Julien wasn't sure where he was except that it was foggy and green. All around no matter where he turned, it was also vast and empty. When he called for his mother nothing but echoes returned. Where ever he ran or walked found nothing but emptiness and fog. No mother. No one he knew. Where was his mother...where could be she? She always came when he called, but, she didn't...she didn't at all.
"Mommy!"
He cries, tears forming in the corner of his eyes, pouring out. "Mommy! Where are you? Mommy?"
Nothing.
Again.
Covering his watered eyes to provide himself with some sort of comfort, it only did so much for a five year old. Who's whimpers echoed through this...place. Who was that woman, that had black hair like his mother? Green eyes too. Who was she? And why did she...the more his mind thought about it, the more tears came and cries became louder, nearly filling this place. Also, attracting the attention of another. Slowly a figure approaches concealed by the thickness of the fog. Their grey-blue eyes search for the source of the sound, hands out waving the fog away the best they could.
"Where are those..cries coming from?" They stop for a moment and gaze around. The whimpers where close, they could hear it louder. The question was where? Being in this...jewel like prison was enough. Making it rather hard to find others who enter. Or have been imprisoned.
A hand out stretched they feel in front of them, finding nothing and no one. Yet, the cries where close their ears could see it. Just not their eyes.
If searching wasn't going to do anything, then the only other logical choice was to call for them. Hands around their mouth, release a shout. "Hey! Who's here?"
Instantly the cries shimmer and a voice calls back. "D-Do you know where my mommy is?"
"Mommy?" Their brow wrinkles a moment, then gasp. "Wait? Was that a...child?"
The voice shouts back again. "Do you know where my mommy is? Ple-please!"
Their voice was starting to crack, they would start their tears again. Not sure what came over them, rush to the sound of the voice. Calling and telling them to remain where they are. Their eyes doing the best they could seeing through this fog, search for the owner of the voice. Felt something...it was faint but strong. Unsure what it was, it seem to guide them to the child. Giving the fog another wave, find trembling Julien's green eyes(that looked familiar as well that straw-blonde hair, mirroring their own) staring at them. Filled with tears.
Elyon drops to her knees right away, using a sleeve from her gown gently wipes his tears away. With a soft hand held out to him. She couldn't believe it, a child! A child Nerissa imprisoned here. He had to be no older than..five or maybe six, she wasn't sure. Except the plastered fear upon his young face. Why would she lock away a child? Had she gone mad now?
Cleaning his face, she finally was able to see his green eyes without the water or mist. Bite back the lump in her throat she wished not say, but, answered his question none the less. "I don't know where your mother is," his eyes widen then fall. She saw the liquid rise again. "but," her hand moves closer to him. A soft smile appears on lips and in her eyes. "we can find her together. My name's Elyon. What's yours?"
Through his throbs and hic-ups Julien answers. "J-Julien."
Her smile furthers. "That's a nice name." He gives a small nod of thanks. "Why don't we stay together, okay? This place can be...rather scary."
He couldn't agree more if not for the sobs still in his throat. Takes her hand instantly, rushed a slight warmth through Elyon. Her mind couldn't catch it, but the feeling still lingered. For a few more seconds, her eyes widen for a moment at the boy. He seem not to notice it, too busy wiping away tears. "...Weird.." was the only word that came out.
Weird couldn't begin to describe it, at least that's what went through Will's mind rolling out the extra sleeping bag on the floor of her room, for her..umm...teacher. Every since coming back from Candracar, from the information Lube gave not to mention Phobos too...the thought made her shutter. And everyone else. It was still much to process really. Grabbing a pillow from her bed fluffs it and puts it down with the sleeping bag . Every so often glancing over at you, standing the corner of her room. Still, in that other form, that you hadn't transformed out of yet. How she managed to get you pass her mother, thank goodness for Irma otherwise it would have been rather...challenging to let her mother know you where...bunking here.
It was just weird really, but, Will knew you needed it and didn't mind if not obligated to house you. After all and everything. It was the right thing to do.
"Umm," clearing her throat, your eyes fall to her. That sullen look hadn't left. What made it harder, and she knew it wasn't your fault. But, the submerging of the current mood you where in, began to override her own. Everything became heavy.
She nearly fell over, if you hadn't snapped out of it. "Will!" Rushing over to her, before she completely became buried. Hold her up. "I'm sorry."
It took a moment, but she came back to. Blinking a few times. "W-What...oh..."Realizing what happened or just happened. Rest a hand upon her swirling stomach. "I-it's alright."
"No," you cringe sighing heavily. Do your best to hold yourself firm and swallow any rising emotion that pushed back. The strain Will saw wrinkled on your brow, she wasn't sure if you where going to throw up or blow. The Heart of Serenity was just as Lube said. But, since you weren't it's actual holder then...it was more...Julien had this power?
After a few breaths manage to get yourself under control. Ignoring the tears in the corner in your eyes, help Will up. Dust her off. "I need to be...more careful."
She tries to protest but you kept going. "I need keep this in check. I almost...I can..."
Each word you tried to speak was a struggle. More than you wanted. Each word was a tear refusing to fall in either fear or something else...the grief though was clear in your trembling voice. Will wanted to say something, but your eyes flash a hush to her. She swallows them. Instead speaks about something else.
"So, umm...ready for...umm.." twiddling her thumbs a bit. "have you...managed to..."
Knowing what she was talking about, walk to the window and stare at your long face reflection. Sigh, again. Raise a hand, a faint dark blue outlining it. What did Lube say...taking a moment to recall it. Hear her words, remember. Wave your hand quickly before yourself. Will stood back and watched. Shielded her eyes from the bright glow emitted from you.
"Well?" your voice cuts through. "How do I look?"
Dropping her hands, to see nearly gasped. Smiled giving thumbs up. "Nice." A gesture you didn't return really, turn back around to your reflection. Young eyes staring back, eyes you had long forgotten.
Giving a small if not light spin to get full view of yourself. If this was what it was going to take to get your son..then fine. You'd do it. Turning a sharp shoulder, your hair following walk to the sleeping bag, slip in and lay yourself to rest. Without even another word.
Except from Will, who mumbled a good-night. Turns off the lights and climbs into bed.
The next day after the weekend ended was like any other day at Sheffield Institute, students arrived and meet up with others. Faculty spread out across campus both inside and outside. Nothing different, except one thing...that made students heads slightly look up and turn. It wasn't Caleb pacing back and forth tirelessly under the campus sign. That even Irma nearly became dizzy just watching him. No, it wasn't that, it was what...or better whom walked onto campus.
Catching attention from others a bit. A new face, one that entered with Will and was instantly wrapped in Caleb's arms. That caused many to now raise brows at the open expression he just gave, especially with his girlfriend standing right there. And Corneila seem oddly fine with it. At the black-haired, green-eyed female (at least either a year or two older than him)he remained hugging. And was...he crying? Some weren't sure really, maybe it was just the lighting. Whoever this new student was, seem to...in some odd way return Caleb's affection. Whoever this new female was, earned a second look by many. She looked...if not reminded many of a sort of dark beauty.
With her fair if not near pale skin, long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, bangs swept to the left covering that eye. Held in place by a red hair ribbon. Matching her red blouse dress exposing her shoulders just a bit. Reaching just to her mid-thighs, ending with dark ankle boots. And a strange choker with sapphire heart around her neck.
An odd piece of jewelry, but it strangely worked. The moment she stepped a strong foot on campus (after releasing herself from Caleb), with Will and the others following, attention came. Yet, she just swept right over them, ignoring them as if they weren't even there. Her green eyes locked upon the main building ahead. Where the principal and office reside. Like she was on a mission of some sort. Every step she did was firm. And each step Caleb remained close. No one knew why or the reason.
Eyes of others followed the pack till they disappeared inside.
