins thinking of her words. "I know just what you mean. I guess...I wanted to find my father as well. He was a great man."

"I wish I could say the same about mine," Michael chuckles. "I guess you could say, he was a poor man."

"Well, hey," Charlie says, "I have to get going. But here," she stands up and grabs a daffodil before handing it to Michael. Michael grabs it and looks up at the young woman's face. He stifles a gasp. She looks just like-

He accepts the flower and shakes his head, but as he looks back she's already too far to see. "Charlie?" he asks himself in shock. "Charlie Emily?" he asks again. He received no answer.
