Chapter 2: Seattle

It had been three days since I had arrived here. Three days since I escaped with Tyler. After overhearing my aunt and uncle plotting to kill us I went back to my room and quickly packed a few things. Just the bare essentials that we would need to survive for the time being. Just some clothes, diapers, bottles, and baby formula for Tyler. I took cash and some of my jewelry as well.

It was not until my aunt and uncle were asleep that I made my escape. I got an Uber ride to the airport and booked a ticket to Seattle, Washington which happened to be the next available flight out of Lexington, Kentucky. Once I touched down I asked for a list of homeless shelters in Seattle. That's how I ended up at the Sacred Heart Shelter.

Although I was accepted into the shelter I stood out like a sore thumb. I was far from being the only teenage girl with a baby there. Parents kicking out their teenage daughter after she got pregnant or gave birth wasn't exactly unheard of. No. People here were quick to point out the designer clothing that I and Tyler were wearing. Nobody ever dressed a baby in designer clothes unless they had a lot of money. The southern accent I possessed after spending my entire life in Kentucky also turned heads.

People were curious about me and started asking me way more questions than I was comfortable answering. So I tried to avoid answering their questions as much as I could. This morning after eating breakfast I decided to go out into the city and look for a job. I didn't have much of a plan just yet but this seemed like a good place to start. If I got a job than I could save money for a place to rent and move out of the shelter.

I thought of everything back home. Everything that I had inherited. The stocks, the assets, the horses we had racing all over the world, all of the property they had, the billion dollars, everything that my grandparents had amassed over their lifetime. All of it was mine. But I could never touch any of it. If I did my evil aunt and uncle would find us and kill us. I let out a shaky breath. I just couldn't believe that my aunt and uncle were so evil that they would not only kill my grandparents, but Tyler and I as well.

I held my baby boy tightly. He was so small. So young. Only a month old. He was completely dependent on me to keep him safe from all harm and that was what I was going to do. That's why I was in the situation I was currently in. It was all to protect him. Myself also. But most important him. Protecting him was more important right now.

I walked into every single building that had a now hiring sign. I was subsequently turned down every single time. They gave me various different reasons. Lack of resume, age, had a baby, no verifiable address. It was disinhearting. I was about to give up when I saw another now hiring sign outside of a more official looking business.

Okay. I would give it one last try. I walked in and headed straight toward the receptionist who was on the phone.

Her eyes went wide when she saw me. "I'm sorry but I'm going to have to call you back," she mumbled.

"Hi I-"

"Mrs. Cullen I'm so sorry. Mr. Jenks said you weren't going to be here until 4pm. We weren't expecting to see you so early,"

What the hell? "I'm not-"

"Mr. Jenks Mrs. Cullen is here already. Do you want me to send her in?"

"What?!" I heard a man yell. "Yes send her in!"

I felt like I was in a daze when I walked in the direction that the receptionist had pointed me down. "Bella I wasn't expecting to see you so early. Come this way,"

"I. Um. I don't understand what's going on," I said as I walked into a room behind him.

"Since when do you have a southern accent Bella?"

"My name is not Mrs. Cullen or Bella.. My name is Renesmee and I have always had a southern accent,"

"Wait you're not Isabella Cullen? But you look so much like her. Although now that I'm really looking your eyes are different. Yours are brown instead of gold,"

Who the hell has gold eyes?

"No. My name is Renesmee. I just came here to inquire about the job you are hiring for,"

"Oh. I thought you were here for my other services I mean,"

"Oh you're that guy that forges documents on the side aren't you? I've heard of you before. Jason Jenks, right?" I did remember hearing his name being mentioned by some shady looking people at the homeless shelter. "Well then maybe there is something you can help me with after all," maybe fake documents wouldn't be such a bad idea. Having fake identities would make it so much harder for my evil aunt and uncle to find me. They couldn't touch my grandparents fortune as long as Tyler and I were still alive. So they would be looking for us until they found us.

"So you do want documents then?"

"Yes. Um. I could use a fake driver's license. Also fake birth certificates and passports for my son and I,"

"Do you have any pictures?" he asked me.

"Sure," I said as I looked through my wallet. Luckily I had one picture of me and one of Tyler.

"Names for the documents?"

"Vanessa for me and Eric for my son,"

"Okay now let's about pricing. For a transaction like this I would normally charge about five thousand dollars for such a transaction as this,"

"Oh, right," I hadn't thought of the money aspect.

"Is something the matter Renesmee?"

"I don't have that kind of money with me," I had only brought around two thousand dollars worth of cash. Which I also just realized I left hidden back at the shelter. So I had absolutely nothing on me. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

"What do you have? It's customary to give half now and half later,"

"Look Mr. Jenks all I have is this bracelet," I hesitantly handed over that bracelet. I'd had it since I was a baby. I'd been wearing it since my mom had found me abandoned in a dumpster somewhere here in Seattle. "It's a five carat diamond bracelet worth about two thousand dollars. You can take it to an appraiser specialist if you don't believe me. I can bring the rest by next week when we meet again,"

"Kid why did you lie to me? You said you and your son weren't Cullens," he looked at me like I was crazy.

"Tyler and I are not Cullens. That's why. I didn't lie to you sir. In all honesty I've never even heard of the Cullens before now,"

"This bracelet tells me otherwise. I have been working with the Cullen family for over 30 years. I know their family's crest when I see it. It also has Renesmee C. etched into it. That can't be a coincidence,"

"I'm sorry Mr. Jenks but I'm telling you that you're wrong,"

"Okay kid. Fine I will accept this bracelet as partial payment. Let's meet six pm on Friday and I will have the documents ready. Will you have the rest of the money?"

"I will sir,"

I was about to leave when he stopped me. "What hotel are you staying at?"

"I'm not staying at a hotel. I'm currently living at the Sacred Heart Shelter,"

"The homeless shelter?"

"Yes. Now why are you asking?"

"One of my clients, Isabella Cullen, is coming in less than an hour. I'm going to mention your name to her. I have a hunch she's going to want to go find you,"

I laughed. "and I have a hunch that she's going to tell you that she's never even heard of a girl named Renesmee,"
