Home cooked meal
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Snowing waking up to find that Emma has made them an EF style breakfast. She did it because it's their heritage, and from her *season six spoilers ahead!* wish realm memories.
Something tells me I'm not going to have to worry about a massive influx of requests as I start work lol.
Charming was always up first in the Charming family household. Having been raised a shepherd, his biological clock just set the alarm off at sunrise and there was nothing he could do about it. Well, he was normally the first one up. That morning, Emma was.
Charming could hear banging coming from the kitchen. He immediately got up, worried someone had broken in. He grabbed his sword from the side of the bed, checked Snow and Neal were both alright, and crept out into the living room. He followed the source of the banging through to the kitchen, where he found Emma over the stove. He wasn't sure at that point which was more dangerous. Burglars, or Emma cooking. She turned around when she heard the floor creak. She hardly batted an eye at the sight of her father's defensive stance, sword in hand.
"That's an awful big knife for breakfast." She commented, turning back to the pan. Charming set the sword down.
"It's our day off. What are you doing up before…midday?" He asked her. Emma rolled her eyes playfully at the remark.
"I had a hankering for some eggs." Emma explained. "But not like scrambled eggs, or even hard boiled. Eggs like the ones back home." She told him.
"How do they cook eggs in Boston that's so special?" He asked, wondering if he could make them for her. Emma shook her head.
"No, not Boston. Home, home. The Enchanted Forest." Emma explained further. Charming smiled at hearing Emma call the land of her birth home. "I got caught up thinking about my wish realm memories, and how you and mom must miss home. I thought this might be a nice surprise for when you got up. Although I forgot your some reverse werewolf who rises with the sun." Emma said. Charming chuckled, kissing the top of her head.
"It's still a lovely surprise Em. As is you being able to cook without us having to throw an electrical appliance in the trash." He joked. Emma rolled her eyes.
"The toaster was one time." She grumbled, tossing the eggs in the pan.
"Sure, if you say so. I'll just be ready with the extinguisher, just in case." He teased her as he sat down at the island. Emma ignored him, focusing on the cooking.
They both heard Neal crying not long before Emma finished the breakfast. Which was good timing, as it meant Snow came through with Neal just as Emma was plating up.
"What's all this?" She asked. Charming smirked at the hint of nervousness in her voice as she saw Emma had been doing the cooking.
"I wanted some food from back in the Enchanted Forest. I thought it might be nice for all of us." Emma explained to her. Snow smiled, touched, as Emma slid a plate in front of both of them. "Dig in."
"Thank you, sweetheart. What a lovely way to start the day." Snow said kindly. Emma smiled, picking up her own forkful. It wasn't quite as good as the main chef's from her wish realm, but it wasn't half bad, either.
