Henry under the hood
JRocks asked for a oneshot of *season 6 spoilers!* the Black Fairy turning Henry against his family, resulting in him being under the hood. Emma reminding him about their first encounter frees him.
Nobody had expected it. It came as a complete shock. How the Black Fairy had managed to corrupt Henry and twist his mind in such a short space of time was beyond any of them. Trying to work it all out was pointless now though. What mattered was trying to get out of this with everyone ok. Henry was the person under the hood, and now was the time. He had come to kill Emma. A son had come to kill his own mother.
"Henry, please!" Emma pleaded with him as they circled each other, their loved ones on the outskirts of their makeshift battlefield, all looking incredibly torn. "You don't really want to do this…"
"Of course I do." Henry spat, with a voice filled with venom. "You abandoned me, you caused this. You allowed the Black Fairy to take me." Henry growled, lunging forward with his sword. Emma dodged just in time. She refused to do anything more than defend herself. No matter what, she would not harm her son.
"Henry, that's not true. Regina raised you. The Black Fairy and you didn't mean until she came to Storybrooke a few weeks ago. She's put these fake memories in your head, kid. Don't let her win. Don't do this…"
"Shut up!" Henry ordered her, swinging the sword at her head. Again, Emma dodged. "Stop trying to distract me with your lies. I know the truth now, mother. Now it's time to end you."
"How could I ever lie to you, Henry?" Emma tried to make him see sense. "How could your whole life be a lie? Don't you remember when you came and found me for yourself when you were ten? You travelled all the way to Boston by yourself because you were the only person smart and brave enough to believe I was the Saviour who would break the curse. You were right. I need you to show that belief now. This isn't you, Henry. You don't have this darkness inside your heart." Emma tried to reach out to him. Henry went to lunge at Emma, who this time didn't dodge. She screwed her eyes tightly shut and turned her head away. If she could not reach out to Henry, this could only end one way. Their families all cried out, not believing Emma was giving up so easily. But halfway through the attack, before striking the deadly blow, Henry froze. He shook his head, his memories clearing. His sword clattered to the ground. Emma dared open her eyes and look at Henry, who looked absolutely horrified.
"Mom?" He croaked. Emma cried out with relief before gathering Henry into her arms.
"I'm here, kid." She promised him. "I'm here."
