"Thanks for watching her, Chlo," Evie said, grabbing her bag off the counter. "I'm just going to therapy so I shouldn't be gone longer than that. She ate lunch about an hour ago. She's due a nap but she's been fighting them a lot lately so good luck." Evie laughed a little before walking over and kissing Macie's head. "I'll be back soon."

"Bye Blue. Bring back mommy please." Macie looked at her with sad eyes.

"I know baby. I'm working on it." Evie chewed her lip for a moment. Then she stood up and waved bye to Chloe and walked out the front door.

Evie headed towards the bus stop and let her mind race. She hadn't seen Mal since she told her to leave on Monday. It was Friday. No texts. No calls. Nothing. Evie was aware that's what she basically told her to do but she was still worried. Macie's birthday party was the following afternoon and Evie just couldn't decide what to do about it. Mal should be there but not the Mal that had been around the past couple months.

Autopilot led the woman all the way to the steps outside her therapist. She caught herself by surprise to see she was already there. She had barely sat down on the couch in the office before the tears started falling from her eyes.

Dr. Darling just let Evie cry, not speaking but observing and making notes. She reached across the table and handing Evie a box of tissues. The blue haired woman cried and cried letting all the emotions and feeling from the week finally come out.

It took a full ten minutes before Evie could calm down enough to speak. She was embarrassed by her breakdown and kept her eyes in her shoes, not wanting to make eye contact.

"Do you feel better?" The Doctor asked.

Evie just shook her head.

"Are you ready to talk about what's happened to make you break down on my couch?"

Evie was quiet for a while, contemplating what to say. She wasn't even sure where to begin. "My girlfriend, um, Mal, she's a drug addict. Like...like me. She's been so sober for almost 4 years. I admired her so much for that."

"You know longer admire her?"

Evie shook her head, "for the last 6 weeks or so, she's been out every night drinking and doing drugs. God only knows what else."

The doctor wrote a few notes and then turned her attention back to Evie, "and how are you doing with your own sobriety with this?"

"Barely hanging on to it, honestly. But I'm still sober." Evie knew this was a major accomplishment but it didn't feel like it was.

"That makes about 6 months for you then right?" The doctor smiled at Evie like it was some major accomplishment to avoid drugs.

"Next week, yeah," Evie nodded. She honestly never in a million years thought she would make it to six months sober. Hell, most days she didn't even know if it was what she wanted. She had only really stayed sober so she could be with Mal. That was out the window now. Or at least for a while.

"That's very impressive. You realize that, right?"

Evie nodded. She did know it was amazing but with everything else happening, she didn't really have the energy to be proud of herself. "I don't really have time to celebrate though. With Mal gone, have to take care of Macie alone. It's hard."

The doctor once again scribbled on her notepad. Evie wished she wouldn't. It was the one thing she really hated about therapy. "So is Mal still at home with you? Do you see her?"

Evie shook her head in response, "I told her she had to leave until she got her shit together. My guess is she is in our old hideout on the Isle. I haven't been by the check. I'm not entirely sure if I want to. I don't think I can handle another run in with high or drug Mal. I love her too much." The entire situation was making Evie realize just how glad she was that she didn't witness this part of Mal's life originally. She didn't like the time she had to face it.

"That's probably wise. Leave her be."

"It's Macie's third birthday party is tomorrow. I don't even know if Mal knows or remembers. Or if she is even alive for it to matter," Evie spoke the last bit quietly. It was something she had worried about since Mal hadn't been returning her texts.

"Well, celebrate with that little girl and the people who love her and don't put your expectations all on Mal. If she comes, great, if not, don't let it ruin the day. The day is about Macie, okay?"

Evie nodded, "I will try."

"Keep your head up. Mal will realize the mistakes she is making. It will just take some time. Just keep trying."

Evie nodded again. Of course the therapist was right. She always was. It was just hard to sit by and do nothing. She missed her girlfriend so much. It was breaking her heart.

"Same time next week?"

Evie nodded, "thanks."

Mal growled when she heard a knock on the door. "What the fuck!"

"You need to calm down," Uma told her. "I brought you lunch."

"It had better not been from that fucking fish shop again." Mal glared at Uma as she crossed the room over to where she was sitting.

"Nope. Tacos today."

Mal took the bag from Uma and opened it, looking in. She didn't believe the sea witch that she didn't bring more fish. The blonde was satisfied with the food and immediately started eating it.

"A grunt of acknowledgement might be nice." Uma rolled her eyes.

"Fuck you," Mal replied back, her mouth full.

"We're you this pleasant the last time you went through withdrawal?"

Mal looked at her for a moment, debating what she should say. "You can go now."

Uma sighed and stood up. "Evie's asking about you. Call her."

"No," Mal answered, taking another bite.

"You love her." Uma told her.

"Is that a question?" Mal snapped.

"It's a fucking statement you ungrateful bitch. Call her." Uma snapped back before walking out the door.

Evie paced outside the old hideout debating if she wanted to go up. She tossed the rock up and caught it again. She turned the rough object over in her hands. She missed her girlfriend so much but at the same time, she was so angry with her.

Thirty minutes she walked back and forth before finally taking aim. She missed twice but hit the target squarely on the third try. Making her way up the stairs she flashed back to the thousands of times she had done it before. 3 flights of stairs later and she made it to the door. Evie took a deep breath before quietly opening it.

Evie looked around and the place looked empty. No Mal in sight. She walked inside, the heels of her boots echoing off the concrete walls.

"Uma, you need to leave," Mal called from the other room, appearing a moment lately with ever intention of forcing the witch out. "Oh."

Evie waved the smallest of waves, not sure what to do with herself now that she was actually face to face with her girlfriend.

"What are you doing here?" Mal snapped.

"I missed you," Evie answered truthfully.

"I missed you too," Mal replied, not moving from her spot. "You shouldn't be here though."

Evie fidgeted on her spot but stayed put, "Uma called me. Told me I needed to come check on you."

Mal rolled her eyes and walked over to the couch, "I'm perfectly fine."

The blue haired girl chewed on her lip. She wanted to sit next to Mal but she didn't think she should. Instead the leaned against the wall. "Are you sober again?"

Mal nodded but didn't speak. She didn't think she could.

"Do you want to be?"

Mal shrugged. It was true. She didn't know what she wanted.

Evie reached into her bag and pulled out the small vial of cocaine she had gotten from Doug. "Here."

Mal shook her head, "no."

"We've never been high together. I'll bet it would make sex incredible. Macie is with Chloe. No one else is here with us." Evie walked closed to Mal and held out the vial. "Here."

"You've done so well, E. You're almost 6 months sober." Mal eyed the drugs, her body desperate to feel the high again.

"And you were 4 years sober. You threw it all away, why can't I?" Evie inched closer to her girlfriend. She placed the vial on the table and sat down next to Mal.

"You're better than me," Mal whispered quietly. She picked up the vial and twirled it around in her fingers.

"Then let's be bad together."

"Evie..."Mal said pleadingly. She could feel her resolve melting away.

"Come on, M. It'll be fun. I'm really good at sex when I'm high. It helps me forget and loosen up. Trust me, it'll feel amazing." Evie knew she was pushing the limits on what Mal could handle but she was hoping it would pay off in the end.

Mal bit her lip and looked at Evie. Those deep chocolate eyes causing her whole system to feel better without the help of drugs. "I don't want them. I just want you, E."

Evie nodded and grabbed the vial back. "Good." Evie stood up and walked over to the bathroom and flushed the drugs for hopefully the last time.

"What do you mean good? Was this a test?" Mal asked, her eyebrow raising.

"Yep." Evie told her. She walked back over and collapsed on the couch and pulled Mal into her. "I've missed you so much, M."

"I'm so, so sorry, Evie."

"I don't exactly have a right to be upset with you," Evie told her and she started to play with the blonde locks.

Mal relaxed in Evie's arms for the first time in weeks. "I really fucked up."

"It's okay. Macie is too young to understand what's going on and I have a forgiving nature so I think you're off the hook with us. I don't know about your job though. Or Dizzy."

"Oh god! Dizzy." Mal sat up quickly, panic crossing her features. "Is she okay. Is the baby okay?"

Evie nodded, "they are okay. They are both being monitored very carefully. No permanent damage done. But you owe her an apology."

Mal nodded, "I know. I owe everyone one."

"Macie's party is in a few hours. You should come," Evie told her. She pulled Mal in close again, needing to feel her against her.

"How fucked up is it that I need an invite to my own kid's party?" Mal could feel tears forming in her eyes. She had destroyed everything in such a short time.

"You'll get there, M," Evie reassured her. "If I can do it, so can you."

Mal sat quiet for a while, thinking about the things she had done recently. "E, I'm so, so sorry. I know I've said that but gods I'm so sorry. I love you so much and I've just hurt you and I just can't even put into words how unbelievably sorry I am. I don't even remember half of what I said or did but I know it hurt you."

"We can't keep this back and forth of doing drugs. This relationship can't be a who is high this week kind of situation. I never wanted to be sober until I got to be with you. I had no desire to actually feel real feelings. I would trade all the awful feelings for being able to feel how much I love you. Drugs are enticing but you're more so." Evie paused and leaned over to kiss Mal. "If I get a lifetime of being with you, I will never touch coke again."

Mal smiled at Evie's words. She had never been big on mushy stuff but she felt warm and fuzzy. She knew how lucky she was that her and Evie had managed to end up together. So many other circumstances could've derailed it. "I love you, Evelyn Grimhilde."

"I love you, Mal Moors."

Mal shifted a little so she could kiss her girlfriend. She wanted nothing more than to be with her. Evie kissed back as deeply as she possibly could. She never wanted to stop.

Evie suddenly stopped and stood up. Mal looked back with confusion. "What the hell?"

Evie smiled at her before holding out her hand. Mal immediately took it and let Evie lead them over to the bed that was in the room. She reached down and took the hem of her shirt and quickly pulled it over her head, silently commanding Mal to follow suit. Once they were both naked, Evie attacked Mal's lips once again, this time a little more heated. They collapsed into the bed, lips never parting.

Evie straddled Mal and very slowly began to kiss her way down the body beneath her. Mal moaned at both the contact and the pace. She wished it was faster. Evie took her time though. She started with her neck, kissing and sucking as she went. Next was one breast, then the other flicking and twirling her tongue around the nipples she found there. Evie dragged her fingers lightly down the soft skin to where Mal wanted them most.

Evie stopped and looked up into Mal's hooded deep green eyes then without warning, ran her fingers through the wetness she found. Both girls moaned in unison, Mal at the feeling, Evie at the wetness. Mal was already soaked. Evie didn't have much experience with this situation so she let Mal's moans guide her. She started slowly rubbing circles on Mal's clit which caused the blonde to arch her back.

Once Mal was worked up enough, Evie slid her fingers down to Mal's entrance and slid two fingers in easily.

"Fuck," Mal growled out. It felt incredible.

Evie bit her lip and continued to thrust in and out of her girlfriend, loving the way she squirmed when the right spot was hit. She leaned down and attached her lips to Mal's clit, causing the other woman to curse again and practically shoot off the bed.

Evie alternated between sucking on Mal's clit to thrusting in and out while Mal panted and gasped at every change. She knew it wouldn't be long or take much. Sure enough, moments later, Mal completely came undone when her orgasm washed over her. She collapsed backwards and Evie snuggled up next to her.

"You feel so good," Mal laughed, trying to catch her breath.

Evie smiled, "glad to hear it because I don't really know what I'm doing."

Mal quickly moved and straddled Evie. It was her turn. Without thinking, Mal grabbed Evie's wrists and pinned them above her head. Evie immediately started freaking out.

"No! No no no. Get off. Let me go," Evie begged, fear covering her face.

Mal rolled off Evie and pulled her close, "I'm sorry. Baby I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking."

Evie kept her eyes closed and breathed in Mal's scent, forcing her brain to keep her grounded. "I want you. So much. Listening to you, feeling you...I'm so turned on."

Mal pulled Evie on top of her, making sure to place her thigh in between Evie's. "Now you're in charge." She gently pushed her thigh into Evie's center, and she was rewarded with a moan. Evie started to grind against Mal, loving the feeling. It was unlike anything she had felt before.

Evie moaned into Mal's ear, moving faster and harder as she pushed herself down into Mal's thigh with every thrust of her body. "Mal..."

Mal pulled Evie close her to her thrust up her thigh into Evie and listened to her pants and moans get louder and faster. "Let go, E. I've got you."

Moments later Evie's body tensed up and relaxed. Evie collapsed completely onto Mal and tried to catch her breath. She couldn't even see straight. "Wow."

Mal smiled into the mess of blue locks that covered her face. "I love you."

"Mmmm...I love you too," Evie told her, enjoying her post orgasm high.

"We gotta get going if we are going to make it to Macie's party. I really miss her."

Evie nodded and forced herself to get out of the bed. She was a little wobbly on her feet while she got dressed. Mal put on her own clothes and looked in the mirror and laughed. "I have sex hair."

Evie laughed, "yes you do."

"I'll meet you downstairs in a few minutes," Mal leaned over and kissed Evie.

Mal watched her girlfriend walk out the door and took a deep breath. Everything that had happened in the last hour was a lot for her barely sober brain to take in. She looked down at her hands and saw they were shaking.

It's not that she was faking anything with Evie. She was sober. She hadn't touched anything for a few days. The sex was real. The feelings and talking and intimacy was real. It just took a lot out of her. She desperately missed her daughter though. So ready to face the world or not, she was going with Evie. She took one more deep breath then walked out the door.
