The double doors flew open, the Legendary Devil Hunter marching down the steps with the mysterious V at his right, his cane lifted and not being used as he tried to keep up.
The lookalike of Eva, Trish, was at his left. "But what about Mundus?" she questioned in a curious tone.
"He's gonna have to wait." Dante was swift to reply.
Trish became a tad annoyed by this. "The Devil Emperor rising into the human world is no small matter. I thought he was your responsibility as the son of the Dark Knight?"
The Son of Sparda never even turned to her. "Yeah, but this is my responsibility, too."
"Mundus is far more of a threat." she protested.
"All the more reason to knock V's job down first. I dunno about you, but I don't really like little guys getting in the way while I'm taking on the big fish."
"You underestimate his power." V added after Dante finished.
The three would continue onwards, but a voice calling out Dante's name made them all come to a halt not far outside Devil May Cry.
It was Nero, approaching rather fast with the lady in violet robes not far behind.
Eliza had her hood raised, some strands of her long, brown hair being visible.
"Kid, I thought I told you to watch the shop." the uncle reflected, turning to his nephew.
Nero halted when close enough, looking to his uncle. "You did, but then..." he turned his head back to Eliza, gesturing to her before turning back to Dante. "we had a customer. Listen, we've got big problems."
"You're telling me." the Legendary Devil Hunter replied, crossing his arms.
The Son of Vergil gave a slight nod in response. "We taking the fight to 'em, then? Putting a stop to Mundus?"
Letting out a sigh, Dante shook his head. "I've got something else to take care of first. Another job."
"More important than this?" the Devil Hunter replied, raising his voice, confused.
"I wouldn't say it's bigger, but it's gotta get done before we tackle Mundus."
"He's right." V said, stepping forward and tapping his cane against the ground, turning the page of his book. "If we leave Urizen alone for too long, he'll become far stronger than he's already gotten. That is not something we can afford."
Nero turned his head to V, curious as to who this man even was, and the he noticed Trish, but he didn't pay her too much mind after seeing a picture that looked just like her at Dante's desk.
After taking a moment and letting out a sigh, Nero finally said "Alright. I'll tag along, and we'll bag this bitch."
Eliza looked down slightly, her expression dropping a tad.
Trish gained an annoyed expression, rolling her eyes.
V narrowed his eyes, turning to Dante with a disapproving expression, as though he didn't feel it best if Nero came along.
The Son of Sparda sighed. "No, Nero. This one's not something you want in on."
"What?" the Devil Hunter questioned, confused and annoyed.
"Trust me, kid, this one's gonna be a bit much for you. Stay here, look after the shop, take some normal jobs."
"No!" Nero protested, raising his tone. "You can't expect me to just sit here while the world goes to Hell! At least let me go after Mundus while you handle it."
"No!" Dante replied, raising his tone and approaching Nero, coming close to his nephew with a serious expression. "This job is too much for you, and Mundus is definitely not someone you wanna fight."
The Son of Vergil stepped back. This caught him off guard, as it was possibly the most serious he'd ever seen Dante get.
After noticing his nephew's unease, the Legendary Devil Hunter gave a more understanding expression. "Look, Nero, I don't doubt your strength. It's nothing like that. If you want, I'll let you tag along when we take the fight to Mundus, but Urizen isn't one you wanna get mixed up in, capeesh?"
The Devil Hunter slowly looked back to Dante, leaving a silence in the air for a few moments.
"Yeah. Whatever." he finally said, looking away, annoyed.
The Legendary Devil Hunter looked at him a moment, not entirely sure he got through to his nephew, and thinking on it a bit further.
"Make haste, Dante." V called out to the uncle.
"Yeah... I know." he said in response, turning his back to Nero. "Don't worry, kid, we'll be back in time for dinner. There better not be olives on my pizza."
The Devil Hunter watched the two walk away, turning his head to Trish who was approaching slowly.
"Well, looks like we'll be waiting awhile longer."
"Mm." Eliza replied to Trish, nodding.
Nero looked to them both, sighing. He then gestured towards the double doors of Devil May Cry. "Come on. Might as well stick around."
The Son of Vergil began to step forward, entering the shop with the ladies not far behind.
Eliza followed with little hesitation, and Trish wasn't far behind her.
The former took a seat on the couch, and the latter wandered about for a few moments, gazing at the many weapons Dante had on the walls and around.
The Devil Hunter went over to the jukebox, flipping through the songs before finally halting on one with the title of 'Devil Trigger'.
Soon enough, the tune began to play throughout the shop, causing Nero to nod slightly as he enjoyed the song. He was interrupted by the ring of the phone on the desk.
After a second, Nero picked the phone up, placing it to his ear and immediately saying "Devil May Cry."
"Nero? Is that you?" the voice of Raillyn said over the phone.
"Yeah. Been awhile. What's up?" he asked his old friend, taking a seat in the chair at the desk, feet propping up onto it.
"I left something over at Devil May Cry, and was coming to pick it up. Could you tell Dante I'm gonna be a little late?"
Those words hit Nero, an eyebrow raising at first as it registered. "A little late for what?"
"The Redgrave job. Morrison filled me in, and we're working it together with Lady."
His eyebrow lowered, expression turning grim. "Is that right?" he said in response to her in a low tone, wondering why someone like Raillyn is being allowed on the job, yet not him. "Yeah. I'll be sure to let him know."
"Thanks. Will I see you there, too?" she asked in a curious, friendly tone.
The Son of Vergil took a moment to reply, but did so in a calmer tone, mostly due to her words, and making it clear who's idea this really was. "Probably not. I've got something else to take care of. Bigger fish to fry."
"Oh. Alright." she replied in a more solemn tone.
Nero hung up the phone soon after, getting out of his seat.
He lifted Red Queen from the wall, placing it onto his back as he spoke to the two ladies. "So, Mundus? Let's take the bastard down."
Eliza widened her eyes, having lowered her hood to unveil this.
Trish turned to Nero, eyebrows raising. "Sure you don't want to wait on Dante?"
"Damn sure." the Son of Vergil replied. "He takes Raillyn along with him, but not me? What the Hell does he think I am? Weak?" he scoffed. "Let's go kick his ass."
He then walked towards the double doors, pushing them open with his demonic hand.
Trish looked to Eliza, shrugging a bit before following behind.
The latter was hesitant at first, but soon rose from her seat, lifting her hood.
As he walked towards his van baring the blue sign of Devil May Cry, he thought on this, and was ready to battle Mundus, to prove to his uncle he could handle himself.
