A/N: I'm really sorry I haven't been updating, I just can't find a lot of inspiration. I write when I can, but Middle School is pretty hard and I have a spelling bee coming up. But since it's Chanukah, I should have more time. Also, FTMOTP isn't cancelled. I just. . .haven't found the right inspiration yet to continue. I will post the chapters I've already written, though. Also, beware of spoilers from other universes, and for those who haven't read Magnus Chase(which I do not own), the Kane Chronicles(which I also do not own), or Trials Of Apollo(do I really need to do this? *sighs* I don't own anything, except me) go read them! Also, some Kotlc, Miraculous, and Harry Potter references are made! I do not own any of those, either. Enjoy!
Chapter 2: Explaining The Multiverse(and some other stuff)
When Percy and Ash walked into Cabin 3, Ash went right to his bunk and punched his pillow. Percy, sitting on his own bed, raised an eyebrow at his brother's actions. "Hey, what did that pillow ever do to you?" he asked.
Ash breathed heavily and plopped down on his bed with a grim look. He didn't answer. Percy looked at Ash with a sad look on his face. "Hey," he said gently, "everything okay?"
Ash still didn't answer, so Percy opened his mouth to talk again but paused as Ash's eyes started to water a bit. Percy waited, he'd wait forever for his brother. Finally, he spoke. "I just-I don't want my friends to get hurt, ya know?"
Percy nodded, he felt that exact same way whenever he was fighting something to keep his friends safe. "T-they already got hurt enough, traveling with me, or getting caught up in something I was supposed to fix, and now, now that they're demigods? That just means they'll have more opportunities to get hurt. I-I can't live with myself if they get hurt." He stopped, tears sliding down his cheeks. He seemed to want to go on, but at the same time not.
Percy sighed, and patted his bed. Ash looked at him in surprise, but nodded gratefully as he went to sit next to his brother.
"Have you. . .have you ever talked to anyone about this?" Percy asked.
Ash sniffed and looked at his brother, shaking his head slowly. Percy let out a sigh. "Okay, spill."
"W-well, every region I go to I meet up with at least 3 legendaries, and every time I do, I have to save them, the world, or both. I-I've died at least 3 times(lavender tower, temple of the sea(that counts as drowning, right?), and the tree of beginning. If there are anymore I missed, tell me in the reviews!), and I've seen 4 Pokemon die, 3 of them legendary Pokemon.(Latios, Celebi, and Darkrai. Lucario goes without saying.) a-and I've watched Arceus fade away, and Mew become really sick, and Lugia plunge into the ocean, and Pikachu turn to stone, and Pikachu being possessed, and heck, I've been possessed, twice! I've watched my mom being kidnaped, I've drowned, a lot, I've been absorbed, electrocuted, flamethrowered, jumped off cliffs, time travelled, been sent into the internet, and almost disappeared from existence! I've been kidnapped, almost mind-controlled, and a million other things! All I ask, is one region where I'm not thrusted into some world-saving event! One region! Why is that so much to ask! Whenever I think I'm good, something new pops up! I can't do this anymore, Percy, I can't! I've been the hero of two prophecies, but sometimes I wish that I never had to hear that stupid thing! And the earth shall turn to Ash." he snorted, panting now, tears streaming down his cheeks in rivers. He stood up to pace the room. "Chosen One, yeah right. There are so many other chosen ones! Why am I the chosen one in my universe? Why?" he shouted the last part, then collapsed on his bed, clutching his pillow and sobbing. Curling up into a tight ball, he sobbed his heart out.
Percy stared in amazement, he didn't know how his brother had kept all of this in(of course he didn't, when has our sunshine child ever talked about this? And no, I didn't forget about Mewtwo. Also, the one in the Genesect is a different one, you can tell from her voice, she's female, while one in Mewtwo strikes back and returns is male. And I'm sorry, but I really wanted to have Ash talk about this, and I don't know how to manage that without him breaking. Sorry, but not sorry!), didn't know how he could experience all this and not break, keep coming back strong. Of course, he himself had experienced the horrors of war firsthand, twice, but Pokemon don't die as often as humans do, and to see some of them die, well, Percy shuddered, he didn't want to think about it. But try though he might, his mind kept going over 6 words. 'I've died.' and then, '3 times.' 'At least.'
To have kept this in for years, not telling anyone, and experiencing even more things like this, well. . .Percy paused. "Wait, what do you mean chosen of my universe?"
Ash sat up shakily and snorted, wiping his face with his shirt sleeve. "Really? That's what you got from that?"
Percy shrugged, and sat down next to Ash, who scooted over to make room for him. "Actually, the first thing I got from your little speech was the 'I've died multiple times and haven't seen a therapist and yet am still able to keep going like nothing happened,' but yeah," he answered.
"Well," Ash started, "for your information, there are multiple universes out there. And what I'm doing right now is breaking the fourth wall, which will happen at least one more time, when the author inserts herself into this story-"
A girl with long brown hair with a sparkly blue Jojo Siwa bow nestled on top of her high ponytail/braid and blue eyes popped her head through the doors and put her finger to her lips. "Shh! Spoilers!" the girl chastised, though her blue eyes were sparkling with mirth. "Stick to explaining my favorite stories and T.V. shows!" She tugged on the ballerina charm on her necklace twice, then winked and popped back out of the story and into her 7th period Gemara class.
"Umm. . ." Percy trailed off, still staring at where the girl was. "That was. . ."
"Weird? Funny? Annoying?" Ash suggested.
"Uh. . .the first one."
"Okay. . .so anyway, the multiverse. Basically, whenever an author writes a new story and publishes it, or when a new T.V. show comes out, there's usually a main character or two, right?"
Percy nodded.
"Right. So, I'm the Chosen One for my world, or country, or whatever. I'm literally called 'Chosen One' by the legendaries, well, the friendly ones. You, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Hazel, Frank and," here he hesitated, "Leo, are-or were, if there are no other prophecies for you to fulfill-the chosens here. You 7 have the main prophecy, or prophecies in your case. Sadie and Carter Kane are the chosen in their series, and Annabeth's cousin will be too. Apollo will eventually be a main character with a girl named Meg, who will-"
A hand clamped around his mouth. "Spoilers!" it was the girl, because her teacher was late to class but now has to go because she has a quiz. "No more Trials of Magnus references!" she looked at her phone. "Ah, shi-shoot. I hate reading quizzes. And Percy?" she waited until he was looking at her, "you can't tell anyone else about the multiverse, mkay? Ash knows, because he's my favorite character like ever, only tied with Sophie Foster and Raven Queen, and maybe Plagg(ha! I knew it!-Plagg. Shut up!-me), and since I really didn't want to have a god-Hera or Arceus maybe and they're so stuck up that I would've had Mew explain this but for some reason I made Ash mad at her-explain this, I just made him know about it. You get to know because I absolutely adore Percabeth, and I love reading your adventures, especially in Son of Neptune-" She cleared her throat. "Anyway, I digress. I really need to go before my teacher catches me on my computer. No more spoilers! At least for this universe." With that, she left, hopefully for the last time this chapter because she should really stop procrastinating writing this chapter and move on to the multiverse, which will also be explained in multiple different universes in other fanfictions as soon as she can write them.
"Right. . .so completely ignoring that, except for the 'no spoilers' thing because I don't want to end up in a hospital(good choice), I'm just gonna continue. In another universe, there was a prophecy about some boy, who is now called The Chosen One, or The Boy Who Lived. He also fought in a war, but he and his friends are wizards."
"What's his name?"
"Harry James Potter(spoilers for the Cursed Child! Skip this or stop reading right now if you haven't read it!),and his wife is Ginevra Molly Potter(I looked it up). They have 3 kids(I warned you!)James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, who is the main character of the book that comes after the Harry Potter series, and may or may not be canon, and Lily Luna Potter.
"Sophie Foster is the 'moonlark,' which is the name of the project that she was born from. Right now, she and her friends are fighting a war with these people called the 'Neverseen', and(go read Unlocked if you don't want spoilers! I will be revealing what Keefe does when he wakes up!) she is the most powerful elf-"
"Elf?"
"Elf. She has five abilities, and she's so awesome that the author uses her name for her username on roblox. Sophie can teleport, read minds, enhance other people's abilities, inflict, and can speak any language. Lord Hunkyhair just ran away, because he's scared of this new ability that he has, which is a mix between Empath and Polyglot. She's called the moonlark because she will win the war or lose it, no one knows yet, and the author of this fanfiction is really mad as she's writing this because her class was playing long base short base in gym and most of her class disappeared halfway through which meant they weren't able to play and she really wanted to play(sorry about that, but I was really looking forward to that game and a bunch of girls left the gym even though they weren't allowed to. Also, I have a major headache. I know, you guys want me to get back to the actual story, and this is kind of filler, but I just can't, I had no plot in mind when I started this, and I still don't, except that the multiverse idea is going to be integrated into a lot of my future works. I can post a separate fic if you want me to, just to explain the whole thing better. Let me know)!"
Ash took a deep breath. "Sorry about that, I just. . .can't control what I say sometimes, you know?"
Percy nodded knowingly, having no idea that he was only doing this because the author was making him do it. "Yeah. But, um. . .so I get the idea of different universes, but elfs? Really? And what are moonlarks, and Polyglots and Empaths? And Lord Hunkyhair? What the. . ."
Ash snorted, looking much better than he did 16 minutes ago.
Meanwhile, a gajillion miles away in a universe that's not populated by fictional characters, Tali Smith was sitting at her desk with her computer opened in front of her, listening with a pounding headache listening to her friends talking about weird moments they had in phys ed(I asked).
She sighed, closing her computer and walking into the hallway, pulling her mask on and zipping up her gray sweater, her braid swinging behind her. Tali walked up to Evie(I'm not gonna use their real names, duh)and raised an eyebrow in confusion. She sighed again. Evie and Alexa were doing another one of those stupid tictoc dances. Tali knew better than to interrupt, and instead massaged her temples and went back to her desk, where she opened up her computer.
She glanced at the clock. 3:46. 4 minutes til last period and then home free at 4:30. She opened up the tab with 'Now or Never' lyrics(from Julie and the Phantoms, it's a great show with awesome music!) on it and started singing softly.
"Take off, last stop, count down till we blast open the top.
Face first, full charge, electric hammer to the heart.
Clocks move forward but
We don´t get older, no
Kept on climbing
´til our stars collided
And all the times we fell behind were just the keys to paradise
Don't look down
'cause we´re still rising up right now
And even if we hit the ground
We´ll still fly
Keep dreaming like we'll live forever
But live it like it's-"
She was cut off by Yvonne walking up to her. The petite girl had an uncomfortable look on her face.
"Um, could you please stop singing?"
Tali signed and nodded, opting instead to hum the lyrics of 'rare' under her breath. Yvonne walked away just as Tali's best friend, Emily Campbell walked up to her and sat in the seat in front of her and pulled out a bag of bbq potato chips.
"Working on your fanfiction again?" She asked with a smirk.
Tail nodded. "I'm having Ash explain the multiverse to Percy."
Emily raised an eyebrow. "Multiverse?"
She asked.
Tali opened her mouth to respond but Emily cut her off. "Never mind, I'm not in the mood to hear one of your crazy theories."
Tali pouted, then looked at the tab opened on her computer. She sighed. "Well, I have to keep writing, otherwise my readers will have all found something better to do, like read actual fanfiction instead of me rambling about how stupid gym was today."
"Mm. Well, I'll let you get to it. I still have a couple more pages to read for english, then I'm finished!"
"Oh? What book are you reading?"
"Sisters Grimm."
Tali made a face. "Evie and Meira tried to get me to read those a couple years ago. I didn't."
"Well, what book are you reading?"
Tali lit up. "The Diamond Throne, by David Eddings." She sighed. "I really need to get back to work, otherwise I won't get anything else done by the time the bell rings."
"And that's why I will forever be a Sokeefe shipper."
Ash had a satisfied look on his face after 10 minutes of explaining the lore of kotlc to Percy, the events of what happened right when they got into the cabin forgotten. Percy was just staring at Ash, not believing and yet believing at the same time.
"Now, Miraculous. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was chosen to be the holder of the ladybug miraculous, and Adrien Agreste was chosen for the black cat miraculous. Those pieces of jewelry help them transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir-"
"He named himself 'black cat'?" asked Percy.
Ash shrugged. "Apparently. Anyway, they have to save Paris from Hawkmoth, who holds the butterfly miraculous. And since season 4 isn't out yet, no one, not even them, will know what happens next. And now that I've sufficiently bored our readers to tears, letś stop breaking the fourth wall so they can fix it enough to be broken again in the next chapter."
"O. . .kay," said Percy. "I think I get it? But since we´re done with that, d´you mind explaining the dying part?"
Ash bit his lip. "I'd really rather. . .not talking about it, if that's okay?"
Percy sighed and nodded. "Lights out in 5, okay?"
Ash nodded and went to bed.
Elsewhere, a group of gods were gathered together, trying to fix the mess that I made of the fourth wall. The group included: Arceus, Mew, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, Zeus, Hera, Athena, Odin, Isis, Thoth, Tikki, Wayzz, Trixx, Pollen, Aldur, Belar, and Eriond.
Together, they were able to fix the wall enough. Tikki flew back to Marinette, Wayzz, Trixx, and Pollen following.
Zeus, Hera, and Athena went back to Olympus, while Isis and Thoth went back to wherever they were.
Aldur, Belar, and Eriond went back to their earth, and Odin returned to Asgard.
Arceus went to Spear Pillar, with Dialga and Palkia. Giratina opened a portal and slipped through it to get to the Distortion World. Mew lingered, for a bit, then sighed and muttered, "I hate my job," while flying to the portal that would take her to the Tree of Beginning.
A/n: I´m sorry for all of the people that had to suffer through that, and for me explaining the multiverse horribly. I´m working on another fic where it´s explained a bit better, but for now, this´ll have to do.
Also, yes, Tali Smith is supposed to be me. Its not my real name, of course, but my first name does start with a T, so. . .anyway, I took some creative liberty here. My best friend does not go to my school, but I am reading The Diamond Throne for an English assignment, and I have memorized Now or Never and Rare, by Coco Quinn. Julie and the Phantoms has awesome music, like Unsaid Emily(my personal favorite), Wake Up, and Perfect Harmony.
Happy Chanukah, y'all!
