The injured soldier returns

Fiona2832 asked for a oneshot of She snuggles up with Charming and watches a movie. She rests her head on his shoulder and falls asleep.

"You ready?" Snow asked excitedly. Meanwhile, Emma stared at the wheelchair her mom had wheeled into the room like it was made of lava.

"I have crutches. The whole point of me enduring physio was to make sure I could walk on them or I wasn't getting out of here. Why can't I walk to the car?" Emma complained. She didn't want anyone to see her in a wheelchair.

"The whole point of starting physio was so that you were safe to walk short distances around the house. You'll still be coming back here for a couple of sessions a week for a while." Charming reminded his daughter. Emma groaned, but allowed her dad to help her into the wheelchair. It was either this or endure more hospital food, and her mom had promised her grilled cheese and homemade onion rings for homecoming meal. Snow and Charming were both very glad for the wheelchair. It made it easier to keep a closer eye on Emma as she made her way out of the hospital for the first time in weeks. The Snow Queen was still out there somewhere. It was her fault Emma had an accident in the first place. Neither Snow nor Charming were now giving her a chance to take their daughter whilst she was so vulnerable. Neither parent even wanted to think back to when they had found Emma, lying alone in that ditch. For just a few seconds, they had both thought the worst. Even when they knew Emma was alive, they knew it wasn't good just by looking at the angle her leg was at. No matter how much Emma insisted she was fine. They were just glad it was the car that got so wrecked and not their daughter.

Snow and Charming hardly let Emma out of their sight from the second she was in the wheelchair the whole entire night. They were just so scared Ingrid would come and try to take Emma again. That's why they suggested a movie night after Emma had downed her grilled cheese and onion rings. It was a nice subtle way of keeping everyone together.

Not that Emma saw much of the movie. She didn't realise how exhausting it was going to be having to manoeuvre around the small loft flat (whenever her parents let her move) compared to the little amount she moved in the hospital. She would never say it out loud, but she was glad of the physio now. About halfway through the chosen movie (Bedknobs and Broomsticks)Emma found her head lulling to the side. She was so out of it she didn't even know where her head was resting. She just knew that she was comfortable. Charming, on the other hand, knew that Emma's new pillow was his shoulder. He didn't dare move an inch after that, scared he would wake her up. That resulted in him following asleep not long after, with Emma still snuggling into him. Snow smiled at them both, Neal also asleep on her chest. She sighed contently, taking the blanket up from around their knees to cover everyone as equally as possible on the couch. She rested her head on Charming's other shoulder, settling down herself after switching off the TV. She was feeling pretty sleepy herself.
